So Xia Jing Shi thinks he's manipulating Yi Xiao via sympathy for his poisoned condition

but in actuality, she is using his poisoned condition as an excuse to feign sympathy and concern in order to try to get him to drop his guard. Weiran's simply not very smart and already has given himself away. This episode, like the last one, moves very slowly as it is basically one conversation after another filling out exposition and details. Not bad, but kinda treading water. Watching Yi Xiao pretend to be nice to Xia Jing Shi is okay at a plot level but it's also cringe because he's so slimy. I hope they don't drag this phase out too much longer. We get maybe 2-3 minutes tops with both Fu Yi Xiao and Feng Sui Ge in the same room in this episode and that doesn't help. Also, the directorial technique of constantly doing close-ups on a character tightly clenching their fist to indicate anger/tension/whatever is getting old. Way over-used so far in this drama. Maybe they should rename this show, "Fated Fists"??

Acceptance

One can be gay and be Catholic, and acceptance helps overcome the guilt. After several episodes of deep and heavy feelings, the script chose a lighter story. This trope has been told in so many ways, but unique for a Thai. Watching a show about Catholics in Thailand is refreshing. Watching the struggle of a gay Catholic, nothing new. I am glad the church is not portrayed in an evil way because the Church doctrines are not, these are the scriptures we follow. Like other faiths, they have their own doctrines. I guess the writer can only present this type of ending, O can already hear the uproar of it were to end differently. But to be honest, there are gay Priests and it doesn’t make them bad. Some actions are bad. It’s giving up the flesh, whether a seminarian is straight or gay that’s the true sacrifice. And this series is not about that sacrifice, it’s accepting one’s sexuality.

Where is all the romance?

I liked the fact that the series gave Blew a little more personality and initiative. But at the same time they killed Vayo. Where is all that charm and joy that she used when talking to her crushes? She seems to be afraid of Blew even after they finally get together. Did she get depression after the whole escape?Cant wait to see some life in THE FIRE

Raw emotions

From the very beginning I’ve known that ticket to heaven was gonna be a masterpiece, but wow episode 2 was so well done and it fully exceeded my expectations. The start of Barth and Tanrak’s friendship, the little secrets they’d have together from the get go, finding each other alone and just being in each others company. But wow, I’m amazed. This entire episode was Tanrak’s realization of his feelings, his ‘desires’, and getting lost into them. The soundtrack really helps putting the feelings into perspective as well, which is amazingly done. The last 10 minutes were simply incredible and insanely personal and it really hit me. The last shot as well, where he’s in the bathroom and we see all those shots of the saints painting, with ‘ticket to heaven’ at last, knowing that to go to heaven, means not the be pulled in by desires. Also props to Gemini and Fourth for being amazing actors, but for this episode I really want specifically appreciate Fourth’s acting and how he was able to bring so much raw emotion to his character and really portray that realization of being queer as catholic in a very realistic way. This is such a cinematic masterpiece.

Four Stars

I liked this 1st ep a lot despite the loud and always yelling Detective Dojima. I like a good procedural and I haven' watched a Jdrama one in a while. I thought it hit the right emotional notes for the first case and confirming the cause of death was excellent and heartbreaking. The actor palying Ryoya was absolutely fantastic.

Ok, I was annoyed that Mizuki's parents are even in Japan but that being said, I liked the converstaion she has with her mother the one she had with her father. I was also glad Sano was able to jump.

What a series !

What a series ! It tackles a very sensitive issue and yet it delivers something positive. It makes you think and ponder all that we hold dear to us - God, the self, love, faith and thier relationship with each other. The actors delivered a very moving performance and I admire Fourth more especially in portraying a person who struggles with faith and love. There is something in his eyes that you can see through the emotions of doubt, loneliness and joy ! I can still remember vividly the sadness in his eyes in the early part of the series ! What an actor ! Gemini too delivered a good performance but the more challenging part, I think went to Fourth and it requires him to deliver different emotions and the struggles which can only be felt in his actions and particularly through his eyes. This series surely will open our own eyes to the many positive aspects of love - including gay love !

So we now know conclusively that Xia Jing Shi and Xiao. Wei Ran were involved with FL's fall

They are both involved with hiding what happened on the cliff from her. What isn't completely clear is just how much aligned they both seem to have other agendas. Fu Yi Xiao seems to have figured out that at least Xia Jing Shu was involved and seemed absolutely disgusted by him trying to hold his hand, but she is acting towards him as if she trusts him. So the schemes within schemes is starting to get rolling.

Nice wrap-up

The wrap-up was beautiful actually. I don‘t think there were any loose ends left, except maybe I didn’t understand why Liao Jinshan wasn’t arrested. Was it because of that help with the investigation he got offered two episodes ago? 🤔 I thought he believed it was a trap and didn’t accept the offer. But that’s not important anymore. 🤷‍♀️Despite the very bumpy road of the plot-car, in the end, this was an OK watch. 😌 I felt the romance brewing throughout the whole story even if Fei and Yifei didn’t. I might have wanted more, but I am accepting what I got, which is way more than I’ve got in some other dramas with an earlier romance. 🤭🥰But I was a little disappointed with Fei’s reaction when she learned who Yifei’s father is. 😑 Without even talking to him, she just jumped to conclusions, locked him out of the house, and blocked his phone… It’s good that the story made up for that, otherwise I wouldn't forgive them for ruining an overall enjoyable finale. 😒

Desapointing

A Lom perdeu a vida nessa série. Ela parecia mais feliz com os affaira dela do que com a esposa. Decepcionante.

EP01 | Mary Poppins, But Make It K-Drama Romance 🌂

SPOILERSCha Ji Yun is already having a TIME. An unexpected blind date at lunch, getting drunk and falling into her boss’s arms… then her boyfriend leaves and only sends her a TEXT?! Sir?!I already really like Cha Ji Yun. Our girl seems to have a talent for landing in the most awkward situations imaginable but somehow bouncing back.Seo In Guk is giving us plenty of visuals and I’m not complaining. There are definitely little remnants of his Doom at Your Service character in Kang Si U and I see it.The whole episode had this really whimsical feel, but that umbrella scene absolutely sent me. ML and FL flowing towards each other under umbrellas like Mary Poppins but make it K-drama romance.Quirky, whimsical and already giving me ridiculous romantic moments. I’m in.

Necessary but annoying

Right now, the scenes of Fu Yi Xiao spending time with her former 'brothers' make sense because she's looking for clues to restore her memory. But they are, frankly, annoying and kinda skippable. The Ning Fei character is just absurdly annoying and Weiran is clearly super-cautious about something that probably won't be revealed until later. So these scenes are a drag and annoying. Overall, the pace of things has really slowed down with the whole "Xia Jing Shi reunion" as there is a lot of slow back & forth exposition around his backstory with Yi Xiao and the maneuvering between those two and of course Feng Sui Ge.
