Thank you for the answers! Most make sense to me now. I still don't understand the last one though. According to what you're saying it technically means both the 27 and 38 year olds contained LZW's soul, which means LZW's soul existed in 2 bodies at once...?
Tell me, as a non BL fan, is this drama ok?Too much BL vibes in my timeline about this drama and it's a turn off…
This question gets asked soo frequently I feel like we should have a discussion reserved just for it... In short, yes go watch it! In long, BL is not the main point of this drama. There are so many more aspects of this drama that you can find out and enjoy regardless of BL or lack of BL or whatnot. To stress further, to me this drama does not focus on romance (even if the cp was changed to heterosexual I still wouldn't say it focuses on romance). There may be romantic elements but ultimately it is up to the viewer to decide the relationship between the main leads. That's one of the things I like most about this drama: the complex relationships between not just the main leads but between literally every single character all can vary due to personal interpretation.

1. Did the little brother of Xie Zhong Ru play any significant role? If I remember correctly the little brothers name was Xie Zhi Qi but wasn't the psychiatrist's name Xie Zhi Qi as well? Is the little brother and Xie Zhi Qi the same person? 2. How did Huang Yu Xuan get back to 2019 at the very end without the music? I guess this might just be a plot hole issue. 3. What about the original Wang Quan Sheng? He originally killed himself but he got saved when Li Zi Wei became him. Does that mean he was also stuck inside a "mental house" like Chen Yun Ru was? So when Li Zi Wei died in the airplane crash did Wang Quan Sheng automatically die as well? 4. How did Li Zi Wei warn himself at the airport about the airplane crash? In other words how can they both exist at the same time because they're the same person right?
Veeeeery intriguing and thought provoking drama. I loved the messages that the drama taught about mental health!! I just have some plot related questions that I was very confused about due to the constant time traveling I put in the spoiler below. Also I loved the camerawork! So many clever details... such as the mobius strip in the background in Huang Yu Xuan's room and the seemingly random rock on the psychiatrist's desk.....
I absolutely love this topic about NHS so beware for long answer lol. Here's what I think: NHS's only wish was…
Interesting! I saw NHS not taking credit as a more "bad" type of move because he knew that what he was doing was "wrong" so he did not want any repercussions from it. I believe the only reason WWX did not reveal NHS but rather only give a warning was because he had no evidence, which was exactly what NHS intended and it's hard to judge whether NHS's acts were right or wrong (back to the same problem lol). His quotes about Excellency and the natural scenery just reveals he's a very simple/pure person that just wants to live his life but certain things forced him to become who he is now, kind of what you said yea.

Haha I know exactly which interview you are talking about and loved Ji Li's response. I actually never thought about it in terms of Chinese tradition and now that you said it it does make sense. I kind of saw it more as an "eye for an eye" type of situation. I don't know if you have read the novel yet so slight novel spoiler: JGY did dismember NMJ into several pieces and casted the pieces in different places, so that kind of is similar to destroying the body into parts.
"Thou shall not be friends with the devil" what does it imply? why would WWX said that to NH in the end. NH did…
I absolutely love this topic about NHS so beware for long answer lol. Here's what I think: NHS's only wish was to avenge his brother, which is not wrong, but his methods could be argued as wrong. Just like JGY used people like chess pieces, NHS was not much different. He coerced MXY (not confirmed, just a guess) to sacrifice himself. He brought WWX back not because he missed him or wanted him to be with LWJ, he brought him back to use him to go against JGY. In NHS's mind, WWX is the only person strong/smart enough to be able to bring JGY down. And NHS understands WWX's personality; he is someone who loves to seek justice and truth, so NHS knows that WWX will do all he can to unveil the truth behind NMJ's death (NHS was leading WWX the whole way too, so he was the puppet master). Also in the very end how JGY died really revealed something about NHS. He framed JGY and forced LXC to kill him, while knowing perfectly well how LXC felt about JGY. To me that was a very cruel and ruthless move. So basically I think WWX said that to NHS because NHS is walking some line between good and evil (which is not purely black and white to begin with) and he's the kind of person who can do anything if he puts his heart to it, so WWX was kind of giving him a warning.
Can someone explain me what spiritual incognito means ??
“Spiritual Sense (灵识 língshí) – also known as “Consciousness” or Divine Sense (神识 shénshí). An ability possessed by cultivators to scan their surroundings (far beyond the limits of their ordinary 5 senses) with their spirit. The distance/total area they can scan corresponds to the strength of their spirit. Also used in some novels to remotely control magical items such as Flying Swords.” Definition taken from here: https://immortalmountain.wordpress.com/glossary/wuxia-xianxia-xuanhuan-terms/ Not sure if that is what you're asking for but I'm bouncing off the ideas from comment above. Also it may help if you pinpoint where in the drama this was mentioned because sometimes meaning gets lost in translation
Can I just say how underrated Xu XinWen is??? She is easily one of the best vocals in the class. If only the recent collab episode with Kun came out before the voting...
True. I got into this show without knowing or thinking anything. I just jumped straight on. My expectation was…
Exactly. The cliffhanger wasn't really surprising or too dramatic for me because the entire thing was filled with so much drama already that I felt it was expected haha
This drama was sooo good.. It's really unforgettable. But somehow it makes me sad to realize that their relationship…
But is there really a need for verbal confirmation to "prove" a relationship? Also nothing wrong with it being all in your head because it had to somehow get into your head in the first place, so that tells me something about the drama made you feel it wasn't pure bromance. If that makes sense lmao
For anyone new here I just wanna say the synopsis is a huge understatement (not saying it's bad; it's a very accurate synopsis). I just find it hilarious that the first half of it describes episodes 1 and 2 then the last sentence is an understatement of all the crap that Fan Xian goes through in the remaining 42 episodes lmao. Basically, the plot is very complicated but extremely engaging. I recommend watching Season 1 even if Seasons 2 and 3 aren't out yet. Major cliffhanger, but for me personally the cliffhanger was much more worth it than having to wait another 4 or 5 years for the rest to come out.
Can someone recommend Chinese historical or wuxia drama?I watched Nirvana in Fire and will be watching Joy of…
Of course every person’s definition of “good” will vary so here are just some of the most commonly suggested ones. As for dramas that are similar to The Untamed, none of these are particularly similar because honestly The Untamed is pretty unique imo. For xianxia/wuxia: Eternal Love, Ashes of Love, Legend of Fuyao, Princess Agents are the first ones that come into my mind (all hetero couples though) I know you’re waiting for Season 2 of Joy of Life but be aware that there is also a Season 3 planned so I don’t know if you’ll plan on waiting until Season 3 comes out before starting it, which will be a very long wait. If you scan through the wuxia, historical, or fantasy tags I’m sure you’ll find a nice list of dramas you can try. There are some I haven't watched like Love and Destiny, Story of Yanxi Palace, Nirvana in Fire 2, but I've heard all are good. Then of course there is Guardian which is more fantasy but very popular when it came out (I haven't watched yet sadly)
What's the difference between this and the special edition?
This is the longer, complete version while the special edition contains many cuts and is sort of a summary version that focuses on the main leads. However, the special edition contains a small amount of scenes that don't appear in the complete version such as extras, scenes from different angles, and rearrangements of the order of scenes. They say the special edition was made for international viewers to help them understand the plot better.
In short, yes go watch it!

Spoiler: but in the novel WWX guessed that he was digging for his mother's corpse
