How come no scolding?

I get it that he loves and forgives his sister and he overall likes his man Hardy, but both of them needed to be severely scolded to understand just how much trouble they caused. They both want Quanquan in Xi Qi's life, but their foolishness put that at serious risk. It's the kind of thing that needs to be said so that everyone is clear on the potential consequences of meddling in someone else's personal life. But for some reason, the writers have made Xi Qi - brutal CEO boss who never hesitates to be critical of others ... doesn't say anything to either? Just like when he had a clear chance to explain to Min Hui that the custody lawsuit was mistakenly filed by his sister, he just stands suddenly tongue-tied? If real people communicated as poorly as drama writers imagine, then the world would grind to a halt. Still I'm glad they avoided the trope of the elder sister actually being a villain in opposition to the FL. She was well-meaning but just completely misinformed. So there is hope this misunderstanding could get resolved soon and not dragged out for 10 episodes.

Confused, intrigued and already suspicious

I spent a good chunk of this episode trying to figure out what was going on 😂 There are clearly a lot of connections and backstory being introduced.😱 LWX being blamed for her professor’s death and called his mistress was brutal. The moment she looked like she might jump genuinely had me worried.⚽ My favourite scene was LWX chasing the school boy to get the football returned. A little bit of chaos amongst all the heavier moments 😂👀 Somehow LWX is connected to two deaths and there also seems to be some history or connection between her and WF.💭 I don’t fully understand everything yet, but I’m intrigued. Also, visually speaking, LWX and WF are both gorgeous on screen 😂Current verdict: confused but intrigued.

Master of disguises

Lol, how he used so many different disguises for different situations... but she could easily connect the dots and understand that it was someone pretending. I love how smart she is! And I love how versatile he is with his ways of deception. 🤗😏And the best thing? They actually think alike about almost everything — that she had to add poison, when the imperial guards would come and what they would do, and so many other situations... I really can't wait for their games against each other and eventual team-up... 😊And whatever he says to Tian Yuan, it's clear as a cloudless sky that he's smitten. And not only him — I am quite sure the 9th prince is too! 🤭

Strong start

The story starts off very strong! I think this is one of the best premieres I've seen this year.🤩We got a female lead, reincarnated into another woman's body, whose mind is set on revenge. She is beautiful, decisive, ruthless, strategic, cunning, and smart — a very deadly combination! 😊 No wonder the 9th prince said she's beautiful with a venomous heart. 😏And the male lead has an expiration date due to the poison he got when he was nine years old. He's out in search of the poisoner to get his revenge and also, I suppose, to find a cure. But, oh boy, he's capable in combat... those archery skills? And with his eyes blindfolded? AMAZING! 👏 And he's cunning and smart too, even if he's often a step behind our FL. 🤭I really want to see them together — full of moves to outsmart each other, eventually leading to falling in love (which is actually in neither of their plans) and working as a team/allies. 🤗But the best part? Him alone betting on himself (this just gave me such an ACOTAR vibe, even though I know it's completely different)! 😏

Microscopic Feelings Are Still Feelings

I think we’re seeing the start of Shen Xihe getting feelings for Xiao Huayong. Very small. Barely there. But feelings all the same 😂🌸Their moment in the garden watching the pond and moss light up the evening was so pretty and quietly romantic. Xiao Huayong has already fallen headfirst while Shen Xihe is apparently taking the scenic route towards feelings.😂At the flower banquet, the other princesses clearly wanted to put Shen Xihe in her place. Unfortunately, they picked the wrong woman. She turns the whole thing back on them with a little help from Xiao Huayong. I love these two schemers working together.👀I actually felt for Shen Ying Ruo. She has a close somewhat intimate relationship with the Second Prince but he’s made it known his interest in marry her sister, so she’s genuinely surprised when Shen Xihe says she doesn’t plan to marry him.👀Shen Xihe also makes it clear she won’t let him marry Shen Ying Ruo either because his actions have already proven his character… and apparently it’s not that great.😂The slow burn has officially started burning. Very, very slowly. Xiao Huayong is completely gone and Shen Xihe’s feelings have moved approximately 0.5%. I’ll take it.

Ouch. Direct Hit.

Xiao Huayong is a bit like a lovesick puppy whenever he’s around Shen Xihe and it’s adorable. She’s all business while he’s basically fangirling over her 😂💕When Shen Xihe saves him, obviously completely clueless about it, he just falls a little more in love. Sir is already gone.👀The poisoning mystery is getting interesting. Xiao Huayong meets with the imprisoned King Kang believing he’s behind his poisoning, only for him to say the Crown Prince needs to look closer to home and remember who fed him the poisoned cherries.If this really leads back to his father… WHY?!😭Xiao Huayong finally stepping forward to ask for Shen Xihe’s hand in marriage was such an awww moment. Then she responds that she wants someone she can grow old with.Ouch. Direct hit.😂Especially when everyone keeps saying Xiao Huayong doesn’t have long to live. She really unknowingly chose maximum emotional damage.👀The romance is adorable, Xiao Huayong is falling harder and now I’m suspicious of his own father. Still seated.
