Slowburn romance would have been great. Too bad they did not choose to use this type of romance.

I would like to rewatch some episodes because it is so beautiful.As it is only 30 mn it shall not take long ^_^

I like this show more and more. The suspens is growing and what was, is no more.

I have my hunch about who poisonned the emperor.
It is good to see that Pei Family's revenge is not the only threat to Jiang Ci.
I was wondering when the battle for the crown would begin. It seems that, this is the moment.

I specifically liked the torture scene and all the false pretense between Jiang Ci and Wei Zhao.
Was it torturing or caring LOL. ?

I also liked the see Pei Yan recognizing that he wanted to keep Jiang Ci captive and that he was wrong to not listening to her marriage refusal.
How refreshing ! For once, an obsessive unrequited lover who seems to snap out of his obsession. That's a first.

To me the drama is more and more interesting and I hope it continues like this.

Yes she is beautiful and talented and her coldness is perfect for the role.
Alen Fang is one on my favs and I am happy with his perfomance as well.
I love the show.

Yes you are right, I forgot that RW went on a treasure hunt in masui. And he can be the one threatening Yunpei. At that point of time NZ will mistake him for the boy he is seeking.
Regarding GXW, all her badass girl power went down the drain when she slept with RW. And I don't think she can retrieve it.

I think that she will make Ruo Wen take Yunpei in the future episodes. And evidently, he will keep pursuing FL ( Bei Shuang).
Now, in power position, he might even want to marry Bei Shuang as his first wife.
Which could turn SFL (Ge Xin Wei) into a murderer.
Even if Bei Shuang doesn't want her man at all.

As for the romance, it is true that it first started because of an aphrodisiac drug. So the se*ual intimacy was shown before any love connection or romance have been ignated.
In terms of narrative this is something that I can understand.
In terms of writing, there is a lot of se*ual harassement/ tension in this show. The women's se*uality is a bargaining ship. It can be exchanged as a payment or as a reward for victory. Which I dislike a lot.
Meanwhile, the rapists are glamorized (Ruo Wen), the (victims) women 's characters are simplified (Ge Xin Wei : childish and violent).
As a result, I would say that, se* is emphasied more than romance in this drama, until episode 8 ( at least).
From episode 9, I start seeing some romantic scenes between the leads and I hope that the tendency will change.


Yes, Ruo Wen is not a deep and complicated character. He seems more like a simple villain for now. His portrayal is the same as one of a beast who takes everything he wants, whenever he wants it. In this regards, he acts exactly like his leading lady, the SFL, Ge Xin Wei.
I hope they get character development because until now, they don't seem to change.


The pacing was fast in the beginning and it took a lot of episodes to understand the intrigue. Yes, it coud have been shorter because with 26 episodes they normally don't wast time to show the plot points, especially at the very beginning.
However, I was so in love with the desert setting that I forgive them.
In my opinion rushing to the Yunpei palace and skipping those desert scenes would have been a pity because I don't know if the rest of the show will take place in Yunpei palace or Tiandu palace (I don't forget that Yun is Tiandu's city lord)

I am enjoying the show so far. The leads are marvelous and I like their chemistry.

LOL indeed. He is the kind of toxic guy she might like.
At first she did not look like an antagonist but I think that she can easily turn into one.

I cannot understand why SFL is infatuated with her rapist.
She behaves like an animal : the first served is her one and only man. I don't like her way of thinking nor her kind of childish / violent behaviours. She is a time bomb.
This is how the writers chose to portray her while they glamorized her rapist, Ruo Wen.
Until now, he seems to have a good image, exept for the killings.
He is not the only one, there are a lot of rapists in this show because some other men wanted to have her as a payment.

This drama is just so dreamy. The setting and the story are gorgeous.
It is only 24 episodes so I guess it will not be draggy. I like it so far and wish we had 2 episodes a day.

Shen Du did not loose his momentum.

I don't think Shen Du lost his momentum on the second half of the the drama.
It was only a trap from the Dowager => As she was promoting Yan Xing, she was demoting Shen Du in order to drive a wedge between them.
Shen Du indeed could not be the same as he was in the first episode.
He did not lose his momentum, he was a victim of harassment in the workplace.

I agree. The leads seem to have broken up in a way in the lastests episodes. But when I realized FL had the Yueluo type of engagement flower in her hair. It gave me hope.(^_^)

In the begining I thought about that too. But next I saw that the strategist brought back the tiger token to the emperor thank to Wei Zhao. So Now I changed my opinion on this boy.
