I was about to give up in the first 10 minutes but after finishing episode 1 I'm hooked. It's more graphic than other fantasy shows which is unexpected. First time I'm liking a flashback more than the current time because FL is more interesting as a shifu. The shifu disciple trope is better here because we have a carefree shifu and serious disciple, plus there is no obvious age gap so it's not a distraction, thank heavens. Deng Wei is gorgeous and his outfits are fire, I expected him to be more like Xiao Lin but he's a Tantai Jin here haha. Also, the blood of youth cast reunion!

the plot becomes convoluted in the last episodes but wang duo kept me watching.

he's really gentle here. it's so good to see how his expression can totally change from disdain to childlike innocence, eating his sweets. he's really a good actor because I can separate shen yu rong from him. however I'll still call him shen yu rong because that character is just too strong haha

I'd recommend Destined. Same lead from New Life Begins and also has a husband who needs to grow up. His family goes through ups and downs because of war but FL is smart in business. The romance is great to watch as well, though the last arc had too much politics so I didn't finish lol

this is true. even in the best c dramas by episode 20 you can feel the fatigue and the excitement from episode 1-6 is gone

there was an accident and the 4th BIL got amnesia. he's become more gentle than he was before so that opens an opportunity for romance, especially since 4th sister didn't lie that they were a loving couple before

I love Ke Ying. She has been lovable in every role I've seen her in. I love that she didn't try to trick him. This show has packed in every trope a drama can have, arranged marriages, forced marriage, enemies to lovers, amnesia with a personality change etc. this last one is my favourite cause it looks like our 4th brother in law looks so innocent without his memory. I'm guessing his wife will help him in his cases until he gains it back! it reminds me of your honour (k drama) that had a twin judge who disappears and his mischievous brother has to decide his cases with no knowledge of the law but a sense of justice. hopefully they'll decide the cases in the way SHZ would have if he still had his memory but in a gentler and more flexible way than he used to. he'll learn a thing or two when he comes back.
