the acting was great
I was waiting for the series the moment I saw it coming soon on Netflix and just got around to watch it. I'm a bit disappointed. I guess it might just be personal preference but honestly if it wasn't for the acting I would have rated it lower. the actors were incredible and the plot was promising but for some reason I couldn't get into it. I normally don't mind if a series is slow paced but for some reason I couldn't get absorbed by it.conclusion: the acting was incredible., the plot had so much potential but the slow-paced script felt like they were just dragging out theories to fill up 12 episodes,

Good Sequel (but not as interesting as the prequel)!
I love horrors and watch every type of horror movies.Loved prequel (first movie in this Franchise) and so I was excited to watch this.
***
Just like the prequel, this is not a scary or a disturbing one, just an easy-going one without jump scares.
The story of the first movie continues here and like the prequel, this is a serious horror where you find the family still struggling to ward off the evil spirit, possessing the members in the family.
The eldest brother continues his search for ways to save his possessed family members n goes to any extent to protect his family.
***
Story and Direction are Ok.
Cinematography is Very Good.
The Haunting scenes are Good.
***
The first half of this movie -- the adventures of the eldest brother along with another team continues -- search for ways to ward off the ghost -- this part is Ok and didn't capture my interest much. It's boring at times.
But some scenes here, like the ghost creating hallucinations n confusing the search team, are Good šš»
Second half of the movie is more interesting to watch šš»
The ghost possesses different members of the family.
The brothers n the remaining family members really struggle to protect themselves from the evil spirit.
Here, The hallucinations that are created by the ghost, give an eerie vibe and all such scenes are Good.
Overall, this movie is Ok, didn't impress me much :/
(First movie is Very Good, compared to this n somehow, this movie didn't meet that expectation)
(Maybe, seeing all the handsome brothers in the family n to get their constant attention, the ghost continued troubling the sisters n mother. Just Joking! :) )

My Rating is 7.5 /10

Second time the charm
When I first watched SIMM I didn't like it for some reason i still cannot understand. I remember watching it more for the sake of watching a bl (i was 16 at the time ikik) than for understanding the story. Or maybe its because the plot hit way too close to home for my own comfort and I didnt like how the character behaved cause of what was happening in my life at that time. Regardless of the answer I decided to give it a rewatch and a second change and to be fair, I'm glad I did so.Rewatching it make me realize that, beside definetly not being a masterpiece, it was very enjoyable and very cute. The funniest part is that the show would have ended ep.1 if just Kluen was able to express his feelings like a normal person. No like, fr. The whole thing happened because Kluen was not able to talk (he'd rather leave the room than answer a question that requires some emotional though) and Nuea that was like "yeah but I don't love him anymore" while still very much loving him. And unfortunately for me, I'm a big fan of this trope. Even tho I really think they scratched the limit a bit too much with Kluen like he was really getting annoying to watch at a certain point cause like please SPEAK pls. Really.
The story was simple. It had elements that I liked and elements that I didnt like. For example, oh god, I absolutely hate when a series reference the school being "shippers" like the whole #kluennuea or #nueaklun was geniunly painful to hear cause in no case ever anybody behaved like this omg no need really. I also highly disliked Typhoon character, like, brother, Nuea very much told you very clearly that he has a problem with rejecting people, that it pains him and he is not able and what do you do? Keep asking him out untill he gives in because that's literally his trauma. I found it so distasteful and I wanted for it to be addressed more, like, made clear that personal limits exist and Phoon was CLEARLY stepping over them.
I remember not liking the acting but I kinda need to change my mind. OK, its not exactly oscar worthy, nor a "once in a lifetime" performance, but I gotta say that both of them did their job well enough to get me into the story. Side characters as well. The story is, if you are young, pretty emotional but if you rationally think of it its nothing groundbreaking so of course they didnt exactly have that much to work on, its actually pretty simple and straightforward.
The aesthetic was absolutely non existent, not found not even searched to begin with I guess. I might be a hater on this point but damn. No color grading, some cuts between scenes I could have done better with capcut. The only scene I liked was the one at night at the beach. Still not how I would have executed it but I think the closest this show ever gets to it. Oh, and stop putting music anywhere. Sometimes is way better to just listen to the natural sounds trust me.
Rewatch value was actually very high, cause it was the rewatch that made me like this show. I feel like its one of those shows that, since its being referred to a younger audience, it really changes when you watch it and your older. Kinda nostalgic.
Ps. Joong the prettiest cryer I've ever seen

interesting
I'd say that it was quite more enjoyable than I thought at first. Interesting plot, quite nice actors and cool chemistries between different characters. Also liked the character developments in this show, many learned something from the situations and started to better themselves, which was nice to see.Was this review helpful to you?
Overuse of Filters Simulated Early-Onset Cataracts
Someone went to film school and wanted to try all the filters, light flares, bokeh, over exposure, vignettes, and out-of-focus shots. It was distracting. Too much of a good thing is still too much, and this wasn't a good thing. It's helpful when a drama uses different lighting or focus for flashbacks, and it can be effective in romantic scenes, but there wasn't a pattern or logic used that I could detect for the effects. The relationships between family and friends were more compelling to me than the romance, especially the one between brother and sister. Siblings are often depicted as adversaries in dramas; it was nice to see a supportive, loving, playfully teasing bond for a change. Also going against the trend was FL's stepfather, who was depicted as kind and caring to his stepchildren, often intervening for them with their overbearing mother.
For a drama that committed many of my least favorite tropes or devices (unbelievable amount of Time Skips, Noble Idiocy, Love Triangle, Break Up, Prolonged Unnecessary Misunderstandings, and Dumbfounded Mutism), the relationships and cute interactions kept me watching.

Really good but a little much on the backstory
I really loved this show it was fun and entertaining. I would say the only part that felt a bit dragged on were the long past life episodes but I'm aware those were needed for everything to make sense and fall into place. I am a little confused on why Khun Yai is the only one who remembers every life, the new life at the end showed he still knew him and sean, but I think it was really good either way. I already knew billybabe were good actors but this show also proved that. Was this review helpful to you?
Cute and different
Cute and different. Vibes a bit like Coffee Prince but with a smaller cast and no secret identity. I'm not a huge fan of love triangles, but the ending was good. I liked the slow, casual pace. I wish it was a bit longer so we'd have more character development, but there was quite a bit for how short it was.Was this review helpful to you?

I would jump through time and space for you.
Mmm, This drama gets so much love on socials, The amount of edits i have seen and saved is crazy. First of all the casting was perfect, I think that's why this drama got famous and it skyrocketed all around the world. I felt like the writer was experimenting in the later half of the drama .The first two episodes were good, like, the FL giving second-hand embarrassment, but turns out the ML likes her before she was a fan was good. Sunjae being an absolute loser in love was cute.
They gave a good second lead that wouldn't steal the whole show, but added some good jealousy and love triangle to the story. I didn't get second lead syndrome that much, but I did think Taesung was cute with Im sol.
Im sol was not appreciated enough for the whole show , cause she would sacrifice everything for the idol she loves, She has went through so much trauma, just to keep him safe. Her love is very pure. Especially when she went back in time to never meet Sunjae and try to make her fate forget about Sunjae entirely by not meeting in the rain and everything.
The reason why the story went downhill and felt confusing was because of the thriller part of it, I still have so many questions, What motive did the villian have to chase Sunjae and Im sol many times?, How does Sunjae remember everything from the past?, Why couldn't Sunjae use his watch to time travel?, How did Sunjae become an idol even after he didn't meet Im sol ?, He only tried singing to win a phone for Im sol, then after Im sol went back to change her fate, Sunjae didn't want to enter that competition in the first place but only did for Im sol, but without meeting Im sol, How did he become an idol?. There are many holes in this drama that made it slightly mid tier. And you're telling me we spent the whole show waiting to see the villian's motive only to see him getting hit my truck???.
Yes I do think it's overrated just a little bit, since there are many hidden jems which is better than this, But at the end of the day , this is such a comfort show, The romance is cute, light hearted and binge worthy. I would recommend to the peeps who love a cute romcom with a hint of thriller and mystery.

Chemistry with Love will always find you
I don't know why a lot of people hated on this but hear me out. This drama has a great story even though it's not well structured, I find this structure better because it keeps you hooked until the end wanting to know what's going to happen next.
Although it has some flaws, it is better than many dramas plotwise. The love between Kaetwa and Khun Yai was true love and it is seen in their eyes.
They are both soft in their love and they both trust each other so much which is very good even though we didn't get someone's I love you.
What I really liked is that the plot was consistent and it didn't bring any unnecessary plots or filler episodes. I really like the loyalty in this drama saen was a good friend. You are going to want to shut Som's mouth but you are not alone.
It really combined tragic elements together with the happy scenes, you would be crying at the last one and be swooning at the next one but that's what ket me hooked. And I'm happy that the present gave us something to smile about.
And I can't forget about the best NC scenes which were more than real and the best really. Billy and Babe are really great actors.
I wasn't planning to watch this drama but somehow I found myself watching it and loving it. I really recommend watching and give it a chance. š¤

A Fluffy Romance with Heart
The Unexpected Marriage is a pleasantly surprising romance that wins you over with strong chemistry, engaging banter, and characters that remain emotionally consistent throughout the story. From the beginning, the drama establishes a light, exciting tone that makes it easy to follow and genuinely enjoyable to watch. Even when parts slow down, it never completely loses momentum. What I appreciated most is how well the main leads are written. The female lead stays clever, competent, and respected in her world, while the male lead remains steady, warm, and dependable. Their personalities donāt suddenly change just to create drama, which is rare. Instead, their relationship grows naturally through small moments, conversations, and shared experiences. The banter between them is one of the dramaās biggest strengths and keeps the romance feeling alive until the end.
The actors sell this beautifully. The ML and FL feel like a natural match, and the soft, pleasant soundtrack adds an almost dreamy atmosphere to many scenes. While the drama isnāt perfect and becomes uneven near the later episodes, it never sacrifices the core of what works , the leads and their connection.
Unpolished but heartfelt, The Unexpected Marriage proves that good chemistry and consistent character writing can carry a drama far. If youāre looking for a fluffy, comforting romance with genuine charm, this one is definitely worth a watch.
From around episode 20 onward, the writers try to inject heavier drama, and thatās where things start to fumble. The tone shifts, conflicts feel forced, and character decisions donāt always align with earlier motivations. The last two episodes, in particular, are a letdown.
While the ending is technically happy, it feels strange and rushed when compared to the reasons behind the FLās earlier choices. Instead of emotional payoff, you get resolution that feels more mechanical than earned. Itās the classic case of trying to be dramatic instead of staying true to what worked: romance, banter, and character warmth.
The Unexpected Marriage is one of those dramas that sneaks up on you. It doesnāt look flashy, it isnāt perfect, and it certainly doesnāt have the biggest budget but somehow, it manages to be consistently engaging, emotionally warm, and surprisingly easy to follow. From the start, the drama leans into romance, banter, and character chemistry rather than spectacle, and that choice works in its favor.
What makes this drama stand out is how watchable it is. It never truly gets boring. Even when parts feel draggy, the story keeps its momentum and finds its way back to the core relationship. Unlike many dramas where you get lost in names, politics, or unnecessary side plots, here itās shockingly easy to keep track of whoās who and whatās happening, which makes the viewing experience smooth and comfortable.

When Fiction Makes Obsession Beautiful
I didnāt expect To My Shore to hit me this hard. I was hooked from the very first episode. In real life, this kind of story would be terrifying ā but as fiction, it allowed me to fully enjoy the madness of desire, manipulation, and attraction.
Fan Xiaoās intense manipulation kept me constantly on edge, especially knowing how much I liked him with You Shu Lang. I kept wondering how a relationship like that could ever end well⦠and yet, I desperately wanted them together.
By the time Fan Xiao realized he had truly fallen in love, it almost felt too late ā which made everything even more painful and emotional. Thankfully, it ended well.
Iām so glad I gave this drama a chance. I had no expectations at all, and now I canāt stop thinking about them days later.

When Evidence Speaks: The Power of Forensic Logic in The Truth Within
After two years of grieving the death of his girlfriend, Qi Si Zhe joins the Licheng Police as the youngest forensic medical examiner, driven by one goalāto uncover the truth behind her mysterious death. From the very first episode, The Truth Within pulls you into a tightly constructed world of crime, grief, and relentless investigation. The premise itself is compelling, but what truly elevates this drama is how meticulously it executes its suspense and logic š§ šµļøāāļø.Although the only actor I was familiar with before starting this drama was Luo Yunxi, every actor and actress delivered a solid performance. No one felt out of place or underwhelming. The cast worked as a cohesive unit, especially the investigative trio, creating a strong sense of teamwork and realism. Even though I noticed a few minor illogical moments, they never broke immersion. Overall, the plot remains strong, engaging, and consistently intriguing.
I also want to talk about the dramaās title. Personally, I think the Chinese name Peel of the Cocoon (å„č§) suits the drama far better than the English title The Truth Within. āå„č§ā perfectly captures the core of the storyālayer by layer, truth is revealed through evidence, deduction, and patience. Every case reflects this idea, respecting the audienceās intelligence and allowing viewers to experience the joy of solving the mystery alongside the characters š§©.
Directed by Golden Bell Award winner Zhuang Xuanwei (The Victimsā Game), The Truth Within is a high-quality, hardcore suspense drama with strong narrative control. Despite having just over 21 episodes, the drama weaves together six independent cases without rushing or dragging. The pacing is tight, there is no filler, and each case is packed with clues, reversals, and logical progression. Visually, the drama has a cinematic textureācold tones, damp caves, intricate crime scenesāall contributing to an oppressive yet immersive atmosphere š„āļø.
What impressed me most was the dramaās dedication to classic fair-play mystery storytelling. Evidence is always presented clearly, reasoning is logical, and solutions are earnedānot forced. The first case, the āLolita Murder,ā is especially striking, full of layered clues that demand attention. The second case, āThe Deadly Funnel-Web Spider,ā is a perfect embodiment of the dramaās title: just when you think you have the answer, another layer of truth emerges, and then another. The constant reversals are thrilling without feeling cheap.
One of the most refreshing elements is the use of the armchair detective method. Qi Si Zhe solves a murder remotely using pure reasoning, a rare approach in modern visual media. This respectful nod to classic detective fiction makes the drama stand out, especially in an era where shock value often replaces logic šš.
As a forensic-centred drama, The Truth Within excels in professional authenticity. From microscopic evidence and chemical reactions to autopsy procedures, every detail feels grounded and purposeful. The forensic evidence is not decorativeāit actively drives the plot forward. Small details, such as algae in the lungs or residue hidden in fingernails, become decisive turning points, making the viewing experience deeply satisfying.
Luo Yunxi is undeniably a highlight. Known for his ethereal presence in costume dramas, he proves here that he can fully command a realistic, modern role. His portrayal of Qi Si Zhe is calm, precise, and emotionally restrained, yet deeply wounded beneath the surface. His eyes carry layers of grief, obsession, and intelligence, making the character feel both distant and fragile. The silver-rimmed glasses and clean styling only enhance his high-IQ auraāthis is peak āintellectual attractionā energy š¤š§ .
The supporting characters are equally well-written. The female deputy captain is sharp, composed, and authoritativeāfree from the usual stereotypes often imposed on women in crime dramas. The team leader is steady and grounded, carrying his own scars from the past. Together, they form a perfectly balanced investigative trio, each contributing without overshadowing the others.
Beyond suspense, the drama dives deep into human nature and social realities. Revenge, guilt, obsession, and moral collapse are recurring themes. One case explores how love can mutate into violence; another exposes the long-term trauma of bullying, drug crimes, and social neglect. The drama does not excuse evil, but it forces viewers to confront uncomfortable questions about justice, responsibility, and redemption āļøšÆļø.
Ultimately, The Truth Within is not just about solving crimesāit is about peeling away the cocoons people build around trauma, hatred, and guilt. The title āå„č§ā becomes both a method and a metaphor. A scalpel can dissect a body, but can it truly dissect the chaos of the human heart? This drama dares to ask that questionāand does so with confidence, intelligence, and emotional depth.
If you are a suspense lover, this is absolutely a must-watch. Sharp writing, strong performances, immersive visuals, and deep thematic weightāThe Truth Within is a rare gem in modern crime dramas. Highly recommended. āš„

If you lost your ho to T.I, I'd be like, 'Eh, that's T.I.' But Usher
Whoever made this, NEVER EVER WRITE SCREENPLAYS OR IDEAS OR ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE EVER AGAIN. (Also, my headline just means I can understand the stepbrother shit, but NOT THE FACT THIS SHOW HAS NO PLOT) This was so fucking random and so fucking bad lmao. I would give it a 6 out of 10. I am going to try find things I like about this show and then say what I didn't like.I literally am trying not to only hate on this show, but IT IS HARD BECAUSE I CAN'T THINK OF ANYTHING POSITIVE. Okay, the start was fun, I enjoyed it, and then it fell the fuck OFF. I think the guys have good chemistry, and I don't know how, but it was good. The bottom guy, whose name I can't remember, is cute; he will grow on you, and the other guy BARELY but his sleepy eyes and sexy body are great to look at. Yeah, uh, some of the scenes were also pretty fun, but stupid fun. Also, Dr. Wen is always shirtless, and I would put this on the cons, but he has a great body, so it is a positive. THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE POSITIVE. THE ENTIRE SHOW WAS ASS.
Okay, so the main thing is the plot writing and actually all of the writing. The plot is not even there, and it gets so fucking choppy and every relevant character does this thing where they talk out loud in the direction of the camera about what they are gonna do next FUCKKKK. That was the most annoying thing ever, I swear to god. It was just random plot points that had nothing to do with anything, and I was just like, there is no way that this went through multiple people and became a show. Fuck that made me so angry. ALSO THEY ARE STEP BROTHERS. Which I don't dabble in shit like that, so that's fucking awful. Like, I mean, it could have been worse, but it was one of their main bullshit plot points, and it was just so bad. Also, their dynamic was just so weird because of that, and also because of the boss employee thing, fuck, that was annoying. Like, truly, I can look past the stepbrother shit, BUT THE REST OF THE PLOT IS SO FUCKING BAD, AND YOU CAN'T GET PAST THE FACT THAT THE PLOT IS GOD AWFUL. The romance building is also non-existent, so what the fuck. Also, two continuity errors because I am a little tism, episode 9, with the outfits, they were changed randomly. The other one was in episode 36 with the bathtub bit because they were soaking wet, and then they weren't, like what the fuck? ALSO, THE FACT THAT THE PARENTS ARE JUST LIKE PROUD OF YALL? WHY DIDN'T ANYONE REACT TO THE FACT THEY ARE FUCKING STEP BROTHERS, BRO THAT IS SO FUCKING WEIRD. And everyone is so supportive, but like we shouldn't be because they are stepbrothers. The acting is bad as fuck, like not even enjoyable bad, like I can do fucking better than that bad. Fuck, like I hate to hate on stuff like that, but that was so bad. The main doctor guy, Wen, is lowkey chopped, I can't lie. The plot is so fucking bullshit, I swear to god. Also, there is a random ass love triangle with this guy who is so ugly, like he is hard to look at, and I dont wanna be mean but fuck, and he is a terrible actor too. At the start, they were such fucking alcoholics, oh my god. Yeah, just overall no plot, and they were just doing fucking bullshit.
Just don't, like, wasted an hour of my life on this shit, and time stood still in the final 5 episodes, it got so bad, oh my god. Okay bye!
