I really do understand where you're coming from.
It's still possible that he does have a blood cloak within shouting distance if he needs them, when he shouted for xie jie(?) when he woke up groggy, he clearly expects he'll be there when he called out to him. Fcy successfully taking him away to her tent maybe was just luck. But again since it was really not addressed or explained in the drama nor the novel, i can only guess
now that she knows, there would be no problem for him to have his guards around him
Though, in the novel there were still several instances that he's alone and doesn't have his guards. 😶🤷♀️
How come no soldier watch over an army commander's tent and let someone drug and kidnap him? They have enemies…

No one expected that fcy will drug him and stow him away in a different tent. They may have planned to meet in the field, since they cannot walk around xz inside the camp. Not sure though. Just what i thought might have happened.
