I don't agree, there is romance, an ill-fated romance / Star-crossed romance but still a romance.
The characters development of the leads comes from the romance, thus it is important in the drama.

What about the affection.
What about the double meaning in the dialogues between ML and FL and SML.

And I remind you that the plot is highly alternated because of the star-crossed love between FL and ML and the interference of SML.

I have my emotions triggered by every aspects of this show :
Politics,
Investigation,
Adventure,
Fighting scenes,
Spygames...
including YES the Romance.

It is not the same flower but it looks like it is. Ep 24 (pink flowers) /ep 32 (red flower)

I heard that the mini dramas don't pass by censorship. especially if they are broadcasted on the internet. Me too I like this artistic liberty.

I think that they might have filmed all the scenes but due to the censorship or other factors ( CGI buget, or artistic choices) they don't air all the material the filmed.

I will too. DOTSE seems interesting. I also like QMT because she was a strong woman but the ending of her love story seems to be rushed. I have the feeling that there is some missing scenes.
I liked the saber fight with the the antagonist SFL and the FL. It blew my ming. And Bai Lu was so good at fighting.

This show should be titled "manipulating you" because everyone tries to manipulates everyone for their own personal gain.

Yes cute little sh*t. I like their bikering. It is meant to be childish but I feel that it is not. It fits perfectly the story. It is normal for her to behave like that, she tries her best to impersonate a soldier.

I have watched it several times. This is the B movie flavour that I like. At times it is very funny.

He was in coma for a longtime, so he could not appeare. Ouyang Xu as a big character development from the noble scholar to the vile murderer. In my opinion it was well done. Even the screentime was ok because if he had more he would have been less mysterious.

It is always a pleasure to watch a smart and sassy Female Lead like Pan'er and a strong and devoted Male Lead like Qinfang. This drama is definitly among my favourites now.

Thank you for " dream of splendor" I binged it and a was charmed by the leads and their chemistry. The story was so endearing that I had a hard time leaving the drama. They are such a cute couple.
It was very funny to watch their bickering and flirting while Yinzhang always believed they were angry at each other.
Poor girl how could she be so oblivious of the love sparks between the leads. Maybe she was to busy understanding her own feelings. And the weird love triangle she was in.

True, she was professionally wise but personally dumb. She put herself in suspicious situations. And she could have been the laughing stock of the town if Shen Du was not smart enough to defuse any trouble she was in.

She was purely immature and arrogant.

It is sad, but you are totally right. In a real life situation I would never give a home wrecker reason. Luckily in this drama Shen Du was wise enough not to fall in any trap.

On the first point : whether ML was bad or not bad. Pan Chi should have never tried to interfere in the life of a married woman. Especially trying to put that married woman in a deadly situation by awakening her " so-called violent husband's" jealousy. Very Very bad.
Pan Chi is oblivious of the real relationship of the couple but he does not hesitate to act disrespectfully.
Did he try to show her a safe solution to save her ? No, he put her in predicament.

On the second point Yes FL never put limitation to Pan Chi's advences. Is it the same when ML welcomed Yue Que in Shen Mansion? I would say no because ML is head of Imperial Guard. As such he has lots of spies and scouts working for him. Everything ML does must be taken with a second look.
Did ML ever invited Yue Que to a brothel or even anywhere, Never.
Did ML ever spent time with her just once ? Never.
Did ML ever speak alone to Ye Que even once ? Never.
So, I could not call this treating someone bad.

If Lee Edgar Hoover welcomed Marylin Monroe in his house? Would the wife of Lee Edgar Hoover be jealous of Marylin Monroe or think that her husband is disrespectful to her. No !!!
Because her husband is Lee Edgar Hoover head of the FBI and she knows all that this position implies.

All of this just prooves how immature and arrogant FL is.

In dramas they like to make SML go after married woman, ok if they respect the married woman.
Pan Chi definitly did not. I disliked him the most when I saw him hiring prostitutes to make FL drink in a brothel. I wondered what she would do once drunk... being rape by the prostutes or by Pan Chi?

If Pan Chi was right like you said and FL would have left ML's side.
FL would have been murdered long ago by the antagonists, all of them, who wanted to kill her because she was too good at solving the investigation. She survived ( mudrer attempts and kidnapping )only because she stood by ML's side. even Pan Chi recognized that he was not the one for her, when he saw that whatever he tried to do, romance never sparked between FL and him.

This is weird. Indeed there is always fans of the more vile characters. However sometimes they are die-hard fans of the actor, what ever the role he plays.

It is very funny. The leads are flirting and Ying Zhang mistake it for fighting. The poor girl is completely clueless ^^
