You know what I'm willing to watch this even only to stare at Pooh with that long wolf cut hairstyle for 12 episodes straight cause holy shit he looks GOOD.
Yeah it was kind of miscast bc he seemed so easily led by the evil plotting ministers and opportunistic merchants,…
I honestly supposed to be the case, I just didn't imagine how young he actually was š It make sense to have a more teenager actor to play his role since we witness him go from 13 to 18 years old, but still, damn. He was young.
China has a history of Emperors ascending to thrones at age 1,2,3 too š All of these were basically regencies…
I guess I just feel sad for him since he was basically a toy in the hands of powerful minister and then died just at 18... It was a really hard time to grow up and be alive.
I went to research a little this time period since I know very little about it and damn Prince HongZou ascended to the throne at like 13 years old?? He was a child š
Also, very random, but the osts?? Chef kiss fr omg the opening is so beautiful and the ending is sang by Zhou Shen (I recognised him right away lol his voice is divine), I was immediately left mesmerised. Really great choices in the music department šš»
You really can't get distracted while watching this damn so many different characters, all with their respective backgrounds and intentions! If you're not familiar with Chinese names and court order, it becomes a bit difficult to follow, but it sure seems to placing foundation for a great political drama.
Someone can tell me where to watch this? Unfortunately it's not avaible for me on viki and tubi it's only for america so I'm searching for another platform T-T
I just finished this and I'm a loss of words... I will be thinking about this drama for a good while, it was just heart-breaking in the most realistic way. And I don't think I will ever be able to eat an omelette again without bursting into tears.
First episode was kinda cute, really loved how they showed us their friendship through the years, it was a nice build up. Overall very heart warming š„ŗ
I figured the "divine/mytical being" was the old man who pushed the cart (although the cat was definitely…
That's a really a good insight since I didn't remeber all those details! It does really ring close to the folklore trope you mentioned and I'm inclined to agree with you!
I didn't remeber the mailboxes being numbered, but now you mentioned it, the one at the end was probably the no. 1. I wonder how that connects to the story, should this mean that maybe the ending is part of the very "first world" even before the story of our protagonists? Who knows.
But I really appreciated your inputs, so thank you, you gave me another whole reason to reflect again on this drama ^^
