true. I listened on speaker at first but it does sound a tiny bit better on earphones. But his voice still sounded too masked on the official version for me. I can hear him clearer on the fanvids

Idk to me it sounded like his voice was really quiet during the performance too. It felt like the instruments drowned out his voice :(

hmm. I think calling his place in the Jiang family tenuous isn't right because all the siblings were very close, and it was only just Madame Yu that always had an issue with him. The family definitely wasn't insane either I don't think.
And I don't think he was attracted to Lan Wangji because of his stableness. I think he just found him an interesting person and genuinely wanted to hang out with him lol, not like a test or anything

Since there are some long Chinese xianxia/wuxia dramas on there you should know by now that most of the time these types of drama take some episodes to build context and background right? You can't possibly conclude that this drama is boring just from 4 episodes.

Yea I forgot to mention I'm only on ep 5...it's ok I got spoiled already (on my own will). I have to agree with some of your view points in other comments. I'll just have to accept that this is one of those types of dramas.

I'm only on ep 5 so my first and only impression of Prince Bo is him not being aware that the emperor is using him to gain power, and neither his words nor his actions so far have impressed me. I know he is still hurt from the treatment he received in the past. I know it's too early to make a decision, but I can't help but facepalm at the misunderstanding between these two.
And I already corrected myself, I don't hate his character, I am just disappointed in Ma Zhaixing.

Wait what do you mean by "everyone involved confirmed that Bo Wang was guilty"? The emperor assigned him and his crew to massacre the Ma clan, but no-one knew about it right? They covered up and put the blame on Jin, and even though the Ma general was suspicious, he still ended up accepting it.

I just didn't like that Ma Zhaixing trusted Prince Bo just because he was the one who saved her from that guy from the Gu clan. Yes he saved her, but that doesn't automatically make him a person she could completely trust because any person could have been like "oh I saved you from this bad guy that means you can trust that I'm a good person". Prince Bo can't really be the one to blame because he ultimately didn't do the killing, but still he knew about it, so therefore was indirectly involved.

Anyway, that's my thoughts. It's going to be so frustrating seeing these two interact together for the majority of the show while this secret stays in my mind.

omfg I hate Darren Wang's character...might be the first time I'm saying that about a protagonist. Please someone spoil me what episode does Ma Zhaixing find out that the emperor was behind her clan's massacre? This is gonna be a long painful drama watching experience for me...
