yeah, the drama does focus more on JE/JM here than with SH after the time skip. Since she ended up with SH in original version maybe she might end up with JM in this one, imo they spent too much screentime together to not end up with each other..
Ep 3-4 I felt bored watching the lighter moments/filler scenes but the last parts of those episodes grabbed my attention (like the scene with Vincenzo & Chae Young's father and the last 20 mins of ep 4). I would've liked this more as a serious drama without comedy (or less of it) Choi Myung Hee dancing scenes felt unnecessary. The only thing that I laughed at was when Vincenzo tried that pizza and the white truck scene.
The production made a mistake by making the first eps a full-blown over the top comedy instead of setting up a…
ep 3 also bored me until that last scene with Vincenzo & Cha Young's father, I actually like the drama more when it's being serious than when it's trying too hard to be funny but I just cringe at it sometimes.. the only thing I laughed at this week's eps was Vincenzo's social distancing joke when he tried that pizza and the white truck scene was unintentionally funny to me lol
There are some things I like in both versions but story-wise I liked that the original one focused more on the love square/4 main characters while this one kinda gave up on SH/MR stories halfway meanwhile inserting new filler characters in the later eps to replace them, making it feel like a generic daily drama. The last similar scene they matched with was the dinner table/aquarium scene. Original MR was crazier/had more stage presence than Park Young Rin's and SH feels more like a secondary character here after the time skip compared to the original where he still felt like a leading man even when JM showed up. I love Seo Ha Joon's version of JM more than Eric Mun's, I find him more fun/attractive (both looks/personality) he and JE had more sweet moments/intimacy here Supporting characters - Bok Ja & Yeo Jin were funnier/stood out more in the original, and I preferred the old parents actors than the newer ones (particularly JM's dad and JE's mom)
ep 8 I finally liked this drama lmao the sceneries looked pretty nice and the main leads sweet moments <3 I was excited about Jung Eun Chae's guest appearance! I think the screenwriter is better at writing life/romance than action since he wrote "The Package" which I enjoyed watching but wished there was a 2nd season of.. this drama was frustrating when the main leads kept getting chased/beaten up but I was quite immersed with ep 8 today now I'm dying to know what happens next...
Okay but am I the only one who thinks that Sunji and Dohyun would be really cute together? Even if I'm not a big…
I also shipped them from the beginning... ever since that scene when they were sitting on some stairs and she turns her head at him then they stare at each other up close <3
Does anyone have any recs for more comedies like this? Just finished this and Mr. Queen and wanting more fun dramas…
Zombie Detective (also slapstick humor & made some references to other dramas/movies plus Choi Jin Hyuk was awesome in it) Spring Turns to Spring (fun body swap drama) I Picked Up a Star on the Road (same music composers of Waikiki) Legal High (I only watched the Korean version but Jin Goo's eccentric character was fun to watch)
first 18 minutes of ep 1 was awesome, the rest was ok... Song Joong Ki is cute/amusing to watch 2nd ep bored me but next week's eps might be better (looking forward to more Taecyeon/Kwak Dong Yeon scenes)
Asian countries are always remaking each other's dramas so this one makes no difference for me. I tried the first episode before but it didn't grab my attention so I put it on hold, and I usually like K-drama remakes of J-dramas so maybe I might like this one as well.
First, what's the point of remaking this story when people already know the story? The producers do realise that…
not everyone watched the original drama before (I only watched the first ep before but put it on hold) I liked some Korean remakes of J-dramas more than the original versions..
I enjoyed The Guest & Priest so maybe I might like this one too..
