Very cute BL with a contrasting but endearing & funny CL

PLOT: Dee, an orthopedic doctor, has had a crush on his senior colleague, Dr. Ter, for a long time. One night, he confesses his feelings, is rejected, and gets drunk. He's picked up, completely drunk, by Yoryak (a boxer he treated), and they end up having a one-night stand. Dee and Yoryak become FwB, then a fake couple (although Yoryak has a crush on a female student), to help Dee win a coveted scholarship for studying abroad, a scholarship also coveted by Dr. Ter. But little by little, Dee and Yoryak's feelings become confused.

+++ Great and Inn Sarin make an endearing, moving, and respectful couple with superb chemistry ლ(╹◡╹ლ) I'd love to see them together again soon.
+++ The other actors are talented and bring well-developed characters to life.
+++ The story is coherent and realistic (or almost - a romantic speech at a boxing championship? A "boyfriend" declaration at a professional awards ceremony?). The series advocates👏 👏 for same-sex marriage, trans rights, asexuality, etc. 👏👏
+++ The direction is effective (good boxing scenes), well-paced, and alternates between emotional moments and fun ones.
+++ The soundtracks aren't too intrusive, and I really like the song sung by Great (who has a very pretty voice).

### Minor sound issues in some scenes.
### A few clichés (love rivals).
### P'Ter's character is detestable (manipulative, a liar, etc.). Alas for the actor! The rival boxers' characters are rather caricatural.

=> A feel-good and easy-to-watch series, with an adorable CL Great-Inn Sarin.

why didn’t I do more?

My Broken Mariko is not just sad. It’s the kind of sadness that seeps into your bones. The kind that doesn’t explode loudly but instead lingers quietly, pressing against your chest long after the screen goes black.

Before anything, I genuinely think this film needs a trigger warning. It deals with physical abuse, emotional abuse, SA, self-harm, and the long-term weight of trauma. Some scenes are not just heavy, they are emotionally suffocating. It can be triggering to some people!

Plot**
The story follows Shiino and Mariko, two childhood friends who grew up side by side. Mariko’s life, from the very beginning, was shaped by abuse, neglect, and abandonment. While Shiino, the loud, impulsive, fiercely protective friend, always stood next to her, trying to shield her in whatever ways she could. As they grew older, the abuse that once felt shocking slowly became routine. The police calls became fewer. The door banging stopped. The urgency faded. Not because Shiino didn’t care, but because when something repeats long enough, it becomes part of the background noise of life. Mariko continues to suffer, even as an adult, falling into relationships that mirror the same violence she grew up with. And then one day, Shiino sees on the news that Mariko has died.

Spoilers**

As a child, Shiino was fearless. She would scream, call the police, and physically try to break into the house to rescue her friend, but as adults, life dulled that urgency. Maybe she believed Mariko would eventually leave. Maybe she believed things wouldn’t end so suddenly, and now there is no fixing it. When she realises her friend is dead, that moment doesn’t just start a journey; it unleashes a flood of guilt.
Watching Shiino carry Mariko’s ashes felt like watching someone carry the weight of every “what if.” Every “I should have tried harder.” Every “why didn’t I do more?”

On the other side, Mariko represents so many victims who stay in a familiar hell because the unknown feels even more frightening. As viewers, we want to shake her. We want to beg her to leave. But the movie forces us to confront the reality of how deeply abuse reshapes a person. When trauma is all you’ve ever known, it doesn’t feel abnormal; it feels inevitable.

Then the movie forces us to see the aftermath of Mariko's death through Shiino's eyes. Shiino’s heartbreaking and desperate attempt to give Mariko freedom in death, the freedom she never fully claimed in life. Refusing to let her rest in the house that symbolised her suffering, taking her ashes on a journey to a place she once wanted to see… it felt like a final act of love. A delayed rescue mission!

It's heartbreaking because we can understand Shiino's desperation; she could have done something more, but at the same time, she did a lot for her, but it was not enough.

This movie is soaked in guilt. It’s soaked in the kind of grief that whispers, “If only I had…” It’s about realising that sometimes, no matter how much help is available, it's not enough to save someone. And living with that knowledge.
But somehow, beneath all that heaviness, there is also tenderness. There is loyalty. There is a raw portrayal of friendship that is imperfect but real. Shiino isn’t a perfect saviour. She’s human. And that’s what makes it hurt more.
My Broken Mariko feels like a wound. It forces you to acknowledge how abuse can become invisible, how victims can feel trapped in cycles that outsiders don’t fully understand, and how the people who love them can carry guilt long after it’s over.

i inhaled the whole show.

Wow. Just wow. It seemed to be so short at first, but in my opinion it was the perfect length, although the ending was rather left to edge? Anyways, it was morally a bit challenging and the plot was twisting as promised.
I also think that the topic the show was built around is very important for people to discuss.
I loved the show so much, I'd watch it all over again for even 3 times right now.

So Satisfying (February 26, 2026)

I enjoyed watching Song Wei Long through a new lens. His comedic timing and playfulness were refreshing. He made his character one I would want to see again. His co-star, Liu Hao Cun, helped to make Just For Meeting You a bona fide success.

I am satisfied with the ending. It does not need more time to complete their story. They found each other again years after separating, discovering they hadn't lost the love they had for one another. She loved him without him knowing it. She found out that he's always loved her and reached out to reunite. Just when it seemed like too much talk about forgetting the past would throw them a curveball, she boldly confessed to him. Looking back on the way they met, he didn't even notice that the girl he helped in the store was the one who was actually captivated by him from the beginning and sought him out in class. She boldly stepped forward to push him to become the best part of himself, giving him more boldness to achieve his goal.
Both actors deserve great credit for making JFMY a delight to watch.

I am glad they are bringing more of SWL's works to the forefront. The contrast between his earlier works and present ones varies in range, but are all incredibly satisfying to watch. I am looking forward to his continued growth in the future.

Worth the time.

I found this to be a "standard" Cdrama storyline. However it sets an example for a well crafted production which is really nice to come across. This allows the actors to carry the storyline and they do it skillfully. The only nitpicky bit is the plot device of Fu Qing Zhou's withheld communication as to true intentions toward Su Tang. But it does fit here.

This is my first time seeing Ren Yun Jie (Fu Qing Zhou) & Tan Yan Yan (Su Tang) and, initially, I wasn't sure I'd be all that impressed. Both proved me wrong. The positive YouTube comments should have been a hint? The primary supports are what they should be without being too much.

YT Description: 劇熱門 - "Learning she was to marry his nephew, the usually calm man began to seduce and chase her." Su Tang's marriage to the nephew is to cover up a mistresses' pregnancy and to give her the protection of being a wealthy wife. She agrees to go abroad and return with the child as theirs.

Note: This is Version 2 of 2 as of 2/27/2026 ~ Version 1: "Qing Zhou Du Tang" with Wang Bing Xiang & Lei Fu Man.

old but gold

this is good, i loved watching the cases, the chemistry of Shinichi and Ran was good, the acting too.
im impressed, because its old i thought it might not be as good but i see its still good and well made , i will be checking the other related movies/drama special related to this.
the story might be a bit different but its similar about a smart young detective figuring out who the culprit is and a bit of love interest shown btw him and Ran

A Promising Start That Lost Its Focus

This is another drama that I felt could have been better. It had such an impactful beginning—I loved the choreography, the palace intrigue, and how effectively the villains were established. There was also a rich backstory supporting the present narrative, which made the early episodes especially compelling.

However, it eventually fell flat for me. The subplots weren’t developed enough, and the focus shifted heavily toward the relationship between the leads. I would have preferred the romance to be more integrated into the main storyline rather than taking it over. The script also kept introducing new ways for the protagonist to survive life-threatening situations, which made the final stretch feel unnecessarily drawn out.

Ultimately, whether you enjoy this drama may depend on how much balance you prefer in a narrative.

Why lie to us? ?

Let me start with “A Beautiful Lie.”

I watched it from episodes 1 to 20+, where the ML and FL were starting to develop their love story, and it was perfect. I mean, it really made me fangirl.

But then, is this series some kind of lie to us?

When the ML started to get better, I was so happy, like, YES, finally! Their love story is about to happen next, just like the second leads.

At first, I thought the “beautiful lie” referred to the FL pretending to be Xiaojiao/Cato to help the ML recover faster—and it worked. But why? Why did the lie turn out differently?

The ending was completely unexpected. We’re not okay with the ML dying, and the FL being left to suffer alone afterward. She’s still lying to herself, holding on to the idea of a beautiful love story. It feels so unfair.

Seriously, what happened to the plot? Were there any issues with the series during filming that led to this kind of ending?

fuck you second lead

spotlight away from the male and female leads. Instead of supporting the main story, it felt like the focus kept shifting unnecessarily, which made the narrative less balanced. At times, it seemed like the second lead was being pushed so hard that the actual main leads lost impact. If the intention was to give that character so much importance, it might have been better to make them the main lead from the start. This choice in direction hurt my overall enjoyment of the show

It was mindblowing

Coroner's Diary is a suitable drama genre for people who have the kind of detective interest, who like to try to solve cases and find plot twists. This drama actually has so many plot twists especially between ep35-38...I think🤔 This drama was good for me. Especially at the beginning and the end. Honestly, I stucked around ep 25-28 and I don't know why. And this well deserves to get rates 8+/10. Just it has so many plot twists and mindblowing scenes. And I've cried a few times bcz there were nice characters who died under evil hands.

Script's a mess, but we still love JoongDunk

With all due respect, and retaining our love for JoongDunk; the show made little sense storywise. I haven't read the novel, probably half of what's wrong could be blamed on it.
The characters' choices made no sense. While their friends were literally dying, the remaining guys continued living their normal lives, going outside alone etc. as if someone's car was stolen or just a house burned down.
The killers never left anyone alive after choosing T or D, and everyone still believed they won't be murdered.
The ending was the biggest mess. Why are there only two policemen on the scene in the last ep? The big grown-ass man Kamin pointing a gun at Fai, but unable to knock out the small girl? Why is Jay outside and safe, but then suddenly kidnapped again to be burned?
Screenwriters should have gone with simpler solutions.
It's 8 stars from me solely for the humour, love and JoongDunk in the series. Heart killers was their better work, it made more sense. Cheers.

Even If This Love Disappears From the World Tonight (Korean: 오늘 밤, 세계에서 이 사랑이 사라진다 해도) is a 2025 South Korean romantic drama film directed by Kim Hye-young, based on the Japanese novel of the same name.

Kim Hye-young’s direction successfully captures the ephemeral essence of first love through a color palette that feels like an eternal sunset. Even though we are already familiar with the premise of anterograde amnesia, this 2025 version injects a visual freshness that makes that "lump in your throat" feel brand new.

What truly elevates this adaptation is the dedication of its lead pair. Choo Young-woo and Shin Shi-ah convey a vulnerability that is palpable; they ensure that the weight of repetition and forgetting never feels monotonous, but rather deeply human. Their chemistry is the film’s engine, making every "first meeting" feel just as genuine as the last.

Ultimately, this movie is a devastating reminder that memory is a privilege, not a guarantee. It is poetic, cruel, and visually impeccable. Get your tissues ready.

This love story feels extremely light—so light that it becomes boring rather than engaging. It follows a very common and predictable formula: a player who pretends to love, and another boy who knows the truth but still chooses to fall for him anyway. Instead of appearing innocent, this character comes across as frustrating and unrealistic. He is fully aware of the lies, yet he walks straight into heartbreak. That doesn’t feel like innocence—it feels like poor character writing.

One of the most distracting elements is Jimmy’s fashion style. His clothes look outdated and old-fashioned, which makes it hard to appreciate his charm. His appearance and personality could have been more appealing if the styling reflected a modern setting. The wardrobe choice weakens the character instead of strengthening him.

Another major issue is the emotional inconsistency. The story shows how heartbreak affects him, but then he enters a relationship with someone else—someone who genuinely loves him, like the doctor—only to hurt him as well. Using another person to heal from past pain is selfish, and it makes the main character difficult to sympathize with. Instead of growth, he repeats the same cycle of emotional damage.

The acting itself is acceptable, but the weak storyline doesn’t give the actors much opportunity to show depth. The emotional scenes lack intensity because the writing doesn’t build strong emotional stakes. Everything feels surface-level, and nothing leaves a lasting impact.

Overall The characters feel inconsistent, the romance feels forced, and the plot is too predictable. Instead of being a touching love story, it becomes frustrating to watch. It is not terrible, but it is definitely disappointing and forgettable.

an anti-fan of this bs

okay lemme start....... the only thing that kept me going throughout the drama is seeing how worse it can get. and whats wrong with the writer and director of this show?? what do they want us to see there is no smooth flow in the story they are hating each other and then kissing the next minute!!!??? they didnt clearly show how the story developed and the marrying anti fan tv show should be the main concept instead it was a small part in this drama despite the name and atleast they should stay in the same house or atleast show the bickering sides of both so it would look good and cute instead only aired the parts where she was maad......
the acting was AWFUL only one who did great acting was sml/JJ but the directors didnt know how to portray his character possessive love? psycho? or a good guy gone bad character?? naaa they mix fruit juiced everything and wasted the talent and also kim min gue was great but idk what did his charac served to this drama, it couldve been better if they gave some importance to him
it couldve been a great drama if the screenplay was good but they missed it all up

the only okay couple in this drama is the writer and pd couple every couple other than them are cringe and their story didnt make sense, its all beacuse of the director of this drama they selected great cast but its a waste if you dont use em properly
