Based on the remnant's respone when she stopped the battle, they would rather have a peaceful life. FL believes that the emperor ultimately doesn't want their death and wants peace too.
I read a comment saying they might be ok with ending if they didnt read the novel. I didnt read the novel and yes, ending was okay. I had the same thought with POJ. there, i read the novel and was disappointed with the last 10 eps . 😂 So i now hesitate in reading the novel before the drama ends.
Drama OST was good. Didnt foresee chancellor's xu's end. Chancellor gu.. i was just tired seeing him.
I was a confused a bit about the kid, but yeh makes sense it was zhili's son. I am a bit meh, that anian died. His last battle scene was good though. That scar for lord shen was hardly visible. And i more concerned with that pairing. I would've wanted to see their kid. For our main couple, i know this is a romance but it was still nice to see, they were always end game. They just had to wait for several yrs , for MTH to settle her people and for the court to maybe forget a bit.

I think that moment cemented his hate, becsuse she snubbed him and went straight to his mother. But have they been formally introdcued? I thought they cannot directly address someone if not formally introduced yet. Especially in a social setting. But yes mostly he's prejudiced since she is his mother's choice.
But in the relationship chart he would eventually fall for FL anyway? The irony. FL dodged a bullet. He's disgusting anyway, he had no regrets in ruining someone.
I am only in ep2 (or 3?) and it seems theyre presenting ML as street smart. He is also quick witted enough to not be caught by the officials and exchange words with lady yu. Though he is a smuggler, he feels responsible for his men, esp the kid. He keeps telling him not to shed blood and that he still has an option to get out of their illegal business. He also doesnt want to ruin an unmarried woman. So, he's smart, knows martial arts, and for now, seems a good decent man.
Not gonna lie, the ML was so selfish when she was telling his about her problem, he didn't give a f*ck and dismissed…
I think it was established during their school days that they are each others sounding board, they feels safe to rant to each other. Theyre not really asking for the other to help, more that they need a safe space (person) to do that. Im sure she can do that with one of her other friends, but her default esp since he's now back in her life, would by ML. As for being burnt out, physically yes, but she obviously love her work There's only so much she can do about her groupmates and work politics. Though she is smart and popular, she is not as established as the other proj head. Also, ML didnt choose to apppear. It just so happen the watch was brought to him. Yes he couldve chosen not to fix it, w/c is what he originally intended. But hearing her sad voice, that changed his mind. With what happened to him, though as LZH said it was stupid, i can sort of see why his first action was to break contact.
