Wow first time reading a theory like that but I actually can see where they are coming from. Their mother was in fact forced into seclusion by their father. As said by Lan XiChen, he called it a sort of house confinement. Because of this I can see how it can be interpreted as extremely forced. I also understand the confusion of if she did not love him then why did she give birth to her two sons? So while it may not be as extreme as that comment portrayed, I think there was definitely some degree of coercion or submission involved. But I would like to quote Xue Yang (one of my favorite quotes) in ep 39: "Right or wrong, kindness or hatred, how can these possibly be distinguished by an outsider?"

Yea I read that theory too and same confusion (I think no one will be able to prove either side). Adding on to what @liya said, in Ep 42 Jin GuangYao specifically said that the self sacrificing ritual is to "save someone who is severely injured" and did not explicitly say "bring back from the dead" which makes me think Wei WuXian didn't actually die. But of course another theory is this is just a bug in the drama

The Untamed really had a wonderful ensemble of female characters each with such different personalities and roles. Such a thing is rare but treasured <3

They might be a little slow sometimes...but I recommend watching it on Youku where you can actually see the full episodes. There aren't subtitles on the Youtube versions anyway so you might as well watch the uncut version on Youku :D
