- the grand entrance of zhu yan with his beautiful umbrella - frown babyfaced zhuo yi chen - the first fight scene between our zhu yan and zhou yi chen - that damn great OST by liu yuning! - our beautiful and smart wen xiao - the sad scene of the rabbit demon & wenxiao - the ‘do you like my gift?’ moment (and the flashback)
every scenes embedded in my brain and it’s my testament of love towards my dearest fangs of fortune. cant wait to rewatch more eps!
with the amount of beating, im surprised many of them still get to see the light of the day (realistically, extreme violence like this surely will placed them under the care of the angel of death). and the angel of death surely being so kind to yoon si eun, guy been beaten like there’s no tomorrow and still managed to sober up over and over again.
and it’s really sad to watch that baku needs to damage baek jin’s shoulder so that the guy can’t used his hand again to beat others (but how cruel). to make someone crippled for life, it’s one of the cruelest things. i mean— why not chose for other options? if there’s a s3, why not director opt to fight the violence and bullying with something more that against violence? i love the drama— but from s1 to s2, the message the drama try to convey as if only violence can overcome violence. the cycle is repetitive and i wonder how they truly want to end this?
p/s: the amount I flinched when every characters get beaten, as if im the one who’s being hit. my lifespan reduced for 10 years 😭
i've only seen another work of liu duan duan -the rebel princess- and there he also played a layered character.…
exactly my thought! this is how when director casted the right actor for well-written character such as Wei Yan. and him being the theater actor, no wonder he can managed to pull off such delivery.

i see, no wonder. i have a plan to watch rebel princess soon and also Joy of Life (he also one of the supporting actors). imo, he’s such a good actor— the longing he had for manman, and the portrayal of sad and broken soul he portrayed really convincing.
i must say Wei Yan is such an interesting character in this drama. shout out to Liu Duan Duan, it’s my first time watching him on the screen. WY might be creepy, lustrous, and a little bit obsessive (silently), but we can’t deny this sad soul sometimes tugs at our heart. he’s such a pity character and all he ever wanted to be loved. i truly hope he will not go astray— far from being redeemable. i know he’s capable of being an evil, but i do believe his has goodness in his heart and would never hurt Wei’s family, even more his cousin and lady Qiao.
i loved the comedic moments in this drama. the secret agent squad alongside with Su Ah, they surely bunch of crackheads. but, the premise could be boring for some because the villains and the protagonists constantly in battle which one taken step further or which one left one step behind. it’s repetitive and when you thought it’s going to end, the competition gets worse. and the location of the gold? omg father, seriously? the mission completed but at what cost?! nevertheless, seo kang joon truly nailed his role here. i wish to see more of him in angsty/melodramatic dramas.
truly. it’s interesting to see this kind of premise. in most stories, the elders usually had deep rooted resentment towards those who betrayed their clan. so, this definitely a refreshing one.
i love one of the messages this drama try to convey; hatred is not necessarily be passed down toward the next generations, especially if (one side) try to amend the situation. love how the grandma constantly try to remind and persuade wei shao that the past should be left in the past, and there’s no need to constantly put the blame on the current generation.
I'm soooo living for the humor in the past few episodes. Wei Shao thrived on hate, war, and trauma, so it's understandable…
then I recommend you to watch a journey to love (if you haven’t yet watching). acted by liu yuning also as a male lead. you’ll get the the premise leader and the squad, perhaps with even more comedic moments. badass female lead.
I should’ve waited longer to start this bc i already caught up and now can’t wait for more episodes 😭😭idk…
ikr. i shared the same sentiment with you. It’s good but in the most subtle way possible. i took time savouring each episodes, currently at ep12. i loved their bickering as husband and wife, sometimes they misunderstood each other, and quickly resolved the issue. slowly builds the trust and breaks the wall between them. nothing too extraordinary, it’s just their life slowly building around each other, with the villains lurking in the hidden. loving it so far, in a subtle way.
Why is it called fox machmaker if Dongfang Huaizhu is a human ? I thought she's a fox but she doesn't have any…
Tushan Hong Hong & Tushan Yaya, they barely made an appearance in this series, because this one focusing on the human side. Dongfang Huaizhu represent the human side, one of the alliances clan, alongside the wangquan clan. the fox spirit matchmaker was the story perhaps from the demon povs (tushan clan).
The slow motion effects are truly the chef's kiss! That made those moments stunning. Why all cdrama can't have…
hahah i know the feelings. that’s exactly what we felt when we first time watching (me and the earliest watchers of FOF). and it’s either you like the slow motion effects or you hated it, there’s no in between. glad that you find it better for your liking. it’s great indeed. enjoy your watch!
