it’s always blow my mind how good short series is. i’ve watched many historical short series and they were all so good (and yes, much better than the long eps drama). perhaps, because there’s no pressure, straight to the point with little plots, they satisfy us more than the long series. but still, very much underrated. i hope more people watch this one.
i’m about to praise Feng Shiye for being fine shyt and let Qingquan to just go marrry him. but wtf the end of ep13– he’s worse than any other villains in this drama. not just what he did to Qingquan but also to the former Prince Jing. marry? no thanks!
other than the show being too short, plotwise it wasn’t the best we could get. there’s too many villains, with stupid motives. each betrayal blows my mind. not just to the ML, but them to each other (which is absurd considering gang usually very loyal to each other). nevertheless, it’s a drama worth watching for the adrenaline rush, for the thrills it makes you feel. So Ji Sub nailed his character through his sharp movements, emotions portrayed through his eyes. hopefully, we can see him comeback with a better script next time.

though it’s a bit exaggerating the way the drama portrayed the ML, constant stabbing and beating, he hardly died. anyway, that’s not the point.. the point is, this is the revenge done right and yes mercy to NONE (iykyk). now so ji sub let’s go back to romcom, or melodramatic drama, i need you to smile and laugh, enough go around killing people 😭
FL is so underrated. Love her role as Tushan Yaya in RMP and Love in Pavilion. There’s something classy about her, her demeanour and good acting. Finished Ep2 and falling in love with her already 🤍

i rewatched ep35 & 36 for probably the 5th times, and finally able to let go and move on. i cried everytime rewatching those. our dongfang huaizhu & wangquan hongye will forever be missed.
How did this get such a high rating? I admit the star studded cast and beautiful cinematography were highlights…
urgh you should have stayed for a bit longer. it’s the ending that actually worth watching, the acting from the last few episodes truly save the drama. and it’s main leads acting that give a lasting impression, the one that probably gives the decent rating. it’s a well done ending— with remarkable acting.

yeah, but you need to remember, at first she’s convinced that he’s not her brother (she trusted her instict). but the imposter constantly lied to her in order to convince that he is, and then once he make a bold move (by kissing her), i dont find it weird. he knew they weren’t siblings. that’s why he dared to do that.

finally finished this drama today. overall, i am satisfied. plot wise is indeed a good storyline, a decent one even. amazing chemistry and perfectly cast! while it’s not without flaws, i think it is still successfully convey its messages.
what i loved the most about the drama is that from the first few eps, it’s already tell us the direction it’s going to take. from the first time the male lead laid his eyes on the female lead, we know where the story going to headed. hence, i didnt feel cheated or expect something else to occur. love that the main lead had their own directions, principles, beliefs and motives. together, they weathering the storms, cleared the misunderstanding and solved their problems with mutual trust. while i love liu yuning’s acting, i can say without a doubt, that song zuer is a brilliant actress and shine brighter in her role as manman. our fl is a strong headed lady, with guts in her hands. chef kiss performance by liu duan duan, good acting by supporting characters. this surely deserving the rating 9/10.
