I know the OST is chinese drama style whatever that means. But there's one scene that totally encapsulated the whole series where I gasped and instantly fell in love with the OST and decided I'll watch this to the end.Production wise I know the team did their best in research. From the perspective of an intermediate chinese speaker, some actors chinese is ok but we can tell some recite scripts only, but the effort to not use voice over can be appreciated. It's decent and well produced, and I like the idea and social commentary, although pacing wise it's nothing special. And the ensemble can act, there's no awkward cardboard acting from all the cast. That's very good coming from thai series. The purposed intense scenes can make you glued to the screen. I like the actor for Li Pou, you can tell his totality for the role, although the chinese can be improved, but it makes sense since he's a thai shaman serving a chinese villain. The main actors for Niran and Pete are good, but I've seen their other works and I'm sure they could do better than this. The supporting casts are quite solid. The actors for Fei, Jia Hao, and Tong can act too. I think the preparation time for this project is limited for the actors, but the team did deep research and I appreciate that.I watched since EP 2 and has keep watching each week with anticipation, that's a praise in itself because I'm not hesitant to drop series at any point if it's not good enough.Overall, it's a decent series to watch. I'm rating this very honestly.

At the fire inspection gamer Cheng gets away to track down his auntie spy and tell her to stop it. Turns out it’s his mom.😂 They actually have a very cute moment and it’s clear that the son takes after his mom with the spying ways. This I enjoyed watching. I know it’s supposed to be cute and funny how he’s stalking her, but it really isn’t. He’s a very sweet character that is annoying the hell outa me rather than entertaining me. When he tells his mom he knows what he’s doing I can only roll my eyes.😝🙄He is now jeopardizing his job because he’s supposed to be writing the fire safety inspection report for the team and he hasn’t paid one bit of attention to any of it. He’s not 16 and shouldn’t be interrupting his boss’ meeting to chat with his mom when it’s not an emergency. The elevator scene is funny because now YiFei looks for excuses to keep the door open for her. His colleague has reason to be confused. YiFei’s jealousy that his friend is helping his assistant is priceless.🤣😂 His interjections are very similar to his buddy Cheng’s they do not go over well. He is so smooth with business chat and so uncool with his flirting lines. 😝His frustrated dance when alone in the elevator was deserved. 🤣😂 His friend again does a sweet thing with bad results. He knows his crush is hungry and orders food for her. But she’s playing live online and doesn’t appreciate the fan interruption. She has no clue he likes her and thinks he is an overzealous fan that doesn’t have boundaries. Luckily she respects her friend and doesn’t want to cause her roomie embarrassment so she agrees not to call the police this time. When he tells YiFei, he thinks it’s a joke but really has no clue what his friend has been doing or he would have given him different counsel. Like QUIT STALKING.😝Cheng has a chat with his parents and has them thinking he will be getting a promotion. When Yi Fei gets home there is a do not disturb sign in Qian Fei’s door because she is studying. Ms Fang suggests she’s been used by YiFei and she is being an ijit and believing her. He didn’t tell her to shut up but her sure didn’t tell her to soout all that at the meeting. That was in her about Wang. He has done nothing but encourage her and she wants to see through Fang’s bias. I am really annoyed with her because he has made his feelings clear about Fang from the start, but never once discouraged her from working for her. He even assisted with report to get Fang’s attention. He called her to be his assistant to take some of the heat off for her after outburst and minimize the ostracizing the group was doing with her. If she would just read the room it’s pretty damn clear. But for now, she can’t take her idol glasses off. I still get mixed vibes from Fang. She is a hard task master and I still can’t decide if she’s trying to mentor or take advantage of smarts and then kick underling to curb. It’s only 50/50 that she would not do the latter. So now Cheng is trying a new approach….death by delivery 🤣😂 Track guy had good reason to laugh but it’s gonna cost him. His parents deserve the shock for taking his phone.😂😝 Qian Fei took up the challenge to find a solution. She left work to go to Shanlifang conference room to figure out the books. YiFei knows something is wrong but hasn’t had a chance to chat to figure out why. He should have known to check the office first. 😝Qian Fei has created a plan for them and sent to Fang. Yi Fei sees her plan but can’t figure out her change in attitude. Qian Fei has converged the work ethics of Fang and YiFei as her new armor. This will help when dealing with Wang but she is giving YiFei a huge shield and cold attitude. She has chosen to be Fang’s blade. 🙄🫣

Haixia has such a villain aura already... And those grey strands in his hair? Looks gorgeous, I must say. 🥺🖤He now just walks around easily killing everyone, so much so that it's devastating to watch. 💔 BUT, I think he's not gone yet. I noticed the watch on his wrist, and I can only guess whether it's the one with the hermit crab he left on the table some episodes ago. If it is, could it possibly serve as a beacon in the consuming darkness to help him stay on his task and remind him of who he actually is? 🧐I know he's not devoted to Mo Yungao, because he looks at him and some of his men quite annoyed, even desiring to finally kill them. 😒⚔️ Maybe he just uses them to get to Bailejing and then get rid of them? 🤷♀️The moment he and Hailou noticed each other through the crack in the floor was so heartbreaking. 😭🤧 Haixia's face was just washed over with a mixed expression of joy, longing, guilt, and self-loathing. He's sane enough to know what path he's walking, and that's nothing he would want Hailou to see. However, him helping Hailou and their group to stay unnoticed and sending the guards the other way will cost him dearly... 🤐 Mo Yungao observed all of this "betrayal" from a distance through binoculars... I know Haixia is capable and craving to kill, but I am still worried about what this will bring upon him. 😰

Episode 4 was also so perfect - it captures the joy and beauty of young love so perfectly. I feel like because this is Tanrak's first time experiencing such feelings, he's really letting himself follow his heart and letting himself be happy and choosing not to face the heavy thoughts yet (we've all been there). His happiness really shines through here and it's just so so precious. Fourth really did this character so much justice, his eyes and expressions alone can carry the essence and the pureness of Tanrak's character. And this is contrasted so well with Barth who is so firm in his disillusionment of religion - again Gemini really embodied this so so well in his acting. I felt like this episode was very very nuanced which is a testament to p'Aof's skill as a director. The entire episode felt much lighter, almost like a breath of fresh air after the last 2 very heavy and emotionally intense episodes. While things were happier and more upbeat, there is still this lingering sensation of dread and anxiety and trepidation throughout. And it's so subtle but it's there - small moments in the character's facial expressions, certain things they say, certain music choices. Urgh, just so good, everything is just really 10/10 across the board!!

I waited all episode to see how Haixia is doing and, oh boy—he has become Mo Yungao's adjutant... 😨 Now they will wreak havoc and cause mass murder together... 🥺😰I guess this episode was more or less about a month after Haiqi got sick, so that explains why some things have changed. But I must thank Haiqi and Hailou for their travel to Bailejing. It gave a little lighter, adventurous vibe, letting me put aside for a moment all the worry I have for Haixia's growing darkness and tragic arc. 😔🙏Hailou becoming the next Director of Archives was a nice touch to his story. He deserves it, and the way he started to poach all those random people just so he could have someone in the Archives... It was heartwarming and actually a little sad at the same time. 🥹❤️🩹 He tries to hide it, but he's pensive so often and that sadness in his eyes—he knows the moment he may become alone comes closer. 😢 I actually think he should recruit Cousin if he ever meets him again. ☝️🤧But one mystery piqued my mind the most—what's happening in Bailejing and why would they need so many corpses? Has it something to do with Twilight Grass again or something else? I probably didn't pick up all the hints that were given, but that's enough to start asking... 🤔
