I predicted this, no matter how good or popular this drama was. If you go through the short reviews they almost all say the same thing "ML is ugly" so you know those 1 star ratings are not valid ratings. The drama has been doing really well. This is just typical Douban. Hopefully it does rise.
It'd be a dream come true if they could go on Hello Saturday and collaborate in a modern drama with lots of skinship…
Liu Yuning said in his livestream that he doesn't want to do modern idol romance dramas. He'll take modern drama scripts if he feels they are special, or realistic. He's into suspense dramas. So I don't know how likely this would be. 😂

The thumb kiss was a decision based on the narrative. Those characters are holding themselves back from being together, so they weren't allowing themselves to fully kiss even though they wanted it. I thought it was sad and hot at the same time.
the actors kissed very well for their other kisses in the drama as the bts for those scenes shows 😅 There is bts from the last episode of them kissing for like 3 minutes straight, quite passionately too. It's unfortunate they didn't really show a lot of it during that scene but kisses being edited and cut down is not uncommon in a lot of historical dramas. Despite that, I felt the romance was very believable between them.

I felt the romance was already very much building by that point tbh. They'd already had so many moments between them that made me giggle and blush. It's also an enemies to lovers story and so it's perhaps a slower burn than you're after. ( not uncommon for costume dramas) But that's part of the fun! Do you want them to be in love by episode 8 or 9?

The no eps from the 30th to the 1st might mean an express package for the last batch of episodes will drop (Usually the last 5 or so ) Maybe on the 29th or 30th. Usually with a sudden break of no episodes at the end of a drama thats what happens.

A Dream within a Dream doesn't have a distribution licence yet so we may get it later in the year. But his modern drama Cicada Girls already has its licence. So we may get that before ADWAD

If you like Liu Yuning I would recommend The Story of Pearl Girl, A Journey to Love and Heroes (the 2024 version, as he has two dramas that have "Heroes" as the English title 😅) to begin with.

Not yet. There are many dramas who hit 30K and have fairly low douban scores. Douban is not exactly reliable anymore. So even though I believe this deserves a high score its currently got a lot of anti's giving it one star. 😔

He's had kissing scenes in other dramas and so has she, so I don't think the actors are against it. If there truly isn't any in the drama, it'd be a decision by creators.

If he spent his whole life dedicated to war and revenge he's just maybe not all that experienced in that stuff.
