Cliche but never cringe

It's such a cliche story but the acting and chemistry between the actors are so entertaining. Hioki acts so adorably and Watarai is convincingly smitten over him. Watarai does a lot of cliche stuff, but instead of cringing, his actions are swoon worthy. I am screaming and kicking my feet from giddyness while watching this series.

The extra ep 1 is so hot.

HOTTEST CDRAMA AT THE END OF THIS YEAR

Everything in this drama is truly beautiful, especially in the aspect of color gradation which is very sharp but still beautiful and aesthetic. This makes every scene and its meaning a beautiful message and easy to understand by the audience. Supported by the acting of the players and extraordinary chemistry so that the storyline feels very alive and memorable. Esther Yu's acting as Jiang Mu is a challenge for Esther in the acting world but Esther is able to get through it very well In my opinion, Jiang Mu's character is not much different from Esther Yu's character in real life, namely a cheerful, unyielding and fashionable young girl. Jiang Mu's character also teaches about determination, the process of healing and making peace with all the wounds in the past by not having to leave it all but by holding it with an open heart and daring to start again from the beginning for a better and happier life. The OST is also very in tune with every emotion displayed, making this drama very worth watching at the end of this year because it has a deep and burning intensity.

This is boring and not in a good way

This was lowkey boring. It was cute, but unfathomably fucking boring, oh my lord. I would give it a 7.5 (7.65) out of 10. I like cute, boring shows, but this show had zero purpose. I can't lie to you, and I had to do something and watch this because it was so boring. I am going to say what I liked, what I didn't, and then an overview of what I was thinking while watching this show.

I thought the show started off very cute, and the premise was great. Same with the dynamic, it was fun, and it was cute, and I think the show did that pretty well. I enjoyed the characters; I thought they were pretty well written, and I enjoyed it! I liked how both characters found comfort in each other, because for the black haired guy, whose name I couldn't be bothered to remember, the blonde guy gives him a family he's never had, and for the blonde guy, the black haired guy kind of gives him this purpose outside of just being his brother's caretaker. Does that make sense? I enjoyed how the show did that. I liked the tropes that they brought to the table. I thought those were pretty fun. And that's really it.

This was unfamthomly boring HOLY FUCK. Shows can have nothing happening and still be cute, but this was so boring. Nothing happened this entire show; we didn't do anything, I swear to god. Holy fuck. And the more the show went on, the worse it got, oh my fucking god. This was hard to fucking get through, I can't even lie. Well, I do think the lore was pretty interesting, but it was also so irrelevant, and I didn't care at all. I think the show should have done something along those lines to make it more interesting because I was falling all the way asleep, I can't even lie to you. Every scene felt more and more irrelevant, and I think the plot is bad, because I feel like there really isn't any. Like, there are characters, and they feel things, but you have to piece together the rest, like what the fuck? THEY OVERPLAYED THE FUCK OUT OF THOSE FLASHBACKS I SWEAR TO GOD, SHUT THE FUCK UP I DON'T CARE, CAN WE PLEASE SEE THE ACTUAL SHOW NOW. Also, these two have zero chemistry. Nothing. There is nothing there, and it is like watching two brick walls in different cities, trying to fuck. And you don't even need a lot of sex scenes to have good chemistry or to have a good plot, but they had fucking nothing. I swear. I truly understand the hype for this show, and it is meant to be slow burn, but they dragged the fuck out of this show and made it so fucking boring. The pacing of this show is terrible, and I think that is what made it boring. And also, they have no romance building. Like he kisses him, which feels completely out of the blue, AND THEN HE JUST IGNORES HIM, LIKE WHAT? Just nuked whatever romance building we had because that was just not it. I wrote this in my final episode review, and it sums up the show nicely, " It has a good budget and has like a potential for an interesting plot, but these guys have zero chemistry and we don’t know how to write plot and space it out so it can work with this and also still be slow burn, wasted fucking potential I fear. Yeah, I love the trope of like he has to take care of his brother. I love that I love that to death, but they did this genuinely terribly."

Overview time! "The guy with black hair wants to be loved, and Blondie wants someone to appreciate his work and stuff like that. Great dynamic, really. This could be a really good show." It didn't live up to this, I fear. "I think he finds this kind of comfort in the blond-haired guy bc it gives him the family he has never had, which is really cute." "This show is so boring, I can’t lie. Also very forgettable." "I really wanna gaf about the lore, but I don’t. I don’t." "I can't lie, I dont even know what just happened. Like, he got sick, and then we saw the mom six times in 23 minutes, dude, what in the world are we even doing anymore?" "He’s lowkey really good looking without his glasses." "This is a very slow-burn show, and I get the hype, but they’re dragging this out." "The guy with the glasses is unc sexy. So he stopped talking to him because he touched his face? What the fuck? What do they both have such detrimental, sad lives? I don’t understand why they’re not talking anymore. I don’t think I’m locked enough for this. And they have literally no chemistry, and this is so awkward. Y’all literally only held hands with the fuck is this guy's problem, and you kissed him on the cheek too. What are we doing right now? Bro what. I think the show could be really good, but the pacing is genuinely awful. Like beyond slow, burn awful." "Wait, so we had a time skip. When did that happen? I’m so confused. They kissed!? What the fuck just happened?" Reading other people's episode reviews, I am the biggest fucking hater ever. "This feels oddly nostalgic now, and I don’t know why." "This was so boring, and like I can’t even get behind it because it was so boring."

I'd say no, don't watch it because I thought it was boring, but if you want to, just do it, it's not that long anyway. Okay bye!

Decepcionante

Good idea - bad realisation

The good:

-I liked the initial idea of this drama - as I think it was all meant like a metaphor for the current state of affairs - in South Korea, but not only, pretty much everywhere around the globe. So with loads of methaphors this drama tries to show in actionpacked pictures and storyline that simply EVERYthing is always about money. And that it seems you only have two choices: either trying to hold up in the rat race and become an ever more selfish, unscrupulous and at times even cruel ahoe to keep up the impossible pace, or cling on to being good and altruistic, but coming with it is a constant lack of money.
I liked this metaphor as it simply describes the dilemma of our current ever more fast-paced times. The whole sci-fi- story here is just wrapped around this message and the ambivalent thought coming with it. That's current affairs and it's a fresh idea.

-acting was partly good (Lee Jun-ho, Lee Chae-min (I didn't like his performance in 'Bon Appetit...', I did like his acting here though), Kim Hye-joon (didn't know her before, liked her acting here), and also bad (Kang Han-na - nope, I know her from other roles where I thought she was rather good, but not this time, everything was over the top and flat for her 'evil' character here, including her bad makeup, hairdo and outfits she couldn't even walk in properly most of the time)

The bad:

- the pacing of the storyline and storytelling was all over the place after episode 2. It was just way too much action, explosions, shootings and no coherrent story to really follow. Also the characters suffered from this, as most of them remained pale and flat, while some had good potential from the first two episodes intro.

-I didn't like the end of this. So at least for me. following the above mentioned metaphor idea, and given that Kang Sang-ung's character even tells the villain, money isn't everything, being special isn't that great, being average (and happy) is - he and his girlfriend simply do get the impossible, unreachable very huge luxurious apartement in the end and give off the message that is so toxic in South Korea and especially Seoul these days - you are only a success and you can only be happy (and only then think about having kids) if you own (as in being able to actually buy) a house or apartment. That's directly contradictory to what he tells the villain before. As the whole show is fantastic anyways I would have prefered an ending with a message matching his own message from before - these two understanding that they have to get out of this crazy hamster wheel and do something completely different - I don't know, move to the countryside and open a bakery? But this way it just feeds the toxic current real narrative - you are nothing without your own house, you are everything with it - and there is nothing in between.

Result:

-watchable once, nice initial idea, but the writers and director didn't follow through with it and lost pace, focus and message

I liked this series in the beginning and the leads were good together even though they could be quite annoying. The serial killer was also very interesting and his modus operandi was unique. However, the series, played with the farcical way to much for a show about a serial killer and made the police the typical bumbling idiots. Like each episode the police seemed to get dumber and dumber especially towards the ending. They also, dragged this show out for 16 episodes, 4 of which were useless and should have been on the chopping room floor.

The best thing about the series is that Nam Koong Min is just a delight to watch as the creepy Barcode Killer.

One and Only Romance of 2025 !!!

This drama didn't look like it would be this great.
The acting is the creme dela creme. Ji Bozai is our superhero, behaving like the perfect man. Our beloved Ming Yi is so cunning and yet so lovable. Even the bad guys are amazing, and you can almost believe they're actually evil. I love the plot; no episode is boring; something happens in every episode, leaving you wanting more.
Plus, the music is like a dream - my favorite soundrtrack so far. All the cinematography is so beautifully done, the costumes, the effects. Absolutely amaizng. The story is captivating, giving us threads to cry over, get angry at, feel sympathy for, and find romance. You root for the main characters the entire time, but the support characters are also fantastic.

I recommend it to any romance and action fan. The fight scenes are beautifully done. The love scenes too, it's a shame there's no sequel. Nothing is as great as this drama these days.

Fashion parade for ZLS;)

Yes, it was a display of over 240 different looks for her character Xu Yan, making it a fashion spectacle with many designer items, including over 60 bags, showcasing her character's journey from humble beginnings to luxury or vice versa;)

First half was very interesting- I couldn’t really tell if she did marry him for money, but yes she truly loved him. The story did not emphasise on how they fell in love, it was rather quick and focused more on the after marriage part and the deception she had to struggle to conceal.

Second half would be where her secret was revealed, and she divorced and started all over again from the bottom and worked her way to build her business with her sister and friends. This part was a tad boring for me, just too typical on trying to portray being hard working, and women empowerment. Tbh I can’t even remember the ending now cos I’m writing this review a few weeks later lol. That’s how much this drama did not leave a fantastic imprint in my memory.

Awarded best drama of the year?? No, definitely not. I think it was just the hype and support for ZLS that made it necessary for it to be chosen (I’m guessing). Those that love this drama will love and defend it. For me, it was just alright ;)

This movie is a lot to process

Before I get into anything else, I have to talk about the cinematography of this movie! The cinematography in this movie is what stood out the best to me. It was incredible! So many of the shots were really creative and I always love to see that! I was blown away by it.

Onto the plot and acting.
The acting was great. I loved seeing Park Hee-Soo because I didn't know he was even in this to be honest, so I was really happy to see him! I loved his character as well as An-Na's. I think they were both complex characters which was really nice.

The plot is...a lot to take in. It starts off as your typical survival disaster thriller, which I love, and that was really great. I liked that there were only a few minutes of calm before the disaster hit. No wasted time that way since it dove right in. Then comes the confusing parts of this movie. It drifts away from being a disaster flood film and is suddenly about how the population is close to gone and needs to be saved using technology.
I understand that all the looping were different outcomes of her trying and retrying the disaster to get a different answer. I also understand that she as well as Ja-In are already dead before the movie even started. I understand what's going on in this movie, but I'd be lying if I said I think it was executed perfectly. It wasn't badly executed but the way they did was also just very confusing as it was happening. After I finished it and sat with it for a few minutes, it was clearer but still not great.

Looking at other reviews, I see a lot of people are in the same boat of just being really confused with the movie overall. Whether it's because of all the loops and crazy plotline, or simply because they thought it was going to be a disaster movie and then it turned into something else seemingly out of nowhere. I appreciate that this movie took a different turn that your typical disaster movie, but I just don't know how well it played out. Maybe on a rewatch it would be easier to figure out, and notice details you can't the first time around.

Even after writing this, I'm unsure about my rating.

Addicted to SeaKeen

I got introduced to SeaKeen through Head2Head and ended up binge-watching MuTeLuv (ep 1–4) and Only Boo.
Only Boo is so underrated—such a cute, innocent love story. It looks playful on the outside, but has really well-written, deep characters.

I love Kang and Moo so much. An introvert and an extrovert couple.
Moo is super clingy, honest, straightforward, and flirty—but never in a cringey way. The pacing felt just right, and Sea and Keen’s chemistry and acting came across as very natural.

100% romance

this is a truly romantic film that i a pleasure to watch. Bravo to the screenwriter, the main actors are perfectly cast , and even watching it several times doesn't get boring . It's also refreshing to see that someone can still write a normal script where real love is actually depicted . I recommend watching it

A fantastic series and its only been 2 eps

I have read the novel for this portion of S2 several times and thus far they are not disappointing and fitting the novel to a series very well. I am looking forward for the day where Phoon's dad gets what is coming to him, but we will get there in time, I'm sure. 💖

Animal Lover Here

The story line and acting are very well done for the most part. I, however, could not get past the shady character of the doctor. The actor played him as if he was a villain. His smug face and sneaky ways irritated me. It turned me off to him and I wanted him to get caught and thrown in jail. Another thing I wish the story would have addressed, was the cruelty towards animals at the hands of the local "crazy man." Instead of dealing with the animals they found, the police officers blew it off, as if companion animal sacrifice (any animal sacrifice for that matter) is legal in Thailand. It made the police officers seem like heartless buffoons. While it was not shown, it was stated and even showed a dog in a cage-like in the days of the old meat trade. Thailand has laws to protect companion animals and I wish the movie and TV industry would catch up with that. That significant part of episode 1/episode 2 should have been dealt with, even if it wasn't part of the plot. It made the police officers seem shallow, uncaring and dismissive and as if they were written as flat characters rather than officers who uphold the law as round characters. It was too one dimensional. The BL aspect was minimal.
