I added a discussion on the ending at the top. I know some are upset at the spoilers but it is hard to not say something about the ending in discussion. This topic exploded yesterday. Feel free to comment there with no fear of spoiling it for someone. Now that the show has ended, it is getting harder to censor my own comments.
I don't like the open ending. After all those emotional roller coaster episodes we deserve a good happy ending.
I will not say no to this and I totally understand you. It was my initial and even second reaction. But in looking for the answer to question "Did he die?" I saw the art that went into that final scene and for some reason keep rewatching it.
The ending was just ugh for me. The last 5-6 episodes were just bland.
As much as I loved this show, I felt too much time was wasted on the forest fire training. However, the final scene was beautiful and the significance of the words in the last 15 mins of the show greatly contributed to my interpretation of the ending.
I considered their kiss is the ending in my heart.
I just rewatched and felt the same. I think the final scene in the theatre serves the purpose of emphasizing that his work will keep him away. When she said, "You go protect the world. I will protect you," it shows she accepts his absence and they are working together as a couple. But the director wanted to be creative for his own fame and made it an open ending where we have to put it together and think it through.
We deserve a special episode come to n you can’t leave us hanging 😒😒😒😒
I agree we deserve a special episode! However, the more I rewatch the final scene, I feel he is still alive. Just listen to the words of what they said to each other from the time he met her after she was rescued in the forest fire. He said he will always keep his promise and his last words to her was to wait for him at home.
Good firefighter themed drama, very touching towards the end. Among the ones I've seen so far I feel this is the…
So great to see a positive comment.. I don't regret watching this. The chemistry and relationship between the couple was so beautiful. The friendships were also wonderful.
This scene with the dumplings is the real problem in this ending. I mean, the ML has responsabilities, it's credible…
Yes! You said this so well. That director just had to practice creativity. I would rather have a wedding. But in another sense, the final scene was so beautiful. I am conflicted.
There are so many ending discussions here and I did say do not read further if you don't want to know about the ending. I was putting spoiler on all of the last few episodes but it has already exploded in here. Did you not see the title ENDING?
My rating of 10 still stands too...the ending could have been Interpreted in many ways...but this was a drama…
Exactly! I was emotionally connected to this show. Even if I didn't like the ending, it does not change the fact this couple was one of the best I have ever seen. Now I don't know if I cannot tolerate any less.
