Huntingtons Disease symptoms usually dont manifest until the person is in their late 30s and into their forties. Its progressive. You can be perfectly fine for most of your life but have a genetic time bomb waiting to go off. It's cruel and is a disease thats always scared me tbh

They definitely still loved each other. TTJ's plan was to intentionally absorb the devil god's power but because of his love threads and his pure heart - the breakthrough he had while refining the scale - he was able to keep the devil god from taking over. But he knew the only way to destroy tdg for good was going to require a sacrifice. He played the role with the intention that Li Susu would grow to hate him and eventually ascend and become a true god and be able to kill him. She suspected he wasnt being honest about it and knew he was lying about why he was doing it but he played the part really well and pushed her until she had no choice but to attempt to take him down. But she still loved him which is why she chose to have that one last night with him.
But yeah I get where you're coming from the editing was admittedly not great in the last arc because they were forced to cut out many scenes to fit the 40 episode regulations so its definitely a bit all over the place at times.

If you've not seen Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu's other drama Love is Sweet, you could watch that. It's not the same as our beloved devil god, but it is more of their great chemistry together.
There are also translated chapters of the epilogue (the happy ending chapters) on here if you need more closure.

They intentionally left the possibility of rebirth there with the finale scene. with hints and implications of their HE in the novel's epilogue but also allowed for those who'd rather it just end there. It's a bit frustrating I understand... haha
Youku needs to fix their international app and site. Its not on the app store and to pay on the site its alipay…
I'm not sure where you are but the international app is no longer available to download from the app store in the U.S. its been blocked there for some reason. (Since about June) It seems it's still available to download everywhere else though (im in Australia) so i'm not sure if this removal is from Youku. And those in the US who already had the app downloaded can still use it (until their subscription runs out)

And in that time (in the 100, 000 + comments) there has been endless discussion about this drama. (Endless! Literally about every facet of it at this point) And there still is. New watchers come in all time with questions and wanting to discuss episodes and plot points etc and people will always respond (usually under spoiler tags) you're always welcome to engage if you want to.
Dont know why its lagging for you though. it's working fine for me. That being said MDL has been glitchy in the past for all of us at some point so maybe that's happening.
Anyway, as i said, people are generally friendly and respectul and will engage, regardless of differing opinions, but not to rudeness and hostility.
I really hope this series either finishes airing before Novemebr 28th or that Viki or Netflix will get streaming…

It wasnt just on MDL. From the time of application to film and booting etc, all information about the drama said 40 episodes.
If it had been 38 episodes all along that would have meant it went through the entire censorship process with nothing cut at all (as they got their distribution licence approved for 38 episodes) which I find difficult to believe. 2 episodes of cut content makes sense after censorship.
But 6? Hmm..that's when story stuff might start getting affected a little bit.
I could be wrong though.
Regardless Im still looking forward it. and hope anything cut doesnt affect it too much.
