Mmmmm....
Allora, meh.
The world we want to see. Woman being united and standing together.
Beautiful.Ml and FL did their roles excellently.
The fl is strong, she's no damsel in distress. She did not whale and cry when things got harder. When life gave her lemons she made lemonade. She fought and stood for her family. What a girl. There's no misunderstandings between the fl and ml. They are a mature couple. Well done to the whole team. The story is very touching, I cried a lot. This is an ultimate comfort drama. The music is good too.
They could have made it 36 episodes instead of 40 episodes. The characters added were unnecessary towards the end. Which annoyed me. Anyways the ending was good.

Visuals and Vibe Deliver
This series was honestly pretty fun to watch. It kicked off really strong — the first few episodes had me hooked with the vibe, the colors, and just the overall uniqueness of the presentation. But I have to say, the last two episodes felt a bit rushed and didn’t quite match the energy of the earlier ones. It’s like they were trying to wrap things up quickly, and it lost some of the rhythm that made the beginning so good. That said, I appreciate that the show was clearly aiming to give fans something different. The aesthetic alone — the way they played with visuals and atmosphere — really set it apart from the usual BL series we’ve been seeing lately. And the cast? They carried it. Gun was, as always, consistently brilliant, and Dew really stood out too. The directing deserves credit as well; it kept things simple plot‑wise but leaned into character development, which worked for the most part, even if a few areas felt a little bland or underdeveloped. Overall, I’d call this series a refreshing change of pace. It might not have been perfect, but it was definitely enjoyable and worth the watch, a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Was this review helpful to you?

Strong minds, soft hearts?
I liked it, it wasn’t groundbreaking, but it felt good while I was immersed in the story. I was definitely emotionally engaged, which basically means a solid 8/10 for me. What stood out most is that the leads are competent people who admit uncertainty without losing dignity. Confidence isn’t plot armour, it’s something they perform because they have to.Loved how the romance worked. They connected because they think alike and stay steady under pressure. They are compatible, it’s not just attraction. This romance is between adults choosing each other not some destiny shit that I’m already tired of. He takes love seriously, like a lifelong commitment. For him, love is home. All he ever wanted was to be loved. She loves deeply too, but she isn’t so emotionally dependent like him. For her, love is meaningful, but not essential. That difference creates one of the most interesting dynamics in the drama.
The tea world setting is beautiful, the plantations, the aesthetics, the costumes, the cultural atmosphere. Though some power elements (that jade stamp…) felt exaggerated lol.
Now the last Duke arc, at first it felt unnecessary, but the final arc exists to test him in his own world of power and status, not hers (he spends most of the show in her world). The emotional payoff is stronger in the end because of this arc.
It’s a female-centred world, which I liked.
Overall I cared about the characters, understood their choices, and felt rewarded by where they ended up.

Too realistic for its own good
The characterization is where Burnout Syndrome shines, because the series depicts various degrees of assholery masterfully. Ko, the entitled man-child AI capitalist whose tragic backstory is just a flimsy excuse to ruin countless lives with his business ventures, makes me want to punch my fist through a wall. Jira, though he is more relatable because of the economic pressure that shapes his actions, is absolutely infuriating in his lack of integrity and his artistic tunnel vision. What do you mean, the only time you're inspired by Pheem is after he told you how much you hurt him? Speaking of whom, Pheem is truly something too, and I'm glad he doesn't have more of a backbone because you know that, in an alternate reality, this man would resort to domestic violence. And don't even get me started on Mawin and Ing and their enabler tendencies.Overall, the show is psychologically fascinating with genuinely flawed characters whose actions are frustrating precisely because they make so much sense in the context of the characters' selfishness and their need for validation from the wrong people. The show prioritizes realism (or fatalism?) to its own detriment, though. Not even everyone's acting skills and their great chemistry (Mawin and Pheem are a stellar duo) make up for the total lack of escapist qualities. As a result, I had to force myself through the last episodes. The AI conversation also doesn't go where I want it to, but it admittedly has more to offer than I expected, so I won't fault Burnout Syndrome too much for that.

Abstract Art
Hilarious how this could have been the artistic masterpieces they tried to paint it as, but ultimately flopped and failed. Think Jira's actual artwork vs Koh's AI generated nonsense. Tried so hard to be original and ended up a mish-mash of something no one wants.Just from the outset, Burnout Syndrome promises moody men, creative expression and a savage race of people trying to stand by themselves and their ideals. Ten episodes in, and we only get a glimpse of any of that. Because when your plot starts hingeing on a love triangle and the visuals of your actors, you know it's trouble.
Much like our main character Jira, the audience is appaled and angry with the way these people behave, but just like him, we are lulled into some false sense of fantastical romance halfway through with the love triangle and the bad boy going good, making us forget that this is supposed to be something deep. Spoiler - it wasn't.
Coming to the characters, they're not relatable. At least not completely. You see sides you think you relate to, but you don't. Especially with Koh and Jira - the two people actually running the show are so badly written, they are all over the place and unpredictability is exciting but not like this. I never understood a single thing they did or said, and if you're not connecting with the two leads, whose story are you watching?
Ing? Mawin? Two great characters by the way who pulled more than their weight by being not only stable and well written characters, but also being played to perfection by Emi and AJ.
No, I suggest watching this story for Pheem, from his POV. He's the best character in this mess. The person who starts off as a mirage of perfection grows into someone closer to what we envision as perfection. Trust me, watching this for him makes the ride a bit better. Plus, Dew was an actual demon in this, his acting, which I'm usually not a fan of, grew into this monstrous beauty. Off and Gun were brilliant as usual, but Dew won me over in this round.
Jira's styling aside, everything about this just tried so hard to reach the stars, only to fly two feet off the floor. A lot of things cost them the masterpiece they so desperately searched for, but ultimately, trying to do every single thing made sure not one of them really worked.

Shine On Me Review: A Beautiful Journey of Love, Growth, and Dreams
Shine On Me is a beautifully crafted Chinese drama that delivers both emotional depth and strong storytelling. The series stands out for its well-developed characters, realistic relationships, and meaningful life lessons. Each episode keeps you engaged, balancing romance, personal growth, and heartfelt moments. The lead actors have excellent chemistry, making their relationship feel natural and sincere. Their performances add authenticity to every scene, especially during emotional and challenging moments. The supporting cast also contributes greatly, creating a rich and dynamic storyline.
What makes Shine On Me truly special is its inspiring message about perseverance, self-love, and chasing one’s dreams. The pacing is smooth, and the cinematography enhances the overall viewing experience with its warm and aesthetic visuals.
Although a few scenes may feel slightly predictable, they do not take away from the drama’s overall impact. The strong script, relatable themes, and emotional connection more than make up for it.
Overall, Shine On Me is a highly recommended drama for fans of romance and slice-of-life stories. It leaves a lasting impression and is definitely worth watching. 💖

Three toxic characters in a captivating story
BURNOUT SYNDROME – REVIEWToday with the 10th episode „Burnout Syndrome“ finally ended. It surely is a more controversial series, and the early episodes I assume decided for many to stay or to go. Let me be clear about two things. First, all three main characters are broken and downright unlikeable characters at least for me. I would want none of them in my circle of friends or closer than a continent away from. Second, I cannot say I liked the series in a basic way.
However, writing as a critic, I had to take another perspective. First, I didn't dislike watching the series, despite the drama and the toxic main characters, because it was the premise of the series from the get-go and I can measure a series only from what it set out to accomplish: showing us human flaws and deeply flawed characters. People being burned out. With Jira the painter who played both men to fulfill his whims, Pheem the Casanova suddenly falling into some possessive love and the cold hearted capitalist Koh who regards people as material, none of them was anything but red flag characters. But in this, the series and the acting excelled to the best skill of cinematography which I have yet seen. Each has biographical reasons to be what they are, each made bad decisions to become the burned out person they are, and each manipulate and ruin each other during the entire series. The underlying topic, even broken people desire true love, was one of the saving graces. Through all the cracks and toxic traits, you see vulnerable human beings struggling to break out of the habit of their flawed personalities, stubbornly clinging to their character traits which add to their own misery. And that was extremely well depicted in directing, acting, cinematography, sets and music.
It was one of the few series where I was and still am uncertain whether I like the ending. In my age I find it hard to believe that human beings truly fundamentally change, and sometimes it is better to have a a quick end with terror than terror without end. The ending, while apparently giving hope of healing, remained ambivalent to me, and I assume that is the best such a setup can deliver. There is no guarantee of magic happiness. Only the “for now”, and as Koh admits, he doesn't know if it will work out. That is a daring honest ending, for what else could the reply be.
As someone who was, despite several times trying, unable to watch “Heart Killers” and “Only Friends” because it was just way too heartbreaking and depressing, I went along with “Burnout Syndrome” well. Partially I admit because I am not so emotionally close to OffGun, in contrast to FirstKhaotung, so I guess how easy you are able to take it somewhat depends on how you feel about Off and Gun. For me it was their first series I watched, so I had not such a close emotional bond or expectations, which certainly helped me to bear some inner distance. Also the drama was mostly not with super intense eruptions which might have unsettled me (in contrast to Heart Killers and Only Friends, which was wrecking me so I had to stop), but here acting the inner pain and trauma was more subdued, as befitting of characters who are “burned out” and deprived of emotion by the traumas they had. Artistically it was a masterpiece, and I have to add, it sadly reminded of me gay friends I had, who were the entire time I knew them constantly attracted to people profoundly unhealthy to them, which I assume goes for people of all sexual orientations. So how to rate it? I wonder. Measuring by what it wanted to be, it succeeded with flying colours. I doubt it is for everyone, especially if you hold Off and Gun in your fandom heart, it may be hard to watch. It IS a dark drama, that is to be known. Still as a piece of art, despite my personal reservations to the characters, I find nothing in itself to criticize, and with a few implausibilities especially in the end, subtracting one point, I give it a

An eye out of focus
I like legal dramas (vs. crime) so gave this a try and the first few episodes case was compelling--well laid out "who is really at fault" storyline but then the series dropped into silly tropes given the maturity of the leads, and cases that apparently were made to follow a theme of "women can prevail in a macho world " which I absolutely don't object to but it quickly became too preachy and the cases too predictable. I will likely drop this. For legal dramas, I've found the Korean ones better--just finished Beyond The Bar--and am actually considering re-watching it!

This God Really Said “Let the World Burn”
Born into the immortal realm, Shen Li is a formidable general who refuses to be bartered away in a political marriage. Her escape goes wrong, leaving her injured and trapped in her phoenix form, tumbling straight into the human world. There, she is unexpectedly purchased at a market by Xing Yun, a sickly yet sharp minded man whose quiet life is anything but ordinary. What begins as a strange cohabitation slowly ties their fates together. As love blooms across realms, ancient evil stirs, betrayal cuts deep, and Natural Law itself is challenged. With the balance of the Three Realms at stake, Shen Li and Xing Yun must decide whether love is their greatest strength or the one taboo that could destroy everything. The drama wastes no time pulling you in. It opens with Shen Li on the run from a forced marriage, and right away you understand who she is. Powerful, independent, adaptable, and carrying the weight of responsibility like second nature. Her inner monologue as a phoenix is both revealing and hilarious. Watching a mighty general struggle with the daily inconveniences of being a bird is comedy gold. Enter Xing Yun, gentle, strategic, witty, and looking like a stiff breeze might knock him over. The fiery phoenix and calm human pairing is a classic combo, and here it works like magic. That early mortal realm arc had me fully seated, snacks forgotten.
As the story moves forward and Shen Li regains her body while Xing Yun completes his mortal tribulation and returns as Xing Zhi, the last surviving ancient God, the romance levels up. One thing I genuinely love about this drama is how mature it feels compared to many Xianxia stories. These are not impulsive teenagers playing at destiny. Shen Li is a demon general, Xing Zhi is a God burdened with maintaining balance across the Three Realms. Duty is not a suggestion, it is the rulebook. Xing Zhi is forbidden from worldly attachments, and Shen Li understands this better than anyone. Instead of manufactured misunderstandings, their main conflict comes from responsibility, restraint, and knowing exactly what loving each other could cost.
Their push and pull is delicious. Shen Li keeps trying to shove Xing Zhi out of her life for his own good, and he keeps calmly, persistently finding his way back in. She radiates independent woman energy, yet he somehow coaxes out her softer side without ever undermining her strength. The vibe is very much “I know you can do it, but let me do it for you.” Xing Zhi’s deadpan humor deserves its own fan club. He regularly leaves Shen Li flustered or speechless, and I found myself laughing out loud more than once. The humor fits perfectly, dry, understated, and never forced.
Li Geng Xin brings a quiet charisma to Xing Zhi that really elevates the character. His godly, mature visuals help, yes, but it is his control and expressions that sell the role. His biggest strength as a character is his emotional impulsiveness when it comes to Shen Li. Unlike other godly protagonists who talk big but hesitate, this man is absolutely willing to let the world burn if it means saving her. Heaven’s wrath be damned. Shen Li, on the other hand, is often the cautious one, which makes it even more impactful when she finally goes “screw it” and boombayah with him, even when she knows better. Their existential crisis flavored romance is tension inducing in the best way, never exhausting.
Zhao Li Ying is perfection as Shen Li. Her glittery round eyes and petite frame do nothing to diminish her presence as a demoness and general. This was my first time watching her and Li Geng Xin together, and their chemistry is seriously tight. It feels natural, layered, and earned, easily one of the drama’s biggest strengths. The ensemble cast also deserves praise. Each supporting character has a purpose, whether for comedy, emotional support, or romantic complications, and none of them feel out of place or annoying. They add flavor without overpowering the main dish.
Visually, this drama is a feast. The sets are beautiful, the special effects are dreamy, and Xing Yun’s mortal realm house is honestly iconic. The CGI can lean a bit cartoonish at times, but it still works within the fairytale tone. Costumes and makeup are heavenly, pun fully intended. The ending was as sweet as dessert too, giving us a full episode of much needed closure.
Overall, I went into this drama out of boredom and came out completely in love. The Legend of Shen Li has officially earned its spot as my favorite mature Xianxia drama to date. If you like seasoned characters, restrained but powerful romance, and a love story that challenges fate without screaming about it, this one is absolutely worth your time.

More about SOTUS and engineering life than romance
I was asked to watch this drama by a lot of BL fans. They were like this is the OG BL and a lot of the existing BL troupes come from this etc. and that I'd regret not watching it. So i decided to give it a go. I personally think it's an average drama which is kinda confusing at times probably cz it's old and depicts people's mindset from back in those days. Like Arthit is clearly ragging but then people are praising him in the name of team building. I was expecting more of an enemies to lovers troupe where Arthit is the bully and khongphob stands against him but thats not the case KP is just praising him. They leaned more towards SOTUS being good probably cz back then it was not banned.I'm in the ep 8 rn I've already dropped it twice i am gonna force myself to finish it but i most probably won't watch the sequel. I am a big fan of Krist from mint to be and ex morning but after watching those this one doesn't match that level for me.
The 1st 6 or 7 episodes were only about SOTUS and it's activities. Barely any progress in any couple's story. Frankly i dont get when and why any of them fell for each other. I didn't understand any of the characters either. Not arthit nor KP, like when did Arthit fall for him and I'm pretty sure KP hated Arthit but then suddenly he's in love with him🙃. Ahhhh idk i might probably be dumb but i don't understand the drama. I continue to watch cz i wanna know whats soo amazing about this drama but i see nothing so far.
The unique thing about this show is that it feels very natural and realistic, you can see a lot of BL and GL actors who are popular rn in 1 frame, there's a mix of gay, straight and lesbian people (usually u rarely see straight couples in BLs), it's different but not for me. I prefer some drama and some romance. I dont mind if there are no kiss or NC scenes at all but I'd like to see the process of 2 people falling for each other.

Not on my page
Lovers of this drama will utterly disagree with me but sharing my opinion.I got bored. The tropes we expect were all there, but gosh, the creativity behind them was that the game says" it has to happen or else"--it felt like lazy writing and even the FL exclaims (often) how inane the game is! Also the second leads storyline adds no value to the primary story and is unneeded.
Visually, ML never looks bad (in all his dramas, he's so darn photogenic), and in this drama, FL is styled and madeup and shot more beautifully than her prior dramas. I was puzzled by ML wardrobe--often a turtleneck under a shirt with tie--perhaps my styling awareness is outdated.
At any rate, this was another dud for me re: ML (A Beautiful Lie was also disappointing) , so his recent Love Between Lines was far more watchable. And FL has been in lots better romances prior. I am waiting until the last episode is available to binge-fast scroll to see the end but don't anticipate upping my ratings.

This was the best Thai BL of 2025?
Okay, honestly? This was the best Thai BL of 2025😍❤️I'm not really a fan of suspense thrillers, but I absolutely loved it. It was a little scary for me so I tried not to watch it at night so there were days when I couldn't watch it at all, but every night I was curious what was going to happen next.
Believe me I had multiple possible stories in my mind, but there were twists that I didn't even think about, and I loved that thing about it.
I was so into finding the culprit that for a moment I forgot it was about romance as well, there were times when I saw romantic scenes and went like “this is why aren't finding the killer because you guys are busy flirting, meanwhile the killer will reveal himself on his own, right?🙄" No offense, I love PoohPavel, but the story was just that good🤌❤️
The cutest moment was when Pooh softly grabbed Pavel’s shirt with 2 fingers, I swear I screamed into my pillow so much 😍❤️ I love watching Pooh being so small and fragile in front of Pavel😂❤️
Although I thought the end could've been better. Honestly the last episode did not feel rashed but it felt somewhat senseless. But overall I'll give it 9 out of 10, deducting 1 for the senseless ending and for other minor details that were missed apart from this I would definitely recommend it, if you love horror or thriller suspense then this one's for you❤️
