I thought they were still pretty censored, just through the editing rather than being cut by the censorship board. Director hid them behind a lot of wide shots and odd angles. (as is his style) Still, better than it being cut out completely!

As far as I'm aware the heat index is only counted by views/heat/popularity in China. International watchers don't contribute to it. (which is why the heat index is only visible on the Chinese app) International watchers can contribute to overall views though which still can affect data in general.

Nah, the seating arrangment always said LYX on side, Wang Hedi on the other. LYX was only alone when she went off to do some promo stuff. Then they were both backstage waiting to get their award. After the award they both left early. She left to film more drama promos for Moonlight Mystique. In the fancams you can see them chatting and smiling. And at one point (according to the lip readers 😅) he asked her if she was going to film drama promo.

Yeah. There was a fancam from when he showed his eyes to Lulu from a different angle. His eye did look really swollen 😅

She and Luo Yunxi did talk to each other and smile at each other though. There were plenty of fancams that show this.
Maybe they were a little more reserved than they would be off camera or not at a public event. (For a number of reasons) But they still interacted just fine 😅

That being said I have seen other big cps not interact publicly at all, but I dont think thats the case here.

But were CDL and DW really more popular as a cp outside of certain group of weibo users that had an agenda? I definitely have never seen anyone gush over their cp or make edits or write fanfic about them, not like the lead characters.

But anyway, 😅 In the case of this drama I don't think it will be a matter of more popular but just both liked for different reasons haha.

Oh I don't mean to say they're more popular than Bai Shuo or anything. and obviously people are enjoying the main cp! I just mean many people are also attracted to the particular kind of dynamic that the sml and fml has in this drama as well and so edits will abound when it's that kind of relationship. Their scenes are escalating atm which is why there has been an influx of edits.

You can still ship evil people. Shipping isnt just for the good guys or healthy dynamics or a relatinship you would support in real life. 😂 good/bad, villain ships and enemies to lovers are popular for a reason. It can be very interesting to watch.

The song is beautiful, and they work well as promo music videos. But I agree that as an intro and outro, it spoils too much.

Maybe I'm completely wrong, But from what I've been told, this isn't the case. There were rumours and many reports saying it was based on 重生之嫡女祸妃 "Reborn daughter of the wicked concubine". But I've seen many people debunk that since then when the synopsis of Dream Within A Dream came out, as well as information on the characters when they started filming. It seems it's a completely different story than that novel.

But if i'm wrong, I'm sure someone will provide more details at some point about the novel.

Only for Love may not have been great, but Guo Huo also directed Mysterious Lotus Casebook and One and Only (among others) which are both visually beautiful and highly regarded in China and internationally.

He also worked and has director credits on Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms and The Journey of Flower which are classics.

While Story of Kunning Palace wasn't a favourite of mine, it did pretty well and even has a decent Douban score for dramas of that genre.

He's been brilliant in everything I've ever watched him in. Honestly deserves to be a main lead at this point. He's a better actor than many i've seen in lead roles.
