I don’t know how long Xue Fang Fei and her ex husband were married for but it would make sense that she’s not story-wise so young anymore. The mature look works for her and ML micro expressions are so charming that it really works 😍

I’m very impressed too! The princess is delightfully crazy, the ex husband acting is also awesome: you can really feel that he still believes himself to be righteous and honest but the selfishness and cowardliness is shining through.

I think once she gets rid of the people that hurt her and Jiang Li, the political plot will be the focus of the story, and ML will be front and center.

I know right? Did you read Dreamers in the Spring Boudoir? They adapted it and it was so washed out! The FL became cute and just “want to be good” and the ML lost his sharpness. Sigh.
Plus I really don’t know who would be a good fit for the leads…

It’s really good so far! The characters are intelligent, difficult parts of the plots are explained in a way that makes sense, the ML is wonderfully dark and seductive and the FL is smart, while showing her suffering for all that she went through. Give it a try and see for yourself!

7.9 is really low…especially as it’s the beginning… you can also rate the individual episodes, that usually helps with the rating.

Her most famous novel “Rebirth of malicious empress of military lineage” (I know…the name 😅) is also revenge with strong FL and wonderfully cunning ML. It’s fully translated online! It’s *chef’s kiss*. Unfortunately the copyright to the adaptation is stuck in a limbo 😭

The Rebirth of the Female General has been filmed, I think thy are waiting for the license! It’s not truly a revenge story but I looooved it!

Finally the first of Qian Shan Cha Ke novels to be adapted to drama! I LOVE her works and I’m in equal measure excited about it and worried about the delivery 😱

The novel “Rebirth of a Star General” is one of my absolute favorite 😍 There are lots of fighting scenes…I hope the actors (and director) are skilled enough to take them on!

I remember that in a previous episode XW told his guards to let JXN through to come see him? Maybe they interpreted it like “any time in the future”?

Though considering the politically dangerous conversation going on, even in this case the guards should have been more scrupulous 😅
