10 episodes of sweetness

This was my first Japanese drama so I went in not knowing to really expect. But I have no regrets! The first episode is cringey and the FL comes across like a naive airhead, but she has character development and you end up liking her and rooting for her. This drama does have it's clichés which is not surprising, you know that the minute you meet her character. But overall it still melts your heart just like Dr Tendo's heart melted for Sakura over time. Definitely worth it to watch this drama, rewatch value 10/10 🌟

Honestly I stayed for the romance which was the main part

if you manage to suspend belief that the FL is a man, you can get through it and mostly like it. Acting/casting was 10/10, action scenes were superb, most of all the romance and chemistry kept up all the way through. Plus a strong, independent FL to sell the feminist message.
Obviously the romance angle was the main part from early as Ep 4-5. It really worked for the best and it kept the drama more interesting, instead of just seeing the armies fighting and bad guys scheming.
And the killer lines also help, "she graces my view, occupies my mind, and claims my heart" 🥺

I Liked This Show A Lot

My Troublesome Star is a comedy that deals with a number of blights on society at the moment including the pimping out of underage girls (celebrities in training), how people become forgotten and fall through the cracks and difficult but unforgiving families, acquaintances and friends.

Uhm Jung Hwa plays Im Se Ra very well. Her ability to transform from a down trodden actresses of yesteryear to rebound with grace and beauty, a delight. Sung Seung Heon does what he always does and makes it look easy as the demoted detective and undercover manager.

The OTP are fabulous together, Their relationship began 25 years ago, was lost due to events beyond their control and then reunited through suspicious circumstances. They have some funny moments, heartfelt moments and awkward moments.

The young versions of the OTP deserve a special shout out - perhaps even their own show.

The other main leads and supporting actors are superb. Their ability to be funny, disagreeable or grotesque round out and make the show. The second couple in this regard almost steal the show and are given substantial air time.

Some have said it’s not well written. I disagree. For comedians to be as good as they are in this show, the writing has to be very good. The show leaned in enough on the uncomfortable subjects without being heavy handed.

The epilogues after each episode are so well done. Make sure to watch the final one because it has a range of out takes in it that are a nice collection of behind the scenes.

All in all, My Troublesome Star was an unexpected delight.

couldn’t put it down literally

It says I gave a rating of 8.5. This is actually and 8.79 for me. This is the first park shin hye show I have watched OMG I LOVE HER. She is now in my top 5 actresses ever. Multiple scenes I laughed don’t remember the last time I have laughed at show cause I’ve been very stressed. So so wowzers but it did get a bit idk lacklustre ep 10 and beyond. That dude doing dismemberment to assemble a new human being to put the kylum in sounds so disturbing. The angel that helped kang bit na. I LOVE HER TOO. Second hand man of kang bit na is such a mood. I got kind of upset when ML had a fight with kang bit na and threw I think ashes that can disable her powers I was like BRO! Idk if like in real life there was a judge who releases criminals then teaches them the lesson of what they did to the person by doing it back to them i would be so over the moon for it but people have their opinions. Ye chan mother broke my heart. That serial killer dude really be yapping about putting people out of their miserableness because they are in poverty…WHO IS YOU!!!!🙄😒 such good storyline. Park shin hye you’re literally such a queen. S2 WHEN?! I am gonna tune in from now on to park shin hye dramas. Slay queen.

Another Great & Inn drama. Of course I will watch it…

The story follows Rati, a young man who was born in Siam (now Thailand) but raised in France as the adopted son of a French diplomat. He returns to his homeland as a French interpreter for the Ministry of Education.

In Siam, he meets Thee—a warm and friendly young man who quickly offers companionship. At first, Rati appreciates the kindness, unaware that Thee is no ordinary man: he is, in fact, a high-ranking nobleman. When Rati discovers the truth, he feels betrayed and distances himself, upset that Thee didn’t reveal his status from the beginning.

But fate pulls them back together. Rati is asked to teach French in Siam, and Thee’s father appoints him as the one responsible for overseeing Rati during his stay. Thee uses this opportunity to make amends.

Rati, still hurt and stubborn, tries to ignore him. But all his resistance crumbles when Thee is injured. Panicked and overcome with concern, Rati rushes to his side, marking a turning point in their relationship—a bond that soon blossoms into something deeper.

Meanwhile, Rati faces challenges within his Siamese family. Though officially adopted by the family’s daughter, he was originally the son of a maid in the household. This makes him the target of constant disdain from his adoptive mother’s brother, Ruj, who belittles him. Even as a pointed teacher, Rati receives no respect from Ruj. Thankfully, his grandfather remains the head of the family—and unlike Ruj, he shows respect toward him and values both Rati and his French father.

Rati’s cousin, Mek—Ruj’s son is very different from his father, Mek is kind-hearted and open-minded. He befriends Dech, a working-class man who treats him as an equal, unaffected by titles or status. In Dech, Mek finds honesty and warmth—and soon, their friendship blossoms into something deeper.

Now the questions:
? With the societal expectations of the time, how will Thee and Rati handle the pressure—especially with Thee’s duty to carry on his noble family’s name and bloodline…
? What will happen to their relationship when Rati must return to France…
? Can Rati find peace within his Siamese family? And will Ruj finally face the consequences of his demeanor…
? And what will Ruj’s reaction be when he discovers his son Mek’s special relationship with Dech…

That's pretty much the story without giving anymore spoilers. Now what I like and don't.

What I like:
+ Great & Inn chemistry never a miss.
+ Although quite different than I Feel You Linger in the Air, at least this is a finished story…
+ Jaem & Kui are a funny couple.

What I don't like:
- A little too perfect story…
- Unnecessary drama at the end of the story.

Overall this is quite a good drama.

Genie, Make a Wish – A Painful Waste of Talent

What started as one of the most anticipated dramas of 2025 turned out to be one of the most disappointing. With Suzy and Kim Woo-bin reuniting, I expected emotion, chemistry, and magic — but all I got was boredom and confusion.

The pacing was painfully slow, whole episodes passed with nothing meaningful happening. The story had potential but collapsed under weak writing, emotionless performances, and pointless subplots. Even the fantasy elements, which could’ve made this special, were misused and poorly executed.

And using the name Iblis for a genie? Completely tone-deaf. It wasn’t edgy — it was disrespectful and unnecessary. Instead of creating depth, it made the drama uncomfortable to watch.

By the end, I didn’t care what happened. I just wanted it to end. The OST, visuals, and actors deserved better than this disaster.

If you love Suzy and Woo-bin, go rewatch Uncontrollably Fond. This drama? Skip it.

Final Verdict: 1/10 – A waste of talent, story, and time.

Political story,pinch of brotherhood

The story involves a collaboration of the great eunuch and the sixth prince. At the starting, its is a series of traumatic events that hit sixth prince to turn the tables, and join hands with the eunuch (eunuch is hypocrite, and sixth prince is a student in training). The collaboration is not quite agreeable, because both the party have different mindset, but whenever sixth prince dives into an ocean in despair /naivety, the eunuch rescues him.

At a point they realise their friendship is much more than a chessboard, and the brotherhood is more than mere player and his piece.
One cut his sleeves, and the other stares at the moon with a deep thought, no one says anything and the story ends within it all.

Great Cast, Promising Premise, Disappointing Delivery

I really wanted this drama to be good. The premise has potential, the cast lineup is strong, and I went in genuinely excited to see where the story would go. But honestly… it’s sad to say this one’s a flop.

Five episodes in, and I still couldn’t tell what direction the story was heading. The pacing drags on and on without any real emotional or narrative depth to keep you hooked. It’s like the plot is wandering aimlessly, leaving the viewers wondering “okay, where is this going?” And four/five episodes didn’t provide solid and interesting answers.

The “I should keep watching this show” factor is what I’ll say is missing.

Also, some of the scenes felt very low-grade, especially the VFX. Instead of adding magic or charm, they made the whole production feel cheap. And that’s the most disappointing part: there are great actors here, people you’d expect to shine in a fantasy drama…but the writing and execution just didn’t give them the material they deserved.

The story has so much potential, but the execution completely missed the mark. Sadly, I have to drop it.

Oh, but one thing I did like about the show is the child Ka-Young, she’s a good actress. And I like the grandmother-granddaughter relationship too.

Extremely devastating movie.

This is one of the most frustrating & disturbing stories I've ever come across! I'm sure the movie is a great one but I haven't yet gathered the courage to watch it. I felt a lot of horrible emotions while listening to the story & my conclusion is that "death is a form of mercy." That man doesn't even deserve death! Him and the rest of the authorities who poorly handled this case need to experience whatever that poor girl experienced! Maybe then they'll know the real meaning of suffering! I get so annoyed whenever I even think about this case!

104 episodes of Fatale Promise… and the plot is literally: spends all her time drinking with him. That’s the whole story. After all the “drama,” twists, and cliffhangers, that’s it?! Total nonsense and a complete waste of time. The dialogue is cheesy and exaggerated. Lines meant to be shocking or emotional often feel ridiculous, and the slow-motion shots with dramatic music try to manufacture tension but fail. Every scene is predictable. Every “twist” is recycled from previous episodes, and the story drags endlessly without any payoff. Even the so-called climaxes are underwhelming
Honestly, if you’re thinking of watching Fatale Promise, save yourself the time. The story is weak, the characters are infuriating, and the drama is pointless. Do literally anything else read a book, watch another show, go for a walk ,it will be more rewarding than enduring this waste of time.

LingOrm are great, but not the show

So disappointing. I think I am mirroring everyone who is a big fan of the actresses- they are so good together. Which is why it's so confusing to understand what went wrong with the show? The storyline had potential but somehow it turned out so slow and boring. The actresses who have effortless chemistry on their previous show, and even in promotions- they are just lacking that in this show. The only thing I can come up with is that something went wrong in the direction- because these actresses are undoubtedly brilliant. It's sad because LingOrm are among the best in the GL genre, and with so much competition- their potential was wasted on a subpar show.

Let me be clear- it's not a terrible show, but it's just not upto their mark. I would expect this from an amateur channel, or new actresses maybe- but not Channel 3 or LingOrm. This show might have done well when there were no GLs and fans would've accepted anything- but with the quantity and quality of shows releasing- it fails. And it's such a shame because so many new shows and actresses are brilliant already- so LingOrm show should've said a higher bar. I feel like the direction failed them.

I hope the channel/ teams sees these reviews and makes shows that are upto the mark for the actresses they have hired. I will watch anything with LingOrm in it together- but they have to make better shows if they want to keep up with the competition. Frankly the best part of the show is the chemistry between Ling and her 3 employees. If only they had made the scenes between Ling and Orm feel so natural.

Big Disappointment Despite a Strong Cast

What am I even supposed to say after finishing this?? I went in with such high hopes — Suzy and Kim Woo-bin back together, a big-name writer, a fantasy premise that should’ve been magical. Instead, it honestly turned into one of the most boring dramas I’ve sat through in a while. 😞

The pacing… oh boy. Entire episodes where nothing really happens, just stretched-out filler. You sit there waiting for that “wow” moment but it never comes. Episode 5 and 6 especially — I felt like I was just watching the same mood swings and empty conversations on repeat. By the middle, I was forcing myself through episodes, and that’s never a good sign. 🥱

Now, about the characters. Suzy’s role was supposed to be intriguing — detached, emotionless — but it never evolved. Instead of pulling me in, it just felt flat, almost robotic. Kim Woo-bin had flashes of brilliance, but his genie/Iblis character was all over the place. One second playful, the next scary, but not in a way that felt layered… more like inconsistent writing. The supporting cast? Honestly, barely mattered. Their scenes were just… there.

And then there’s the elephant in the room: naming the genie “Iblis.” I couldn’t wrap my head around that choice. For anyone who knows the meaning, it just felt wrong. I saw so many viewers online calling it insensitive, and I totally agree. Instead of making the story dark or cool, it just left a weird taste and made it harder to connect with the character.

The visuals and OST were nice at times, I’ll give it that. But you can’t cover up weak storytelling with pretty shots. Every time I thought the story was about to take off, it just dragged right back into nothingness. By the end, I wasn’t even excited for the conclusion, I was just glad it was over. 😩

And here’s the most disappointing part for me: Suzy and Kim Woo-bin already proved their chemistry back in Uncontrollably Fond (2016), which I loved ❤️. That drama had heart, emotion, and moments that truly hit hard. But in this new one, all that spark and magic just… vanished. Same leads, but completely different results.

Overall? Huge wasted potential. Beautiful cast, decent music, but painfully boring execution. I don’t hate it — I just don’t see myself ever rewatching or even recommending it. If you’re only watching for the leads, fine, but don’t expect much else. 🙃

I wasn't really into it.

Review (1/10 ⭐)
Genie, Make a Wish turned out very disappointing. The story felt shallow and lacked real engagement, with weak emotional depth and underdeveloped character arcs. Even with a strong cast, the writing wasted their potential. The romance was flat, predictable, and failed to create any genuine connection between the leads. Overall, it felt like a drama with a promising concept but poor execution — definitely not worth the time.

A sweet watch, judge for yourself

I swear, reading the reviews you'd think this was one terrible drama and I almost didn't watch. One review said it's not so bad watch episode one and if you like it continue. Best advice given. I did that but kept waiting for the show to go off the rails. In my opinion it was a sweet story, not perfect, but a good watch. I enjoyed the FL not being shy and inhibited. I enjoyed the ML falling for her first and openly pursuing her. Such a nice change of pace to see couples actually fall for each other early on in the series and then have each other's backs. Nothing too serious here, just relax and enjoy.

"Weak Hero" – A School Drama That Feels Like A Journey of Euphoria

How many of us have ever just wanted to stay in our own world during school life? To live with no expectations, no rules, just peace kind of like a mental getaway? For me, "Weak Hero" feels exactly like that. I never thought I’d sit down to write a review, but this series gave me such a high that I felt like it was worth sharing. If you’re looking for something that gives you that euphoric, uplifting feeling, this is it. It’s not just a school drama; it’s a whole experience.
The show revolves around SI Eun, a genius who may seem introverted but packs a punch when it comes to wisdom and street smarts. He’s the type of character that resonates because of his values—loyal, tough, and fiercely protective of his friends. His stubbornness, which makes him seem cold or even aggressive in some situations, is what makes him stand out. He isn’t perfect, but that’s exactly why he’s so real. You can feel his sense of ownership and loyalty in every fight, every decision.
Then there’s Su Ho, my second favorite character. He’s the extrovert, the social butterfly, but what really stands out is how he’s also the perfect friend to SI Eun. Then there’s Su Ho, my second favorite character. He’s the extrovert, the social butterfly, but what really stands out is how he’s also the perfect friend to SI Eun. Their friendship feels natural and unforced, which is rare in stories that revolve around complex personalities. Su Ho doesn’t overshadow SI Eun, but instead complements him in the best way. They bring balance to each other..
I found myself rooting for characters I didn’t expect to like, and hating ones that felt too real because that’s what "Weak Hero" does best. It strips away the glamor, the clichés, and shows you how lonely and chaotic growing up can be when the system fails you.
If you’ve ever felt powerless, overlooked, or underestimated this story will speak to you. It’s not easy to watch at times, but it’s the kind of discomfort that matters. And when the credits rolled, I didn’t just walk away thinking about the fights I thought about how we all wear armor in different ways.
