Try Introverted Boss, it's amazing, but not as good as What's Wrong With Secretary Kim.
the beginning of Introverted Boss is painful tho watch tho, there is some mistreatment of mentally unstable person. You can also try watching Jugglers. It's more similar to this one in tone

I really hope there will be no romance in this drama. Let them be cop buddies. The way the set the plot up does not allows for it to have any romance tbh.

Honestly Tae Ra's and the painter storyline is WAY more interesting than the main one. I would love to watch a drama about those two.

I have a hard time buying that Do Jin easily switched over to killing people, especially Dong Soo's fiance who…
His mental state after his wife and unborn child got killed was PERFECT opportunity for Tae Joon to manipulate him. From psychological point of view it makes perfect sense that he is willing to kill few innocent people to save many more. The 'greater good' excuse used by many villains works here just fine. He already felt guilty for not being able to protect his wife, he was going to kill himself. And no someone showed him that there is a reason for him to stay alive. That he can save lifes. or me it's frustrating to watch (I despise manipulation, badly) but it is believable.

I mean... they are bad people and villains. Majority of villains in movies or even in real life go by 'I will do bad things for greater good' but the moment they hurt innocent people to get what they want: it DOES make them bad. I get where you are coming from, that both Tae Joon and Shi Hyun's goal is to stop the crime BUT the method is vastly different and the method they use makes them either good or bad. Shi Hyun is risking her life to save people, Tae Joon is manipulating others to do his dirty job and kill others.

ok.. so....kim do jin, you'll basically act like god and judge and kill people (criminals) to finally stop the…
His logic is 'doing bad things for grater good'. He did not kill Dong Soo's wife simply coz she disagreed with him. She was witness of him killing the criminal and not just any witness: a prosecutor and a wife to a detective. There is no way he would walk free out of it without her being silenced. So he killed her. He said he can't go to prison. Now technically there are no witnesses of his killings so he is free to do the 'hitman for bad people' job. And I assume the mastermind behind it, the old guy have the same ability as Shi Hyun, so he can see up to 3 days before the crime happens. They can 'easily' plan to murder the to-be-criminals without witnesses. Not necessary he will kill them in front of their victims.

Few things
I think we do not agree on who is 'typical mean male lead'. I don;t mean any male lead character who is not overly nice to people. Or even all male lead being mean. For me it's a male lead who have some complex of superiority, who is being mean specifically to get lead girl's attention and hook up with her. <- that's what I mean when I use term typical mean lead (best example: go jun pyo). And Baek Beom is not that.
As for him explaining things: in most (not all, that's true) cases he is not obligated to explain them. This ain't university. People he works with are suppose to know all that. When someone at my university does not know the basics we went through already couple times and keeps asking me for explanation I want to yell at them too. It's one thing making mistakes and a different when you are extremely unprofessional like Eun Sol.
He does not treat anyone as dumb as unworthy. When they do dumb things they are yelled at FOR THAT SPECIFIC THING. Judging a person and judging an action are different. When he missed something he did not try to say 'you are wrong I don;t care, I am right", he took it all seriously and ran additional tests. He does not ignore what other people say at all if what they say makes sense and is based on some evidence.
For me Eun Sol has way worse character and if anyone she is the one acting like she knows everything and has the right to get involved in other people's private business. She wants to be 'close' to everyone and acts like she knows everything coz her intuition tells her that, but ignores the fact she actually was wrong a couple of times.
Honestly both lead characters are pretty bad and need some major development. Beom needs to accept his feelings and chill a bit, and Sol needs to back off a bit and start using her brain more, since in most cases she jumps to conclusion based on feelings and 'intuition' (which was proven couple of times to be wrong). Maybe because I dislikes noisy people myself I like Beom's character more and would rather spent time with him. I think it all depends on what you look for in people.
Anyway, sorry for a lengthy reply hahaha

what's wrong with L playing a judge? he looks too young? no, in south korea it's common to be a judge in their…
I'm not sure it's what Reveuse meant but for me it's a bit weird to see L acting as judge too, simply coz I 'knew' him since his early debut days when he was a looot younger and I still kind of get that 'he is young' feels (+ he does looks young for his age). I have the same problems with child actors... it's sometimes hard to switch from them being supporting actors acting as a younger ver. of leads to being leads themselves.

But the main lead did not do anything wrong tbh. Like sure he is not the nicest person ever but he does not tear anyone like shit. He yells when people he works with fu** things up during the autopsy and the scene evaluation. Up till now he did not do anything your typical mean lead would do.

So from now on it looks likes there won't be any romance in it. Which I don't mind. If they pull the plot of and make it interesting we don't need any distraction. I rather have well developed crime plot of this drama, then them omitting some stuff coz they have to have some time slots for romance scenes.

is it makjang? or are tags true?
It's not makjang at least for now. It does not follow the character of over the top acting and dramatic in a theatrical way scenes. When I think makjang I think guilty pleasure cheap melodrama. This ain't that. Don;t know how you define makjang but for me the recent case of it was 'Nice/Good Witch'.

So I see some people don't like who idealistic Eun Sol's character is, but I find it amazing and so realistic. Majority of people who just graduated and got practice the law in any form are like that. Ad they are hit with harsh reality. I can't wait to see that slow change in Eun Sol's mindset as the drama progress.

I'm starting to question it too. On the characters' relationship chart there in an arrow from Boyoung to Jewook with 'one sided love/crush' name over it. Also there are way more scenes with Minho. But IF she will end up with Minho I will definitely be not happy. I mean, he treated her pretty badly in the past. He had his chance. Time to move on.

well, the change is not really fast tho. We are half way through the drama. He should regret all the stuff he did by now. So when in few next eps Tae Hee finds out the truth behind their relationship we can get the whole 'but I've changed because of you' sort of scene. We feel like his development was quick because the drama is REALLY quick paced.

Not really tho. She is not a complete villain not coz she shows some good but because she does not show the worse of her. I wish they either go full villain on her or start showing some serious progress. Coz if they will try to show some development in like last 4 eps, I will not buy it at all.
