and yes, I do not believe there could be a happy ending that would fit the drama and made sense, with how the set it all up from the beginning...
As for your idea of the ending: it sounds awesome BUT it would frustrate me so much if it happened. Because during the whole drama we had no connection to the real world. So at the end bringing in fans and how they were able to change the characters fate would sound like a cheap way out of a bad ending for me.
But yeah, let's live with the hope that the writer would write Kyung, Dohwa etc. into the story at some point and they would not be just simply forgotten :)
And thank you for liking the article. I wanted it to be short and straight to be point since the whole article is just about the ending of a one drama hahaha
I think I have bigger problem with this specific drama than the others, coz of that plot line of sexual abuse when Type was younger and how they "play" with it. It might be because I am psychology major, but how they are dealing with it just bothers me so much it's crazy.
Never have ever in any Disney show I have seen the guy kept touching the girl AFTER she said no and tried to push him away.
Also when I talk about BL, I don't only mean the tv shows, since they are quite mild compared to the novels. In novels we have cases of nothing more or less rape and it is so normalized it's crazy.
Just read the comment from freedonuts up there and I like the idea that Haru might have been the main lead but he tried to change the story. The whole punishment idea.
What I think, if Haru is not a writer (since there are still some theories, he might be), the reason he can change the story is exactly because he is just an extra. No matter if it's a stage or shadow scene, he is always himself, since his "stage" persona does not really exist, he has no lines and no purpose in the story. So when the "stage" parts happens, he is capable to do whatever he wants and is not controlled by the narrative.
Also, I feel like he might have been aware of himself even before Dan Oh. He did have Secret with him, he did draw her before she start talking to him. If anything, I'd say he tired to talk to her before she was aware, but she always forgot the interaction.
Since Haru and Dan Oh already broke the story line between her and Kyung, now he is slowly starting to gain awareness and both of them are in control of their action in the scenes between them (we saw that Dan Oh can now say whatever she wants to him even on "stage" scene).
Dried Squid Fairy might be the writer (not so sure tbh) or he might have change his life in the past but something really bad happened as a consequence, that's why he gets so angry at Dan Oh.
Anyway, I love it. I'm all for Dan Oh and Do Hwan friendship. Love their scenes.
