That Tang Ping arc is so overdone. I'm pretty sure they could have move the story forward without her constant presence. It got tiresome really quickly. I'm waiting for more scenes of second couple and then they inevitably return to having that girl show up again. 无聊！

Gulinazha looks stunning in costume as usual. I really want to see more of her in these kinds of historical dramas.

It's ridiculous how a princess consort goes out drinking with another man and use that as plot service to incite jealousy from ML and advance their relationship. The writer certainly lack ideas or sense for that matter. The story obviously does not conform to historical traditions or authenticity. A lot of people find the 2nd ML cute but he is a psycho and someone who obviously can't take the hint he's chasing a married woman.

They should have cast someone around Irene Song's height if they plan to insert height jokes. A girl who is 5'6 or 5'7 is not short. That's taller than the average woman in most of the world except for some European countries.

Thank goodness there is a better Bai Jingting drama after that train wreck Irreplaceable Love. I just recently dropped that one just a few episodes from the end. It was that bad. That was my first drama from him and I really like his acting despite the terrible plot and storyline. I like this one so much better. Great intro and hook on the first episode. Let's hope they keep this quality to the end. I'm a sucker for this kind of officer/doctor drama.

What a trash drama this has turned into and that's being kind. It was about 7.5 even 8 for 3/4 or a third of the way then basically went on a tailspin in the last dozen episodes. A train wreck.

Fast forwarded scenes until I got to episode 6 and then had to drop it. FL was feisty and assertive in the beginning but came back and turn into a doormat. Sorry but ML, his mother and her maids should all be lock up in a barn and then set it on fire. Absolutely horrible characters. Love Mark in KC and his hate there was convincing and understandable however his character here has zero reasons to act like some vengeful and scorned woman hell bent on revenge. It would have been fine if it was only him but to actually have his entire household bully FL is just plain low and petty. This is slap and kiss at its worst.

The FL is boring me to death. She has zero personality. Both of her dual personalities are off putting. One of her personality is a two faced doormat, the other one is she pretends to be some werewolf.

Crown Prince acting and emotions looks so much more natural than ML. He also has a killer smile. Shame his pairing with FL never was given a chance.

Oliver Chen would fit the bill. He is actually younger than Ryan Ding. I do like this pairing with Ryan though and would love to see it happen.

I'm loving this drama. I wouldn't call this a critics darling but it certainly got the ratings where it matters. Sometimes you just have to enjoy a show instead of judging it like some film fest entry. If you like makjang dramas then this absolutely hits the spot.

Oh please I've seen much worse acting and boring storyline in higher rated dramas. It's a frustrating drama I would agree but its certainly not uninteresting. I've managed to binge episodes of this and looking at the reception in China it looks like a lot of people are also hook.

The only character development I saw from FL is seeing her go from a naive and gullible girl to going batshit because of some needle.

Low-key wanting more CP and FL moments. I like their chemistry better than with ML.

It's fine. I would say this is average. It's pretty much your typical female lead in Chinese dramas. I've seen worse. The good news is she is not kicking and screaming all the time like 75% of FL's. Plus she is also very pretty so there'that.

I haven't read the novel but if it's anything like Fights Break Sphere then 40 episodes isn't enough for entire book unless they butcher the story. There should be at least season 2. I just hope it films right after this is done. I'm still waiting for Fights Break Sphere S2 after 2 years. For people who haven't watch that. Watch it because it's so similar to this plus Xiao Zhan was so handsome in that drama.

Goodness FL look like she's a disciple of Tang Yan's school of acting. She must have learned her skills watching Perfect Couple.

Would have love to see Janice Wu in this role. I think she and Yang Yang would make a good couple. I kinda chuckled a bit when I saw they were going to appear in a drama together but no romantic loveline. YY and WYS look divine and the story is interesting. Sadly I don't have any inclination to watch another ZLS lead drama.

I've watched The Road Home several times already and her face there was so fresh, youthful and exuberant. That face of hers has been stuck in my memory ever since. I have not watched any of her recent works so I was kinda surprise seeing her profile face in MDL and the trailer. Her face has matured a lot, not that that's bad since it natural for people to age. I just don't think she still has the youthfulness to carry the role of a teenage girl. She definitely looks her age unlike say Joe Chen who was also born in the same year, Liu Yifei who can still pass off as a teen or Ariel Lin who does not look a day older when I saw her in TKA and then seeing her more than 10 years later in I Will Never Let You Go.

I don't see Esther screaming or running wild all over the place in her dramas that much. I think your downplaying her ability.
