It is normal for the 2nd couple to be more entertaining. By nature, they are savages. Meanwhile the first couple is alittle boring now in comparison.

I like to watch "old" k-dramas around 2010. and I noticed that FLs are often forced kissed at minimum. I imagine that maybe, at the time, force kissing a woman was supposed to be romantic. In the 80's and before it was, if you pay attention to movies.

So no. It is like reading old "harlequin" novels. The ML takes what he wants and the FL has to go with the flow, and stand everything.

There were no rape because FL escaped so SML could not force her.
But as I see it, SML is back and decided to kidnap FL and force himself onto her. So basicaly raping her again with or without poison.

I also dislike violence toward women. Yes, in love and nirvana Jiang Ci suffered a lot repetitively. I watched till the end. It was a beatiful story be hard to stand the violence. I side-eyed a lot of scenes.

If like people say, she is that good, why her agency did not advocate for her, so that she can showcase her academic skills.

I personnaly like that FL could resist the temptation. It shows a difference between the two Female Leads. One is cold and can control herself when the other is "naughty and wild" as Sha Qu [Qing Yun's personal bodyguard] said.

Like you I would have also liked a slowburn romance plot leading to emphasize the sexual tension. But the writers prefered to use the " shaking bridge effect". This is a rare approach to romance. I am curious to see how it will develop.
