Serious question, how do they not kissed with their tongue in all the kissing scenes that they have...yes i know…
Even in western media full tongue kissing isn't actually as prevalent as you think. There is kind of an etiquette to on screen kissing. They have ways of making it look like they're kissing with tongue without actually kissing with tongue. Many actors have admitted this. That being said - of course if the actors are comfortable with it and it's specifically in the script, there are times where tongue is used.
When it comes to LYX and Bai Lu, maybe they have, but if its too obvious it likely gets edited out. There is usually a limit to how steamy they can have it be. But maybe there was a little, even if by accident, in some of their steamier scenes - like that extended bed scene from Love is Sweet. hehe.
I mean... in a weird way, I guess you could say Susu and TTJ did end up together. I mean, sure he's kind of in…
Yeah! That's a valid interpretation, and makes sense when you think of Bai Lu's Li Susu letter - "Now it's my turn to search for you" indeed.
But actually, she might not even have to wait 1,000 years necessarily. If you think about the idea of symmetry and balance. I feel it wasn't a coincidence that they ended the series 500 years later. Tantai Jin searched for Li Susu for 500 years, and it ends with Susu having mourned/waited/searched for 500 years for him. Maybe he is about to return just as it finishes.
I think the heart-guarding scale did the same thing for TTJ that the devil god's artefacts did for him. Imbued with his essence, they gave him the means of resurrection. In destroying them he should have been gone for good. Which is why TTJ thought there was no way back. He couldn't have predicted that the heart-guarding scale would preserve the purified part of his essence while only the part that was The Devil God dissipated.
Either way, I also don't believe they'll be in that position for ever. In the mean time it's nice to think she carries a part of him with her.
Just realizing none of my favorite TTEOTM ships ended up together ðŸ˜ðŸ’”
I mean... in a weird way, I guess you could say Susu and TTJ did end up together. I mean, sure he's kind of in a scale atm, but at least she carries him around in her pocket. Just an immortal goddess and her dragon scale husband, through the ages....😅ðŸ˜
You never know. Nothing is impossible in Xianxia. Just because the characters themselves believe it's not possible…
haha thank you. I mean, I have to admit, my initial feelings about them aren't necessarily optimistic, but that's looking at it from a more traditional point of view. Maybe them being "together" just might not look the way we would imagine, or in any way we can comprehend, as with the True Gods.
Is the kiss at 3:43 just a zoom in??? 🥵https://youtu.be/W2jMBJMUZBE
Yeah that's a BTS shot from the Special Edition episode: Love is mutual fulfilment. I had that one on repeat a few times the first time I saw it. Plan on making a gif set of all those different angles soon.
After the dream arc, LSS hopefully said MY and SJ will meet again. So, I'm going to believe it was an open ending…
You never know. Nothing is impossible in Xianxia. Just because the characters themselves believe it's not possible doesn't mean it isn't. We clearly see that the True Gods still exist on some level when Susu ascends to Godhood, they are now outside of the normal universe. Perhaps it's the same for Ming Ye and Sang Jiu. Taoist beliefs - which all Xianxia draws from - imply that nothing can be destroyed completely, there is only transformation. Perhaps they become one with the Tao and are together in some metaphysical way.
Can someone explain the end of ep 39? Why did she do it if she wanted him to die?
She didn't want him to die, but she knew if he continued on this path that she would have no choice. He was about to destroy the world. There was a part of her that knew he was lying but didn't know his reasons. She was in love with him and wanted to be with him one last time (first and last time...until they meet again. If we are to assume nothing ever happened while they were sleeping in the same bed while at Jing Kingdom ) I don't see how that's stupid. It's understandable. And why would pregnancy factor into it when she planned on dying with him anyway.
That’s coz his kiss scenes with other co stars are so meh lol
They both look so pretty even with the poor quality of that video. lol I also love that it looks like LYX rubs his hands together to warm them up before touching her arm. That's a gentlemen.
they could do a season 2 since the drama is so popular they can continue in part 2 her trying to find him and…
Oh okay. All I saw was a trailer for the Special Project, which had "The Reunion of Jin and Su" stuff in it. The "SP" episode titled Love is Mutual Fulfilment was released the next day on Youku under the "Special Edition" category. It had the same footage that was in the teaser, with the same thumbnail. Ended up being a 40 minute behind the scenes episode with interviews that you had to pay extra for. It ended with the interviewer asking them what they would say if they were reunited which then transitioned to the audio snippets. That's why I figured that was it. That it was just a preview for the Behind the scenes SP. I didn't realise there were other previews/announcements about it.
I'll be more than happy if they do release more! Yes, please! lol

I think what we got is all there is and all we're probably going to get. I feel they recorded it long after they wrapped the drama, knowing that people were probably going to be sad about the open ending. Not as a preview for something longer but just to use as the end of their Special Edition/Special Project episode, which they've already released. LYX and BL may not have even been in the same room when they recorded their parts.
I do think it validates the interpretation that they'll be reunited one day, but I don't think we'll get anything more. I'd be really happy to be proven wrong though...

Yeah, she just doesn't look comfortable at all. I thought her and LYX had maybe one or two semi-decent ones in LTL, where she actually looked like she was at least trying to kiss him back. (maybe by this point in filming she felt more comfortable with him, idk) But the others were just...not great. I haven't seen her drama with Xu Kai, but I did see a few of their kisses in a compilation. Maybe not as bad as in LTL, but again it still seems like he's kissing her and she's just sort of... letting him.
I agree about BL. Her on screen kisses always look natural no matter who she's paired with. But I agree, her kisses with LYX are the best.

So true! They really are. Despite finding the drama and chemistry extremely meh, I thought there were one or two kisses in Lie to Love that weren't terrible. And LYX was trying and putting the effort in, but for the most part she was giving him nothing back. No wonder they both said crying scenes haha. Majority of his onscreen kisses are like that.
At least Lulu actually kisses him properly and acts like she wants to kiss him. Way less awkward and probably a lot more fun that way haha.
It's extremely unlikely there is going to be a second season. Whether it's completed adequately is a matter of…
It is absolutely still worth watching. The story, acting, the romance and the chemistry are very good. Honestly, some of the best chemistry I've seen. Nobody does sexual tension like LYX and Bai Lu in my opinion.
and personally, I don't think the ending is bad. It might not be the ending I would have preferred, but it's not bad. I understand it and can see what they're implying and it's hopeful to me.

Sort of similar. except for one thing. The ML dies. But the last scene shows he's not completely gone, implying a possibility for a return. The FL is waiting. We don't see the return like in LBFAD. It's left up to interpretation. But I believe it is hopeful.
is this series completed adequately with a happy ending or is there going to be season 2?
It's extremely unlikely there is going to be a second season. Whether it's completed adequately is a matter of opinion. It depends on how you feel about open endings. haha. It's a sad but hopeful open ending. Some people call it a happy open ending too. Both are kind of correct. It's hard to explain without completely spoiling it.

He's still with them, as close he can be, and she knows he's there.

Doesn't stop their story from being sad though.

I don't usually tend to ship actors but these two make it so hard with this kind of stuff.
Do you prefer kissing or crying scenes.
Bai Lu: Kissing scenes
LYX: Kissing Scenes
Cheng Xiao: Crying Scenes
LYX: Crying scenes.
Uhhhhh. What's the deal Mr. Luo?
I guess LYX and Lulu just really like kissing each other?
