“Dad, today I made a plan.”
what begins as a dark comedy about a family of con artists infiltrating the home of a family too rich for their own good quickly becomes one of the most engaging and shocking films i’ve ever seen (and even though i haven’t seen many, that still speaks volumes). easily one of the best as well. i’m definitely not smart enough to write hundreds of words like i usually can explaining why exactly this movie works (so if you're looking for a proper review and not just my notes, check out any other one on here), as it’s a feeling far more visceral and personal that i can’t properly put into words, but it’s something i’m sure everyone who’s watched this film can relate to. the feeling of sighing at your computer screen once the film ends, sighing minutes and hours later as you recall what you’ve just watched, knowing that it’s changed you in some form that you can’t exactly give a name. truly just a wonderful film. Was this review helpful to you?
“You have to win at your life.”
a perfect blend of heartwarming and action-packed moments that keeps you at the edge of your seat as jeong-do becomes more familiar with being a marital arts officer and we follow his journey in catching those who refuse to atone. the first half was filled with lots of fun and more lighthearted moments before the turning point in the middle of the film, leading into the tense second half where all the characters we’ve met so far work together to take down the most disgusting character i’ve seen in media in a while. bonus points for the satisfying ending. team chicken dinner on top.Was this review helpful to you?
saw Jisoo on poster
We booked their early screening because we saw Jisoo on the poster. Have no idea it's a game-like story, they get gold coins for survival. I think this will be entertaining for those who like this game-like movie where they have to clear scenarios like some sort of level in game.(?) Though I only get excited with Jisoo's scene which appears almost towards the end, I'd still say the best part of this movie is the cast. (We actually wanted to leave after an hour because Jisoo still hasn't shown up lol)I don't click with the main storyline that much but my other favorite character is the bad guy with white hair. I kind of want to be on his side.
Monsters cgi looked bad bad like that early 1990s movie. The background on Jisoo scenes look like they sloppily pasted her on that scene with AHS, Nana, Soobin. Idk she could run fast like superman lol. Jisoo character is scary rude and cold when she talks to AHS. Her motto is to survive or die, like I'd cry if if she say that to my face. I was told after that she's rude and bratty also funny in the book. The part where she wipes her tears of guilt while looking away from AHS got me chills.
There's no scene with LMH, but I remember they say they're like a team when I saw the news last year. I want to see Jisoo with Soobin after Soobin admitted that she's scary but there's no more, Jisoo only has 5 scenes and 4 are with AHS. The classroom scene is too short and was also told they cut one scenario that should show Jisoo with her god of sword stuff. So that's too bad they ditched cool stuff. Her last scene looks majestic but the moster has bad cgi too.
AHS and LMH did their part well I guess idk the book. I don't sense anything awkward from the cast acting. Nana character has cool fighting scene but her story per se isn't that interesting on screen or maybe because she doesn't talk much but still another interesting part of the movie. Soobin is too cutesy and kind, the boy is super cute and childish, the military guy was just..there, but good acting.

Waste of time
Waste of time, money and an awesome cast. This is the worst adaptation I've ever seen in my life. Feels like the cheapest, most stupid and laziest version of the story. This had so much potential! I just hate this. As a fan, if you only included a couple real fans in the decision-making process, this could've been so much better. This made me feel pure disappointment and resentment towards the director and the responsables of this mess. Was this review helpful to you?
none of this will have spoilers unless you haven't watched the drama version
OK. Where to start...?I first want to discuss the pacing of the drama.
I had known about the 8 episode drama since it first came out, but I only just realised the film existed which is necessary to watch to understand everything. Just as a FYI, I did watch the film today pretty much immediately finishing the drama. One thing I noticed about the drama is how off course it sometimes got at times, and as I was about to start episode 8, all I could think about is why the siblings didn't talk to each other about their father, and I honestly still don't understand. Anyways, as I was watching thinking about how off course the drama went, I still understood that it was more about building the bigger picture and wanting everything to fall into place, and as far as I know, it is based off of a manga, so book-to-screen adaptations can be tough (which the drama does discuss funnily enough).
So, by the time I started the film, I was confused about why everything felt so rushed. Everything they had spent time building upon and expanding (from characters to plot) felt wasted in the film if I'm being completely honest.
Now onto the baddie...as happy as I was to see Nino in this role, I was so disappointed by the end of his film with how little he was developed. We spend 8 episodes of a drama and then a 2-hour film only for him to fall so flat as a character.
I do wonder why they chose to finish it off with a film (maybe so it's more dramatic?), but I think they could've just created a second season and sort out the pacing.
Regardless, I still enjoyed watching it and have already found a playlist on Spotify to stream the songs!!

I wanted to love this movie SO BAD
We are introduced to our protagonist, the ‘breadwinner’ Bambi, who is living her entire life - working one job after another, in Taiwan, with the hopes of building a house for and supporting her family back in Philippines. Once she’s convinced that her new home is almost complete, she decides to go back home and surprise her family… clueless to the shock that awaits her instead.I do think the heart of this story was in the right place, but boy oh biboy! the execution was so bad that even though I am interested in the premise of the plot, I can’t bring myself to recommend it to other people. The movie sadly suffers with the very basic requirements of storytelling. The structure, continuity, character motives, character developments and tonality is all over the place.
The movie feels half an hour too long where they waste time with choatic “funny” sidelines where jokes don’t land, and having the same arguments again and again when just a scene ago it seemed like they’ve already talked through it. The climatic breakdown scene could have been impactful but it feels tiring instead to see the siblings have the very same arguments again, and then magically resolve everything in the most cop-out fashion with no actual takeaways. The ending doesn’t bring anything to the narrative, because none of the siblings changed because they grew as people but rather because life happened to them and so they changed their ways to wrap up the film (you'll understand if you watch it).
I wish a better film with a tighter script is made on this story, so I can then recommend it unhesitatingly.

Extremely boring
I started watching A Rose and a Tulip because it sounded interesting, but I was disappointed almost straight away. The storyline didn’t grab my attention at all. It felt slow and confusing, and nothing exciting really happened. I kept waiting for it to get better, but it just didn’t.The acting wasn’t strong enough to make up for the boring plot. None of the characters stood out, and their emotions didn’t feel real to be honest. I tried to like it, but it felt like there was no real energy in the scenes.
I tried to give the drama a proper chance to see if it would improve. But I honestly got so bored, I had to switch to something else. It just wasn’t enjoyable to watch.
Overall, I would give it a 2.5 out of 10

what did i watch?
i mean reading the sypnosis i had an idea, but ngl this felt so weird, girls and guys reversed? ok, a guy is the one who get period? ok, and he is the one who get pregnant? ok but it feels off probably because it doesnt help that the girl was manipulating him (at least 2 times in those 9 mins movie) into not wearing condom and if he refuses to sleep with her then she says he doesnt love her, like "you dont love me" etc so he give up ,which feels like a red flag to me, its disturbing that his gf keep pressuring him into things he doesnt want to do and he was crying scared that he got pregnant ,a very weird short movieWas this review helpful to you?
That's why Japanese and Chinese adaptations are way superior
As fan of the original work, I can't express my disappointment in words. Don't know why, I had a bit of hope with this one, but they totally messed this up. The ones who didn't read the novel may have enjoyed it though, but as an adaptation it is horrendous. And what the fish is this CGI? Feels like filmed on iphone 7 edited on capcut!I don't have any complain with the cast, most of them did a good job. Everyone on twitter was on Jisoo's ass, but she did very decent job. Did great for the chunk of screen time she got.
Hyo-seop also done good, though lee min-ho could have dine better. The most fu*ked up thing is the plot. But its totally on the director and screenwriter. Seems like they only cared about big name actors and haven't even read the novel.
I don't want to watch any future part of this s###

The Red Envelope – Hilarious, Heartfelt & A Ghostly Gay Wedding to Remember!
Just finished The Red Envelope and I had an absolute blast! 😂💀 Over 2 hours of nonstop laughter, chaotic moments, and surprisingly emotional scenes — I loved every minute.Yes, this Thai version is 99% similar to the original Taiwanese film Marry My Dead Body, but let me be honest — it’s funnier. The comedic timing was on point, the jokes hit harder, and I laughed so much my face hurt!
Seeing Billkin and Kris together again was such a treat. I missed them so much since I Told Sunset About You and I Promised You the Moon. Their chemistry here is completely different, but just as entertaining. Kris is stunning — seriously, the camera loves him 😍 — and both actors absolutely nailed their roles with charm and humor.
💥 My favorite scene? 100% the dinner table scene where Meen unlocks Titi’s phone and that gay porn sound starts blasting. His fake “spicy food” acting to cover it up had me crying with laughter. Comedy gold! 🔥🍽️📱
💒 What I really loved about the Thai version was that we got both a traditional ghost wedding and a Western-style wedding ceremony. It was such a beautiful and meaningful touch — and honestly, Billkin and Kris deserve this. They gave us everything and more. 🥰👬💍
Whether you watch the Thai or the original Taiwanese version, I highly recommend either — or both! They each bring something unique. But if you're in the mood for pure fun and laugh-out-loud moments, this Thai remake absolutely delivers. 🎉🇹🇭👨❤️👨

This is NOT it
As a reader and a k-pop fan, I'm truly disappointed with this. Let me break it down.1. I don't really mind the cast as long as they can act, but they genuinely wasted Im Siwan. He would've fit better as Kim Dokja, and all the Novel/webtoon readers agree with that.
2. They made Kim Dokja hate TWSA, which is literally the only thing that kept him alive.
3. They made Jung Heewon Kim Dokjas favorite character in the TWSA. Kim Dokja himself stated that Jung Heewon is just an extra who was supposed to die. Yoo Joonghyuk is clearly his favorite. If you read it, you can see that all he yaps about Yoo Joonghyuk being a "Handsome Bastard" and "Handsome Protagonist". If you notice how Kim Dokja looks at Yoo Joonghyuk in the webtoon/manhwa, you'll know that it's not just admiration.
4. What did they do to Bihyung?????? Bihyung is a terrifying creature that hosts for the constellation. If you can see in the first chapters, he is NOT cutesy. They literally made him into a labubu mixed with Doraemon.
4. They used Kim Jisoos fame as a k-pop idol to make the movie sell out.

Watched this one for my alphabet challenge. It’s an okay movie—nothing groundbreaking, but it does offer a touching reflection on life, love, and sacrifice.Story about Kim Su Jin (SJ), a woman who has just ended her relationship with a married man. Heartbroken and lost, she wanders the streets and stops by a convenience store. There, she buys a Coke but accidentally leaves it on the counter. Remembering it moments later, she heads back—only to see a man holding a Coke. Thinking it's her Coke and that the man just wants a free drink, SJ chugs the Coke in one gulp in front of him. But she later finds out it isn't hers. So, yeah, a classic awkward moment where you just consume something that belongs to a complete stranger.
The next day, SJ sees the same man again while accompanying her father on a site visit to a construction project he’s in charge of. Turns out, he’s one of the foremen—Choi Chul Soo (CS)—a carpenter with aspirations of becoming an architect.
They get to know each other, and soon SJ falls in love with him. It turns out SJ's love isn't unrequited; CS also reciprocates her feelings.
Their relationship grows, but they soon face their first challenge: SJ’s father. Given her father’s high status, CS is nervous about being rejected for not coming from the same background. And he’s not wrong—SJ’s father initially disapproves. But seeing the determination in his daughter’s eyes, he eventually gives his blessing.
After getting married, CS finally passes his architect exam. Life seems perfect—until SJ receives devastating news about her health.
In a moment of fear and selflessness, SJ asks for a divorce and wants to return to her family, not wanting to burden CS. But CS refuses. To him, “in sickness and in health” isn’t just a vow—it’s a promise—so he won’t leave her side. She’s his responsibility, not hers to carry alone.
As her condition worsens faster than expected, the question looms: will they stay together, or will SJ return to her family?
That's pretty much the story without giving too much spoiler. Now what I like and don't.
What I like:
+ A relatable story about how illness can change everything—especially in young love.
+ A very human portrayal of illness and love—it makes you wonder what you'd do in a similar situation.
+ It was quite shocking to realize that such an illness can affect someone so young.
+ Happy to see how CS stays by SJ’s side even after her health deteriorates.
What feel lack:
- From the beginning, we never really learn much about SJ’s past relationship. Did she know her boyfriend was married from the start, or did she only find out later when his wife confronted her? The film never clarifies. It’s not crucial to the main plot, but more context would have felt like a plus point for the story.
Overall It’s a decent movie—emotional, heartfelt in parts, but also somewhat forgettable. Worth a watch if you’re in the mood for a romantic melodrama with a touch of tragedy, but don’t expect it to linger long after the credits roll.

What a disappointment
I was so excited when I heard and saw that ORV will having a live action, only to be disappointed. If you want us ORV fans to respect the movie, the director should respect the original work first, that's how you earned respect but no, he completely changed the story, he obviously disrespect the original work.. Making Dokja a hero doesn't make sense, making Dokja a bully, changing swords into gun, CGI is bad.I've been reading the manhwa and just starting to read the webnovel so it's a waste when the director didn't follow the original and it's already in the title 'Omniscient READER' it is supposed to be read not to watch and making Dokja have a writing skills isn't a reader anymore.

This is is hot Garbage
The only thing that has been adapted are the names of the characters. What do you mean that the mc who experienced so much bullying to the point that he wanted to unalive himself leading him to discover the novel became the bully? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!! They can't even make a good cgi, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a sudden product endorsement because this shit looks like out of a low budget commercial. SERIOUSLY! THE ONE WHO THOUGHT OUT ALL OF THE CHANGES SHOULD REALLY RECONSIDER THEIR CHOICE OF CAREER, FCKING EMBARRASSING.Was this review helpful to you?
Underwhelming thriller mostly saved by Siwan's acting
Very interesting thriller with an interesting, albeit common prose. In our times, when access to someone else's information can be achieved easily, it's terrifying to imagine what would happen if one monitored my whole life through my phone. The first half was very interesting, I was very curious to learn about the stalker's identity and purpose and it was so scary to watch him monitoring Na-mi's steps. But after the first half, the movie became kinda boring to me. Although I still wanted to see how he would be caught and how Na-mi would solve her problem, the plot became predictable and lost its spark. Some of the characters' actions were so silly, it was clear that their purpose was to pace the way for the story's development but couldn't it been done more conveniently? The third act wasn't that dramatic and the ending was kinda anticlimactic.
There were many themes that could have been explored more but the movie didn't delve into them. I expected more commentary regarding the loss of human connections and the way people rely on their phones. It was brought up sometimes in a subtle way but it wasn't enough to highlight this message, which the movie intended to. Yes, it's clear how dangerous online activity can be but I wanted something more. Instead of telling and not showing, it was little telling and little showing.
Si-Wan's performance was the best, he was absolutely captivating as Oh Jun-yeong. His body language, the tone of his voice, his gaze, his demeanor. He knew how to embody his character and he made me feel sick yet unable to take my eyes off my screen when he appeared. It was a pity that the movie didn't do more with his character. I know that some villains do bad actions for the sake of it and that I shouldn't expect every villain to have a sob story but I still wanted to see more of him. He felt one-dimensional which is a pity because there were many layers to explore.
The rest of the characters were decent but not spectacular. Na-mi was good, I really liked Chun Woo-Hee's performance, but oh God, some of her decisions just pissed me off so bad. For example, how could she seriously trust a guy she met a few times over her best friend whom she has known for years!?
All in all, Unlocked was a gripping yet lackluster thriller. It hold my attention for the most part but it's not the best out there. I do not regret watching it and if you're new to korean cinema, it could be a decent option.
