The first 8 episodes were kinda slow and I wasn't sure if it was for me, but after that, I really enjoyed HDY! I really love CL here & would rewatch just for his scenes 💓. He really showed his range & talent.
it was so confusing but you'll learn about it all soon, idk if you finished already
Yes! It's been a few days since I finished. I liked it even though sometimes it was not easy to follow what was going on, like I'm still confused about how Jing Yuan was able to save young Bai Shuo and her sister. Didn't he die 60,000 yrs before? Also I was affected by all the deaths of the side characters, I became too attached to them especially Mu Jiu. The opening song & credits still haunt me to this day, very moving!
I'm halfway through & enjoying so far! I kinda predicted the relationship between the FL & 2FL before her flashback, but now wondering about the symbol that showed up on Chong Zhao's forehead & what it means. I like how these little mysteries pop up and can't wait to find out about them!
It was good! I liked the story especially the beginning with the competition among all the guys vying for Shan Bao's hand in marriage 😉, up until finding out YBL was an imposter. After that, it felt like a different drama when it moved to the capital & Lu Jiang Lai became so helpless & weak (~ep 30 or 31). It wasn't all that bad, but admittedly was confused about the abrupt change in his character. Nice music & scenery too especially the tea farms 🌿 Such great world building that I"d watch it again.
Ngl it was a very smart move for them to add that final childhood flashback of Pei and Xiao together. The "WHAT…
Yes! His story & wrap up was handled really well. I felt really bad for him, but hopeful at the end that he'll be ok. I really love this drama! Everything, esp PZ story, really made it so good!

I really liked that childhood flashback too, being kind & looking out for his young step-brother. From a young age, he already took on a lot of responsibility & always listened to his father. Felt so bad about how his father abused him even as an adult, and him never fighting back because he is ever the obedient son. I'm glad he apologized & made peace with XZY & himself in the end. Loved their goodbye scene 🥲
If anyone hasn’t moved on from this drama, missing Rongcheng City & wanna watch similar setup like Republican…
Oooooh thanks for the rec! I'm now a fan of CXX after LBL and will check it out.. just started Love in Turquoise Land with him as ML but it is pretty scary 😱 so I'm not sure if I can continue🫣
What a wonderful drama! 💕 I loved everything about it, and I feel it truly raises the bar for future Cdramas, not just in this genre, but for all others considering how masterful the storytelling, acting, production, pacing, dialogue, really everything, was! This is higher than a 10!
Ugh! XZY's mother is selfish, short sighted & doesn't care about her son. 😡 Can't wait until she finds out the truth!!! Also PZ so despicable! 😡 I don' think he can redeem himself.
Very original story, especially liked...
