Yes! they can be considered more of childhood friends rather than sweetheart in my opinion since WX has been constantly treating ZYC as a friend rather than a romantic partner. She can be considered his aunt but not a blood-related type. However, I do think that the 'aunt' thing is just said out of the whim by WX to tease him through their conversation in that scene, furthermore, ZYC never uttered that word itself. I'm SCREAMING! I love the recent scenes between Zhu Yan and Wen Xiao. It wasn't intimate but it was definitely sweet. Like, I instantly caught butterflies whenever they stare at each other like lowkey communicating through their eyes. The chemistry between Neo Hou and Chen Duling is definitely electrifying. I find their romance unique. The push and pull, the flirtatious banters and epic hilarious clownery perfectly balances with their sweetness. So, rather than finding their interactions overly cringe, it is more romantic and interesting. The slow burn is definitely cooking and am so seated for their love story.
The dance between Zhu Yan and Zhou Yichen was so unexpected but gorgeous, I definitely replayed that part. Oh and Zhou Yichen trying to coax Bai Jiu was so awkward but totally funny. The only character I have been disliking so far is Pei Sijing as she has been sly.
I don't think the storyline of FOF is messy which some think of it to be. I absolutely think the opposite. I like the pacing of the storyline and how they are keeping things about each character and their past hidden, then unravelling their secrets slowly as each episode progresses. It keeps the mysteriousness and piques at curiousness, so once we get to the points where revelations are revealed piece by piece, it allows us viewers to savor these details and firmly connect with the storyline which is a lot more interesting, rather than having everything thrown at your front door all at once, that would be so unsatisfactory!
So, like the saying goes...the journey is just as important as the destination! FOF journey has been very enjoyable so far! I can't hardly wait for the angsty part because I am a sucker for angst.

I have yet to watch episode 14 but regarding Wen Xiao and Zhou Yi Chen relationship with each other, based on the flashback from previous episodes, they seem to have met each other only at the time when Zhu Yan/ Zhao Yuan Zhou left Wen Xiao in the demon hunting bureau where they did the fist bump, so they are not childhood sweethearts. Also, Wen Xiao is not his aunt, during that scene which you pointed out, Wen Xiao was sort of teasing him only as the statement she said before that was about her being way older than Zhou Yi Chen that she can be considered his aunt due to age and not by blood.
Ratings are subjective and easily manipulated here in mdl site. Besides, LGIEF has just recently aired so the current ratings are not totally reliable. I am someone who doesn't care about a dramas rating, as long as they are an enjoyable watch and written with good storyline. I haven't caught up to the latest episode as I am only on episode 5 but having watched until here, I have already been interested in this drama.

I just caught up with the latest episode and each time my dislike towards Sanha's mother just grows stronger. Every time she is on screen, she leaves nothing but an infuriating impression. I am a sympathizer and empathizer, I often easily cry too during tragic or sad scenes but she is a character who I feel nothing but complete anger for. A redemption arc wouldn't even be enough to reclaim my views on her for how horrible she is written.

It seems that every Baize Goddess is paired with a great demon who gets chosen based on the strength of their power as what has been told during the backstory for the Original Goddess and Cheng Huang. We have yet to know who shared half of the Baize token with Wan er (Wen Xiao's master) as during the time she was still alive they never showed her demon partner. Zhao Yuanzhou may have been present then but the only time he attained the other half of the token was when Wan er died. It has also been confirmed he is the demon partner of Wen Xiao. So, I think there is a possibility that Wan er's other half of the token was shared with Li Lun as he was the only other great demon aside from Zhao Yuanzhou during that time. Furthermore, the key to attaining the ultimate power of the goddess might be when both halves of the Baize token are finally combined together and for that to happen the demon partner has to die. Li Lun might have learned about this information since he shared the other half of the token and decided to rebell back then, which is why he is very keen about destroying the Baize token now.
