This drama had so much potential to be EPIC because of the story, the Romeo & Juliette theme, the intense male lead, the friendships…but the editing, story development and flow have messed it up. Takes me out of the moment as I watch. In the scene of You & Xing wedding, I swear they repeated the scene of MQY and Shangguang standing next to each other!?! Lazy editing and post- production. It’s too bad because I really love the main couples from new and old generations.
Zhou Yiran is the really the one carrying this! If it weren’t for him, probably the rating will be lower.
I hope the story can end well and that MQY and CZ can have a HE…but it’s hard to see how this will unfold and also there are lots of foreshadowing that it may be a SE 😔
The only way our main couple can be together is to expose the identity and evil acts of the man / men in black. They can’t run away, there’s no way CZ will let her family, friends, Luoyang town, annd the martial world be at the mercy of the MIB. So while I’m sad that this story might not end well if they don’t succeed, I think this is the only way.
How can the 6 sect leaders condemn MQY for (Taishu Temple) Wang's death?!?He was about to reveal the identity of the man in black when he got stabbed from behind! CZ was there next to MQY and saw everything. Why not trust CZ? How must she have felt? The leaders are dumb & corrupt, wanting to conveniently place the blame on the Li Sect. This part was annoying.

If the man in black is Cai Zhou's shifu, and Nie Zhe answers to the man in black, then was the face swap scheme Nie Zhe & his strategist's idea or CZ shifu? I realize Nie Zhe & strategist don`t know the man in black`s identity, so they could be working independently, or maybe it is the shifu`s scheme but if this is the case, I don`t understand why the shifu planned this. Is it to test CZ`s ability to save him? Is man in black dictating all of Nie Zhe / demon sect's actions? Like even the Chang Fort massacre? Maybe I have to read the book!
I thought that too, all clues are pointing to Qi Yun Ke. But if it’s him then how does it make sense that he was kidnapped during the face swap arc? I don’t get it. The strategist was supposed to be the mastermind of that scheme and reported back to the Nie guy who was really pissed that the plan didn’t work!?!
What!?! Ping Shu killed her own love? Is this in the novel? Will they change it for the drama? That is too tragic 😞 but what about the arm bands she gave to ML’s father (shown in the preview)? Seems like ML dad and Ping Shu were the ones in love?!

Finally caught up! Rocky start with the jarring editing for me but now used to it and really liking the story. ZYR is REALLY good as MQY, but not sure about BSG…their visuals together look great, beautiful couple, and her fighting style is pretty good but she’s kinda expressionless 😑.
The first 8 episodes were kinda slow and I wasn't sure if it was for me, but after that, I really enjoyed HDY!…
how there were not 3 but 4 levels of "reality". It took a while but finally understood all the levels after Xie Yong Er said she's a transmigrator from A city, lol! The ending was too rushed though and wasn't sure what happened between the fireworks scene and the subway scene. I feel like I have to go to the anime / manga to fully appreciate the story.
Also, I didn't catch it, but the main leads were talking about how there were 4 transmigrators...who was the 4th?
