I know I've commented before how XLX reminds me of maomao of the apothecary diaries especially for the first few episodes. I now realize xiaoliang reminds me of another character: she's a maid friend of maomao, her name is xiaolan (just a two letter difference? haha) she's also friendly , quite naive, a bit gossipy (maomao hears most of the palace rumors from her), and she also likes food (maomao always bring her snacks).
Both characters are adorable.
Xiaolan from apodia had a good life. Can i wish it on drama xiaoliang too? Please? ><

I interpreted this a bit differently. Brother immediately understood the implication of having sister's flower. I can't remember the word, but brother's expression, was more 'oh no what should i do?' instead of angry. Then he looked at ML pleading to go along with it, because it's his sister's honor is at stake. He looked relieved when ML was going to go along. His next expression when grandpa lin saved the day was more, oh well this is ok too.
But. He is still sus, because what he wore was the same as the lin daughter's supposed to be intended,the color of his clothes and the flower. Or it is also possible that it was his sister who arranged what he should wear in the banquet.

She generally is good with this type of character: calm, kind, smart and hardworking FLs.
But i also watched go ahead, and she's good there too. 😁

I think she made it fall so she can look/stare at ms du from under the table and not be called out as rude. I think she admires her.

Um when he turned on her on the library, i was actually cheering for her to join her father in kicking him. 😶
But i definitely understand her reaction too, her will to fight left her and she can just sit there.
Her family would kill him anyway, might as well take back the money he took.
For her, in her life, that money is all she can depend on.
