The separation frustrated me too. Nan Chu was already leaving so why did he decide to go away too? I know he said he didn't want the station to suffer because he was being criticized by Nan Chu's fans. The director/writer was practicing creativity again with parallels. He showed the two leads reading the diaries. Who would have thought they wanted to send Lu Xiao into the forest so he could possibly die just as Nan Chu's father did?

I thought so too. Who would have thought that after all the deaths would end that way. It should have been a victory ending. But we don't know what the director intended other than he wanted to mess with our brains.

The thing that gets me is that they built up that romance and intensified the feelings between the leads. Then this.

Yes. I read the novel ending and there was a wedding so I was sure it would be a happy ending. Who would think they would ruin a happy ending.

That whole separation with no communication I do not get. They were looking at each other's social media but didn't call each other. And I don't know what else to say about the ending. The thing is by the time we got to all that, I was already too invested in this show to stop and I still love what I saw before all that.

All I can say is, I still wake up the theme song going around in my head!

I did too! I loved the relationship he had with his mei mei. He might have acted as if he was annoyed with her but there was no doubt he loved her. Nobody bullies his mei mei!

I stepped away for HL so I could forget it. It is hard to forget it after watching it a million times. I watched a drama that broke my heart, so I came to visit the show that put a smile on my face in a way no other has. it is strange that HL is still at 9.1 and has not moved up. Are there no new people watching the show or did we all watch it at the same time a few months ago?

I do not hold it against you that you did not find HL worthy of the high ratings. However, I found it unique and wish I could find another show like this. But since you feel this show is "overated" then you didn't get the feel some of us did while watching it. I smiled through the whole drama except for parts I saw Jiaxu cry or the parts he suffered due to his father's crimes. I rewatched this drama over and over and presently trying to to forget just so I can rewatch. It brought me such joy. It is unique. It is one of kind. It focuses on the relationship that started as a secret crush. Even though there are antagonists in the show, the issues are resolved without making them a major issue that overpowers the love story. And again, I am not angry at you for your opinion, I just wanted to respond to your comment about the drama not being unique. To me it is.

I love this. And you are so right about the ratings of 10. Any show that gets me emotionally connected to the point I keep rewatching and going back to scenes is a 10 for me. Hidden Love is one of them.

After what happened with Bright Eyes in the Dark, I wonder if I should wait before I get too attached to this show. I find the ML adorable. Cheng Yi has a way about him that I love but I am afraid to watch till I get to the point of no return. Only on ep 10.

In the video he basically said his character did not die and it was an open ending. To me it is contradictory to say he did not die and then say it was an open ending. If it is an open ending then it could be that he died. I think it was just to appease the angry viewers.
