Made for Supernatural Fans
As a big fan of supernatural shows, it’s a no-brainer that this series was made for me! I loved how every actor gave justice to their role. Why it’s not a 10: I fell in love with the story of the current generation of gifted kids, so I really wanted more of them. I think their stories could have been fleshed out better. Instead, the series focused heavily on their parents’ backstories through flashbacks (especially with Guryongpo), which started to feel like a bit too much and taking more episodes than necessary.

Respect others religion and Don't spreading false info
The K-drama Genie, Make a Wish takes ideas from the Islamic story of Adam (ʿAlaihis-Salam) and Iblīs (Shayṭān), but sadly it mixes things up and shows them in a wrong way.In Islam, Allah created Adam from clay and told the angels to bow. All obeyed except Iblīs, who was a jinn, not an angel. He was made from fire, and out of pride he refused, saying, “I am better than him.” Because of this, he became Shayṭān and asked Allah for time and power to mislead humans until the Day of Judgment.
Angels and jinn are very different in Islam:
Angels are created from light and never disobey Allah.
Jinn are created from smokeless fire and have free will, like humans.
Don't watch this my personal rating 0
The drama wrongly mixes angels and jinn together, creating confusion and misleading viewers. If you want the real story, it’s clearly explained in the Qur’an (Surah 7, 15, 18, 38).

This series broke my K-drama slump!
The first few episodes got me hooked and made my heart flutter. I was also caught off guard by the whole time travelling plot since I had no idea about it going in.Why it’s not a 10: I felt conflicted that Sol’s struggle with workplace inaccessibility as a disabled person was introduced, only to vanish once the timeline reset and she landed the job. I also think there were a few too many timelines, which made things a bit confusing, but I guess that’s the staple for time-travel series.

The story is so captivating!
It's too early to write a full-on review for this drama, but it's one of those rare dramas that popped up out of nowhere, and the story is very intriguing!I'm a sucker for romantic dramas but this drama has a very interesting twist that has kept many like me going and wanting more! The leads are so good, the story has depth, and the production is decent. not a single filler episode so far!

Nirvana for paranormal romance lovers! And we have enemies to lovers at that!
Never been a fan of Uncontrollably Fond, but the chemistry between the two was undeniable. So, I was super excited when they announced another collaboration.Ep 1:
--------
"In all those years, your hair grew so long, but I guess your beard didn't!" - Ki Ga Yeong (Lol.)
Not them cosplaying superman and Lois as they fly through Dubai. They did a pretty good job. This was so damn enjoyable. The only thing that bothered me was his garb when he got run over by a bike, he looked less like a genie and more like a youtube prankster who pretend to be female ghosts to prank people.
Ep 2:
--------
"Can I try to kill you before you kill me? Let's see who's the better killer." -Ki Ga Yeong
In this round of Genie vs Psychopath, both have 1 points each. Oh, I forgot, that is one broke Genie stealing chump change from elderly women. Then we have our Psychopath betting five lives on one wish.
Ep 3:
--------
"I have no emotions. But as much as I can, I Like you..." -Ki Ga Yeong
Right after saying that she looks at him as if she is ready to push him off the roof again, but no that's her expectant look. She was just waiting for him to kiss her. And that was such a beautiful one to watch.
Ep 4:
--------
"Let's kiss." -Ki Ga Yeong
Girl's had a first taste and keeps wanting more. Well no one can blame her, it's Kim Woo Bin as Genie. It is just fun watching him skedaddle whenever she comes after him for a kiss. The best part was her hacking into the satellite to just to save the video of them kissing!
Ep 5:
--------
"I grant your wishes, but I can also be quite Awful." - Genie.
Yup, every lamp should come with this warning label. Because apart from Alladin, most of the Genie stories I have seen have been horrific.
Ep 6:
--------
"I have chosen a face that will be desirable for the next thousand years." - Genie.
You don't say sir. Based on the first 5 eps, it seemed like they would stick to a light-hearted tone and for once there not being any dire consequences of the wishes. But there we go, reminding us again of the butterfly effect that we have chosen to believe in.
Ep 7 to Ep 13
-------------------
> The serial killer is finding out that his genie is a genie that has no qualms about screwing him over.
> I do love the scenes where he has nothing to say whenever she gets jealous about his ex.
> I do feel that it could have been more emotionally charged but I still enjoyed every part of the drama.
> Not a fan of the story with the Khalid and his father.
> It started out quite well and ended well so a good one in my books.
> Finally a drama where they both get their happy ending and they are both good to each other.

Less is More
I originally started this drama when it came out and I was super underwhelmed so I put it on hold.. After coming back to it years later I’m still fairly underwhelmed by certain aspects but I really enjoyed Team and Win enough to finish.I could honestly rant about all the things I disliked but instead I’ll just say this that this drama would’ve been better if there were less side stories. I personally feel like Team and Win’s story had so much potential and it started off strong but the drama would’ve benefited more if it was shorter and the main/only focus was them. (The only semi interesting side couple was Wan and Tul and they barely got screen time.) I also didn’t enjoy how drawn out/forgotten the whole drowning arc was considering how important it was to Team’s character.
Ultimately this drama had a lot of weak points but the comedic moments and the chemistry between Team and Win helped. I also have a new love for Boun and Prem so it’s a win in my book!

The Unlikely Plot that Hooked Millions ♥
Tired of predictable romance? Then prepare for Revenged Love, the Chinese drama that turns the typical revenge plot completely on its head. Based on the novel Counter Attack by Chai Ji Dan (author of Addicted), this series is a wild, hilarious, and ultimately heartfelt journey about a straight guy who tries to seduce a rich man for payback... and ends up finding true love.~ The story kicks off when Wu Suo Wei is brutally dumped and humiliated by his gold-digging ex-girlfriend, who immediately upgrades to the wealthy, charismatic, and slightly unhinged heir, Chi Cheng. Fueled by righteous fury and a desperate need for revenge, Suo Wei hatches an audacious, ill-conceived plan: he'll seduce Chi Cheng, steal the boyfriend, and break both their hearts.
The problem? Suo Wei is straight and has no experience with men. The hilarious chaos that ensues as he gets a "gay-godmother" friend to coach him is priceless. But the real twist comes when Chi Cheng, who is actually interested in men, doesn't just fall for the clumsy scheme—he falls deeply, intensely, and possessively for Suo Wei, who is then utterly blindsided by his own developing feelings.
~ Why the Hype is Real :-
⋆ Intense, Unrivaled Chemistry: The dynamic between actors Zi Yu (Wu Suo Wei) and Tian Xu Ning (Chi Cheng) is electric. Chi Cheng is a fascinating "red flag" character—a dark, dominant force whose intense obsession transforms into a devoted love. Watching Suo Wei’s initial panic turn into genuine affection and bold pride is the heart of the show.
⋆ Chaos with Heart: Revenged Love perfectly balances its high-comedy premise with deeply human moments. You’ll laugh at the ridiculous revenge attempts and the constant "gay panic," but you'll stay for the sincere exploration of two complicated men learning to love and accept themselves and each other.
⋆ Bold and Uncensored: In a genre often riddled with censorship, this adaptation stands out for its bold approach. It doesn't shy away from the sexual tension, making the seduction and romance feel authentically intense
If you're looking for a drama that delivers high-voltage chemistry, a genuinely unique story, and an addictive blend of comedy and heat, Revenged Love is a must-watch. Be warned: this couple will live rent-free in your head ♥ .
And the OSTs are chef-kiss ♫♫♫
Thanks for reading (^3^) . ChiWei has a special place in my heart ♥

First Night With the Duke - Fairytale
First Night With the Duke was so much more interesting than I thought it would be. I will say that it was great. Cha Seon Chaek was fantastic and brought fun, intelligence, kindness and beauty to this drama. At times, she could also be a bit naive. When she, a support character in the story, brought her fun and modern cocktails to the drama, people became so interested in her. Prince Gyeong Seong was the king's sword; he killed anyone and everyone on the king's list. He killed without mercy. He started seeing the blood of others on his hands and did not like killing anymore. He met a drunk Cha Seon Chaek who told him that she knew all about him. He did not like killing. He took notice of her and thought she was different than other women and people. She drunkenly kissed him, out of the blue. The next morning she realized that she had slept with him all night. Her dress was lying on the floor next to the bed and the prince was in bed beside her. The prince started having feeling for her, but she was not so sure about him. Well let us skip ahead...danger and love found both Cha Seon Chaek and prince Gyeong Seong. Cha Seon Chaek was almost murdered several times, but was rescued by the prince each time. This was sort of a fairytale web drama. Cha Seon Chaek became a main character to the ire of other main characters. The rewatch value of this drama is highly recommended. Was this review helpful to you?
The story is relaxing
Honestly, the story is interesting. If I say I was disappointed, maybe just a little. But overall, the story is okay.
The beginning of the episodes is exciting, but a bit disappointing since the plot isn’t that thrilling—the flow feels more relaxed. Maybe it’s because the story has a rom-com theme, so it feels more laid-back, and since all the episodes were released at once, there’s no real suspense or curiosity building up.
But Ka Young’s character as a psychopath is really well done, very convincing. I even wondered whether playing this role had any effect on Suzy’s daily emotions and psychology. Meanwhile, Genie’s character, which is more comedic, balances out Ka Young’s emotions really well.
As for the OST, it’s good, but it feels like there aren’t enough tracks… hehe.
For this K-drama, if you’re looking for something light and relaxing to watch, I’d definitely recommend it.

Literally worth the time watch it y'all!!
Okay, so this is my first time writing a review for a drama, so it might seem messy, so ignore that, y'all, but I just couldn't help it after reading all these bad reviews about the drama. I feel like either most of them might have dropped the drama or just have different opinions, but alas! YALL I LOVE THIS DRAMA I'M NOT KIDDING BEST DRAMA OF 2025 FOR MESo, the first 1 was quite okayish but not that interesting, ngl compared to later episodes, and y'all, I promise that the later episodes are so worth it. Basically, the first three episodes were the build-up for the later episodes. I don't know, as I'm writing a review for the first time, whether I'm supposed to spoil it or not, but I have to say the actors killed it
Kim Woobin and Suzy Litreally ate the drama up and the side character omg little star and THE KID YALL IM NOT KIDDING I HATE HIM (watch it to know why lol) The angel and that owl girl or whatever she was were quite cute in the starting but later omggg (still trying not to reveal much as i want yall to watch the drama)
AND THOSE COMMENTS SAYING KIM WOOBING AND SUZY DON'T HAVE CHEMISTRY PLSSS I literally squealed when they were kissing, they are SO cute I can't honestly and suzy character omgg so slay like especially in the last episode omg like for 12 episode she was pretty badass but dang! The last episode made me her fan, I can't, and the cameo was pretty cute as well
Episodes 12 and 13 had me crying hard. I'm NOT even kidding, it was so bad !! This was my first drama of both Suzy and Woobin, and y'all, I came without knowing anything much about the actors and the drama itself, but now I'm going back as a fan, omgg, they are so cute, they ate with the acting genuinely
But like the story itself was pretty interesting and mostly unique and ne,w and oh my god I love it
Lastly, just wanna make my heart so warm after seeing the ending(IT'S A HAPPPY ENDING LETS GO NO KTRAUAM)
SO if you are looking for something unique, funny, and interesting and emotional as well, Pls do give it a try, it is so worth the time (lol binged watch it in a day says a lot about it)

At its core, the film is less about demons and princesses and more about the desperate negotiations we make to feel worthy — of love, of attention, of ourselves. Zhou Xun’s Xiaowei, a fox spirit yearning for a human heart, gives the film its spiritual anchor. Her longing is never played as monstrous; instead, it's heartbreakingly familiar — a desire to be accepted, to feel pain, to be loved without condition. Zhou’s performance is mesmerizing not for its theatricality, but for its restraint. Her quiet devastation lingers long after the scene has ended.
Opposite her, Zhao Wei’s Princess Jing is the emotional centerpiece. Disfigured by a bear attack and hiding behind a golden mask, Jing’s journey is one of internal collapse and fragile defiance. Her love for General Huo (Chen Kun) is complicated by pride, shame, and a growing awareness that her scars — physical and emotional — define her in the eyes of others far more than they should. Zhao Wei brings rawness to a role that could have easily slipped into melodrama. Her pain is palpable, but so is her dignity.
And yet, for all this emotional potential, the film doesn't always trust itself to stay grounded in it. There is a tendency to lean on spectacle — ornate battle sequences, CGI-enhanced landscapes, and secondary plotlines that dilute rather than deepen the central conflict. The love triangle, while thematically rich, sometimes feels structurally uneven. Chen Kun’s portrayal of General Huo, though sincere, never quite reaches the emotional clarity of the women around him. His character is asked to carry too much symbolic weight and too little personal nuance.
The film also falters in its tonal shifts — particularly in the inclusion of comedic side characters and mythic subplots that feel imported from a different kind of story. These moments break the spell, drawing attention to the artifice in a film that otherwise strives for emotional authenticity.
Still, when Painted Skin: The Resurrection slows down — when it lets two women sit in silence, measuring their worth against the love of the same man, or when it allows a demon to quietly yearn for the impossible — it becomes something more than a fantasy. It becomes a mirror for how we see ourselves, and how cruelly we can love one another when we’re afraid we are unlovable.
It is not flawless — structurally uneven and occasionally overreaching — but its heart beats loudly through the gold and ice. For those drawn to stories where love is as much about pain as passion, Painted Skin: The Resurrection offers a beautifully rendered, emotionally resonant experience. One that lingers — not because it is perfect, but because it dares to be vulnerable.

They waste so much water in this movie, it was actually painful to watch
I had desperately wanted to watch this movie for ages. I just couldn't get my hands on it. Finally, it turned out the VERY legal website I literally watch all the other East Asian shows on actually had it this whole time and I just never thought to search for it...go figure!Anyways, when you wait to watch a movie for so long, the danger of being disappointed goes up exponentially. Thankfully, this was not the case with this movie. I have to say though, I did not expect it to turn out the way it did. Somehow, I had missed the fact that this is a queer story. I thought it was about two friends who fall for the same girl and then they go on a road trip?! It actually reminded me a lot of "Your Name Engraved Herein". Almost like that was made in response to this.
I don't know. I just enjoy moody movies with ambiguous secrets lingering unspoken in the air. This is the exact type of love triangle I love: All points connect, everyone is sabotaging each other, and they're all miserable by the end! That is that good sh*t!!!! Yes!
Nobody should be happy when they are actively working to make each other miserable like that! I still felt so sorry for our main character, Jonathan. It has been a minute since I watched a lead character who bore mistreatment so quietly. I know the other two were miserable, a great deal too but maybe when you're that cruel, you deserve to be miserable. Just a thought! Not Jonathan, though...he was there only for the abuse victim vibes.
The aesthetics of this movie are very nice, and overall, it looks amazing. The dubbing took out a little bit of its raw and unpolished indie aesthetic away but it wasn't a severe issue.
I saw a review of this that criticised the female actress' acting, and I am going to have to agree a little bit. I think she could have given us more emotional depth. But Ray Chang was amazing, and Joseph Chang (wait, they have the same last name...?!um...) was good. Still, the film has that indie style of movies where everything seems a little unnatural in the extreme attempt to be natural. Like, people hold silences for too long, and the gazes are too naked for how little they communicate.
I enjoyed it. In fact, I feel like going on an analysis tangent about it because I saw the comment section for the film, and it feels like most viewers are missing multiple key elements of the narrative. So I guess there is a lot that can be discussed.
I enjoyed it. It's not a romance or a comedy, so there is no satisfying payoff by the end. You won't get a happy ending wrapped in a bow. There are no concrete solutions at all. The characters don't reach catharsis or free themselves from their burdens. It's a slice of a messed-up life. You watch along, helpless as they swim through misery and then you stop getting a glimpse at them.
I think it's good but it's not for everyone.

Like 500 days of summer, except ML gets the girl in the end
This is the best modern-day romance CDRAMA so far that I've seen, although I think the title should have been 白月光 (The One that Got Away). The acting, the visual appeal of the leads, the sound/music, cinematography and production quality is at a whole other level entirely compared to other cdramas (especially compared to Hidden Love, the prequel to this story and from the same universe).Heavily influenced by Taiwanese filmmaking and directed by a veteran Taiwanese director, this series uses an ingenious set of flashbacks as a plot device to tell the childhood love story of the two main leads, Sang Yan and Wen Yifan (WYF) from the female lead's perspective: when they first met, how their relationship develops throughout high school and college, followed by the present when they meet again 6 years later. The end scenes of each episode also show flashbacks from the present and sometimes include the same scene from the ML's perspective. It's from his perspective that the audience realizes early on how much he's been secretly pining for her all along and how he hopes she will come back to him. Even as he acts brusque and aloof to the FL, he secretly yearns for her and does everything he can to stay within her orbit and protect her even as he waits for her to come around to him (he even set up his bar to wait for her).
My favorite arc was the first 10 episodes when they meet each other after being apart for 6 years and become roommates. Their awkwardness as they hide their feelings for each other is both heartwarming and heartbreaking as they inch towards a reconciliation and then more. Her sleepwalking becomes the catalyst that brings them closer together as it reveals her true feelings for him, something she doesn't have the courage to express to him initially (when in truth she had moved back for him). (Sang Yan's sister asks WYF if she ever loved him in high school and she confesses to her that she did, something that must have given Sang Yan further hope that reconciliation was possible).
Eventually they get back together, and my favorite scene (besides the finale with the tender proposal scene and final flashback) is in episode 31 when Wen Yifan tearfully confesses to Sang Yan that she regrets leaving him alone for 6 years and wants to make it up to him by living for 6 more years without him so she can live through the pain he experienced. Rarely do you see FLs apologizing for their actions in a relationship, and her opening up and confiding in him was really a sign of growth and maturity for her character. Sang Yan is very moved by what she says and suggests that she can pay him back in their next lives.
In episode 31, the first flashback of when they first met is repeated, this time from the ML's perspective, and the audience realizes that Sang Yan fell in love with WYF from the moment he laid eyes on her (WYF doesn't know this) and that his aloofness and cockiness had always just been an act. (As his best friend, Su Haoan says, Sang Yan may seem tough on the outside but is actually very vulnerable and easily hurt, while WYF seems vulnerable on the outside but is actually very strong and resilient. )
The soundtrack was released before the cdrama and it has some incredible songs on it, including my favorite from the Taiwanese band, Crispy Band: 雨滴中有你 (There Is You Amidst Raindrops). Other standouts include: 任性 (Willful) by Taiwanese band: 五月天 (Mayday) - Sang Yan's theme song, 像晴天像雨天 (Like A Sunny Day, Like A Rainy Day) by 汪苏泷 (Silence Wang), 看着我 (Look At Me) by 严艺丹, 只在今夜 (Serenade) by 毛不易, My Dear by 张洢豪, 倔强 (Stubborn) by 陈珊妮
Overall rating: 9.5/10 - I deducted for the boring side plots like the annoying news intern and grandpa Su and 2ML/2FL romance that weren't really interesting or relevant to the main storyline and for 32 episodes that could easily have been cut in to half that number had the series focused solely on the story of the two main leads.

Viva la Vida. LONG LIVE LIFE!
There are shows you watch for entertainment, and then there are shows that quietly crawl under your skin, settle into the rhythm of your heart, and leave you with a gentle ache long after the final scene. Twinkling Watermelon is the latter. The drama reminded me that life, no matter how messy or unpredictable, doesn’t need to be perfect in order to shine. One quote in particular has carved itself into me, something I’ll carry on my shoulders as I move forward in my own life:
“Life didn't have to be perfect for it to shine. It's the little moments that make your life twinkle—what you experience when those moments come together. And happiness is what you experience when those moments come together.”
As I border between the peak of my youth and its slow, inevitable farewell, this line swallowed me whole. It’s the kind of sentiment that sneaks up on you, the kind that makes you stop scrolling, stop rushing, and simply feel. Because Twinkling Watermelon is exactly that—a story about small, fleeting, incandescent moments that piece together something much larger than themselves.
Watching it felt like being reminded of something I had always known but often forgot—that happiness doesn’t arrive in grand gestures or flawless lives, but in those imperfect twinkles we gather along the way. For me, Twinkling Watermelon was a reminder that my own fleeting youth is still worthy of being lived brightly, no matter how tangled or uncertain it may be.
"My days must twinkle as radiantly as possible." ✨🍉
