I thought Wei Wuxian just simply didn't want Lan Wangji to know about the core so he told a half-truth. I don't…
lol idk. I mean Wei Wuxian did go through a lot (3 months cultivating the dark arts and 13 years missing). It's not illogical to assume that he drained his spiritual power during those times doing who-knows-what.
I have to ask what makes this drama good? I am not into bl so can you enjoy it even if you are not into that?
Everything is good! You don't have to be into BL! I wasn't either but this drama got me into BL LOL. That doesn't mean you will definitely get into BL after watching and that's ok! Well-rounded 3D characters, everyone (all the relevant people) are smart af, the costumes and sets look stunning, the ost including the instrumentals are the best I've ever encountered, the plot is absolutely intriguing, cute bunnies, a sassy donkey, and a fluffy dog, you will get slammed in the face by the amount of plot twists, you will laugh and giggle at the smallest things, you will literally shed boxfuls of tears, and my personal favorite reason, you will actually learn some valuable life lessons about the demons that live inside humans and society in general (cue Demons by Imagine Dragons) lmao Thank you for reading and hope you consider watching xD
I was hesitant to 'like' this because I don't like seeing WYB suffering, even if this scene called for it. However,…
Yes agreed! Although this video does make me think how many other actors have to do this to themselves, except they're not as well-known as Wang Yibo, so this kind of stuff is never revealed. All I know is the entire Untamed cast put so much effort into this they deserve everything. Edit: also can I just say how good Yibo spoke his lines. sigh, he's too hard on himself though
This has always been recommended to me but I dont have the motivation to watch it- :( Someone please tell me about…
Hi!! I'm so glad to see another user that has the same preferences as me! I also watch cdramas and mostly historical/fantasy. Just based off of your profile, here's why you should watch The Untamed. - historical drama ✔︎ - xianxia ✔︎ - comedy (not the stereotypical romcom type though) ✔︎ - romance (free for interpretation though) ✔︎ - adventuring ✔︎ - smart and badass characters fo sure (claps for well-rounded characters) ✔︎ - Princess Agents talked about themes of justice, strength, power, morality, etc ✔︎ I'd say just bring your motivation to watch all the other dramas on your watchlist to this drama and enjoy!
if i remember correctly, in episode 44, when wangxian go to the burial mounds, wwx asks lwj to protect him and…
I thought Wei Wuxian just simply didn't want Lan Wangji to know about the core so he told a half-truth. I don't know the answer either but my guess is along the lines of what @CqlisMdzs said. Also I don't remember where in the drama it said the curse can "cure wwx and get rid of all the injuries" so pls lmk and I want to check what was actually said in that part. But given that this quote is true, Wei Wuxian was indeed cured of his injuries, but not having a golden core doesn't really count as an injury right? In the drama Jin Guangyao says that the curse can save someone from serious injury with the price of one's spiritual cognition so I'm assuming Mo Xuanyu did have some spiritual power to begin with, but that little bit was passed on to Wei Wuxian when he sacrificed himself.
Hi guys, I was thinking of making a compiled list of all the foreshadowing instances in the show so please help…
I think this counts as one. It's kinda hard for me to differentiate between foreshadowing and parallels lol. When Wei Wuxian was talking about "demonic cultivation" or "using resentful energy" during one of the lectures when he got called out by Lan Qiren (forgot which episode but you know which one I'm talking about xD) Edit: Also not sure if Wei Wuxian's wish under the lantern counts as one too Edit 2: Lol this may be a bit of a stretch but Wei Wuxian offering to carry Lan Wangji on his back when his leg got broken? Edit 3: Lol I'm just trying to go through every single scene one by one (good test of my Untamed knowledge haaha). I'll continue to add stuff to this comment so you might have to check back here often because I don't want to add too many comments. Edit 4: LOL does the song Wangxian itself also count as one hahahahaha I'm just throwing stuff out, take the ones you find useful. Edit 5: Ep 24 when Wei Wuxian was asking Shijie about liking someone him saying something like "isn't liking someone equivalent to binding your own neck" or something like that - Ep 16 when Wei Wuxian was almost caught by the Wens but got saved by some mysterious reason (later revealed as Jiang Cheng) may count as one...? - Ep 39 when Lan Sizhui was recalling playing with some of the toys. This one may be a stretch too - Ep 14 Madam Yu said "One day he will bring our clan some big trouble" about Wei Wuxian. Not sure if this counts because it's debatable whether the trouble that actually did come was Wei Wuxian's fault or not. - I think that's all I can think of lol
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
HAHA I used to play recorder too. Yea breathing techniques are definitely an important part of sounding good, but it has more to do with the sound quality more than the intonation. Chen Yue couldn't sustain the notes as well with the cheap dizi.
WOW so she's the original flute player behind Wuji. So beautiful and talented!
From the translation in the BTS video the out of tune part was because she was playing a 9.9 yuan dizi (~1 US dollar) LOL and the translation at around 1:34 when she tried out the dizi by playing a scale was like "Teacher Chen Yue got frightened, she couldn't believe her ears". So it sounded bad purely due to the quality of the dizi. I think the dizi isn't the type of instrument that you can just "purposely" play out of tune on (like you can on a string instrument). There's my two cents on that lmao. I thought it was a genius idea of Lin Hai to do that xD
Based on the story, who is the most secretly hides his feelings to him ?Lan Zhan or Wei Ying ?
By hiding feelings I'll assume you mean romantic feelings right? If you mean general feelings like "how I feel about this idea" then Wei Wuxian be pouring out his feelings to Lan Wangji all day every day lol. But as for romantic feelings that's hard to say. My initial response was like "oh of course Lan Wangji" but then I stopped and thought about it. That's the canonical answer, but actually not really my answer. I mean Lan Wangji pretty much confessed to Wei Wuxian right there in Xuanwu cave when he said "Wangxian". I don't think he was holding back anything in that moment, and certainly wasn't expecting Wei Wuxian to not have heard him. I don't think he was expecting Wei Wuxian to faint in that crucial moment lol, so I believe he fully intended to let him know how he felt right there and then. All the other times after that even though Lan Wangji never said anything, he totally showed Wei Wuxian how he felt through his actions. But the thing is I think Wei Wuxian is someone that needs to directly hear how other people feel towards him to believe it, so that is why he never really "noticed" Lan Wangji's feelings, or he was just afraid to jump to his own conclusions. Therefore, I think Wei Wuxian is actually the one that hid his feelings more only because he was unsure how Lan Wangji felt about him in return. Edit: this kind of made me think about love languages. Based on my thought process above, Wei Wuxian seems like a words of affirmation type and Lan Wangji a physical touch type. Lmk what yall think though, curious to know.
There was an entire debate on this topic months ago, though I did not participate in it, and therefore could not…
Just would like to preface by saying I don't intend to hold this conversation for too long, I just had to comment on something. Though I have to say I respect that you are still able to express your arguments (even though I disagree :D).
But I just have to defend Yibo's acting. You said you paid extra attention to him and I find it kind of unbelievable that you still were not able to see his expressions. What about Lan Wangji's smiles that were reserved for Wei Wuxian and for Wei Wuxian only? What about the pain on his face when Wei Wuxian let go and fell off the cliff? What about his face full of concern, hurt, regret when he found out about the golden core? What about the longing when he heard Wei Wuxian call his name when he was passing by in Yiling? Oh, these examples were only when he interacted with Wei Wuxian. Then, how about when he gave a death stare to Wen Chao for kicking Wei Wuxian down the cave of Xuanwu? What about his aloofness (having no facial expression is also a form of facial expressions) when he was treating Jiang Cheng like he was thin air in Ep 2? What about that iconic moment when he told Sushe "you are not qualified to talk to me"? And I could keep going on and on about his expressions. Just by writing these examples I was able to relive these scenes only because Yibo did such a good portrayal of his character. Yes, there probably were moments when he indeed did not have any expressions at all, but like how can you dismiss all those moments when he did and come to a conclusion that he's bad at acting...
And finally, "most of the times this kind of cold characters are given to people with limited acting skills" is just um no. In an interview, Yang Xia, the producer, said she immediately saw that Yibo was the perfect person for this role just by seeing him walk in the room. So no, he was not given the role due to limited acting skills. (I can't find an english translated version of the interview but I will link it if I do find it. You might just have to trust my word on that...) Anyway, just wanted to defend Yibo :) no intention on dragging out this conversation Edit: link below provided by @Joryenai ty!
I've been looking forward to these bts everyday but this post did give me a reason to think: https://twitter.com/xzhan1005/status/1326225793844998144https://twitter.com/GUZlXlS/status/1326234778614394880https://twitter.com/XiaozhanUnion/status/1326246351806619650I…
I'm just worried that too many cp fans will take everything they see as "proof" without considering the fact that these videos can so easily be manipulated. Even though they put warnings not to repost, they can't really stop other people from doing so, and once these videos get into malicious hands, they can be turned into anything to go against these two actors. Also some of the analyses of these videos are so excessive...
He did not come back in someone else's body. His own face and outer appearance was retained and so was his soul.…
Without giving any spoilers, just giving a definition, the golden core that Chinese fantasy dramas always refer to is like the basin of the cultivator's spiritual energy. They develop this core through practices such as meditation and basically its where their powers come from. That's all I'm going to say about that :))
