When they find out they need to find their own light, the start to regain the memories of the accident, understand they were in accident. That's when you in the first place can start wanting to live, because you know you are in coma, that there is a choice in the first place.
again, he wanted to be out of the loop,. not to live. He first need to know he is in coma, to want to live,. He did not. He was just stuck and scared and he wanted out. Technically dying is also out of the loop, coz then you live in the afterlife.
Noodle shop owner had the cat eyes because he was the ghost hunter (as a call them) in living world before he died.
You get the eyes if you accept the job - that's why light shop keeper has the eye (he guides souls in the afterlife) and the detective has the eyes (he guides souls in the living world). The girl and the nurse just see ghosts because they are still linked to afterlife with their memories of the events.
His eyes were never yellow before he woke up. He only got the yellow eyes after accepting the job and getting the glasses from the noodle shop owner. The eyes is not what makes you see the ghost, it what makes you be able to stop and to some extend control them.
"Then we have Ju Hyun Ju - what seems like a good resolution, weirdly feels incomplete, without the closure for the teen. Being separated from her mother, when she desperately wanted to stay in the afterlife with her makes me question if she even can live a normal life. Not getting treated for delirium she lives in a constant state of confusion - what is real, what is not. She is in a daze, not being able to connect with the people around her, she refuses to connect. She lives in her past memories that block her from moving on. I sadly struggle to see how she can reach the point of living a normal life."
IF she is able to get better she might lead a similar life to Kwon Yeong Ji tho. Using her new ability to help ghosts...
Her keeping him alive made me think about the family members who disagree with euthanasia, even if the person dying wants it. Their love for the person and their will for them to be alive longer is stronger than said person actual feelings and consequences of keeping them alive. Also... not everyone can move on. She did not. Many people did not, that's why they became ghost in the world of living, and that's why the detective basically has to force them to move on...
Anyway, for a short drama like that, it had so much depth I am honestly in love.
Do I feel bad for her? Yes. Do I also think she is a bit selfish? Yes. If she kept him alive just coz she loved him, just because she wanted him to stay alive, she would not be said he does not remember her. Honestly, if I knew the memory of me would cause a person I love so much hurt when they are already in pain, I would be glad they don't remember me.
Also, he had no will to leave honestly. She literally forced him to survive...I find their situation the least clear cut and easy to digest. Honestly tragic in all ends.
"Lee Ji Yeong at the end became a vengeful ghost. The sadness of being forgotten by the man she loved, by the man that she died for was too much to handle. When I watched where her and Kim Hyun Min ended, I kept thinking: maybe her determination to keep him alive was just a selfish act. Maybe he should have died. Maybe them staying together in the afterlife would be their happy ending. Now all that’s left is pain and regret."
