This drama is short but amazing, wish it were longer. It has some similarities to Word of Honor (WOH) but with much less heavy drama. One thing I especially loved is that even after the big reveal, the MLs never had any real or prolonged conflict between them. Their relationship felt refreshing and steady.

The action scenes were amazing, smooth, well-executed, and never out of place. There were no unnecessary dragged-out fights where villains escape repeatedly just to reappear later. I’m honestly so tired of leads refusing to go for the final blow, so this was a big breath of fresh air for me XD. However, for the final scene, it would have been better if they showed a more extended fight, especially for such a powerful leader to just die without a real battle. It was a bit disappointing. Also, Ayu/Ye Yu not having a real fight scene towards the end felt like a missed opportunity (although I understand his circumstances, but still).

I didn’t like how tragic the ML’s life seemed to be. It felt like everyone he calls family just dies. It was constant hardship, and while I understand it’s part of his character arc, it was sad.

The story is very straightforward, which I love, but because of that, it ended up being quite short. Still, the visuals were beautiful, from their ethereal looks to the costumes, music, scenery, atmosphere, and overall ambiance. If I could change one thing, it would be the flute-playing scenes—I wish the actual flute sound had been the main focus over the background music.

The acting was great and never felt awkward. My only real complaint is that it was too short, and the ending was sad. I’m still hoping we’ll get news about a secret ending, fingers crossed!

Would rewatch again and again, well some parts would definitely be skip.

Good start ..then something went wrong. Eventually nothing was right ...

The first half of this drama honestly gave me hope. The storyline was neat, the events actually made sense, and there was some logic connecting everything. For a moment, I thought~wow, maybe this will be good.
Then the second half happened… and everything collapsed like a cheap umbrella in a storm.

It seriously felt like two different writers took turns to write it ... Suddenly, the plot went into full chaos mode and the characters lost all personality.

Let’s talk about the ML. This man arrives late everywhere, like police dept arrives on the crime scene. And even when he’s there he ignores the details ..like won't bother to check if the person calling his name is actually in trouble. And the FL… her majesty the time traveler, was decent in the first half, but later? Pure chaos. The list of her stupidity is endless. She tries to be all stealthy but makes noise like a street parade, ending in trouble every time but can't give rest to her Sherlock holmes complex. The brothel episode was peak cringe 🤮, and that tea party disaster~ pure unnecessary drama that ruined the ML’s plan.
This show totally challenged my patience.

PS : who are watching it for the transmigration plot ... Sorry to disappoint, you won't get any juice.

stab me 10 times

too many stabbing , just too many... otherwise it is a really nice drama
i think, the OST, music might be one of the best for a short drama. i found it touching!
I like the female actress, she is always in short dramas but i really like her. beautiful
chemistry between our main couple is excellent. you can read the emotions on MAle actors face easly. he was great.
the final episode as far as i can see, one of the best kissing scene in a short drama
it is just too much revenge, too many stabbing otherwise it was great.

Love and Deepspace but make it gay lol jk unless ?

Idk why people are hating so hard, it’s really not that bad. Sort of interesting plot and their chemistry is still insane. The plot is more set dressing though, it’s basically a standard drama with a little bit of fantasy. I frankly liked the time stuff and wished they did more with it.
Their acting has also improved since Love in the Air.
Also, I freaking loved the OST. Damn, when they started cranking the OST in the background of a scene I really felt like shit was about to go down.

What I didn’t like? Cir is a stalker bro like Phu you need to run 😭😭

I don’t understand why people are so confused by the plot, it’s like one of the most straightforward time plots I’ve seen in a while. He woke up in another Cir’s body and experienced what life would be like if he was with Phu. He thought it was a dream, but in reality he woke up in an alternate timeline.
The Cir’s basically pass the torch to each other. Each Cir discovers the alternate timeline , and shows the next Cir the alternate timeline.
Why does this happen and how? No clue, they never explain this lol. Just accept it as BL magic.

Anyway probably won’t rewatch but it was fine.

His unnecessary secrets became her insecurities

This is bit of a psychological review here… or maybe just my emotional rambling session instead of a proper review best to be read after you watch the drama ~~~ I think the FL’s reaction to the ML hiding his identity was completely justified. I mean, who wouldn’t feel betrayed if you fall for someone who can’t even be bothered to tell you the basics about himself? And fine, he was scared of scaring her at first — but bro had so many chances to come clean.

Honestly, more money or security doesn’t automatically mean more trust value . He probably thought she’d jump with joy after finding out he wasn’t some average Joe (Fu in this case) but the heir of the FUJI empire. Nope, sweetheart. Real life isn’t a fairytale where you feel happy getting the golden axe for asking for the regular one. Sometimes you just feel played, manipulated, and fooled by someone who might be in love with you but treats your intelligence and feelings like dump shit....

let’s talk about that deluxe green tea girl living in his house, his Olympic-level skill of avoiding serious conversations, and his full-time job of hiding things. Yeah… my guy harvested exactly what he planted. But yes, I’ll blame the FL too. She fell in love and gave herself away way too fast. She’s also a hypocrite — using his power to solve her problems while never trying hard enough to truly know him.

The divorce though? Perfect. A necessary slap of reality for him to and a mirror moment for her.

Overall, the plot is decent .. fluffy romance with a side serving of overcooked family politics. Jian Qi was brilliant as always; this man really nails these doting husband roles.. And Zuo Yi’s charm just brought more life into the drama.

Worth a one-time watch.

LOOOOOVE

This show is perfection! The story, acting, cast, directing are all 100/100. HMH and LYX have the best chemistry!!! The hot tub scene, HOT. That wedding umbrella scene, heartbreaking. I get all squishy just watching them stare at each other. I've rewatched this 3x already and I plan to do so many more times.

A nice BL out of stereotype and that you feel like a good wine

One of the best drama I watch and that I don't mind to rewatch again. First of all, we have a couple which are versatile, no stereotype of bottom and top which is good among all the BL we find. The story is really well built and they could do enough with the number of episodes they had. Even with more episodes they would have some stuff to put and it is nice. The actors ... wow. they have a really good chemestry and they know how to act and I am talking about all the cast not just the lead actors. Thank you for making a BL of this high quality.

My ID is Gangnam Beauty

First of all, I want to respond to the criticism surrounding this show. Many people claim that Cha Eun Woo is just another idol actor with good looks but no real talent, undeserving of lead roles. Others argue that Im Soo Hyang was too old for her character, while some felt the story moved too slowly and that the romance was immature.

I personally disagree with all these opinions. Cha Eun Woo proved that he is capable of strong acting. I’m not someone who usually overanalyzes performances, but the constant negativity made me watch him more closely. His character was calm, reserved, and emotionally distant, and he portrayed that personality convincingly. The subtle changes in his expressions revealed his inner thoughts, and his emotional development throughout the story felt natural and believable.

Im Soo Hyang was excellent in her role as well. Since her character undergoes plastic surgery and is meant to look more “mature” than her peers, her age never felt like an issue. She portrayed the character beautifully😌😌😌someone who appears confident and attractive on the outside but still struggles deeply with insecurity. It’s hard to imagine anyone else fitting the role better.

As for the rest of the criticism people will always find something to complain about🥺🥺

At its core, this drama tells the story of a girl who was bullied her entire childhood for her looks. Hoping to start over, she gets plastic surgery before college, believing it will change her life. However, she soon realizes that altering her appearance isn’t enough. True change comes from learning to accept herself and letting go of judging both herself and others based on appearance.

Most importantly, for me, the ending was nearly perfect. It had everything I look for in a drama finale, which doesn’t happen very often😌😌😌😌

Can't figure it out

I started watching this because of LYX and WYX. I loved LYX in "Love In The Clouds" and WXY in "Amidst A Snowstorm of Love" so them in one show should have been a winner right? Wrong.

I don't know what to make of this show. I think the entire cast has zero chemistry with one another. The sisters, the mom with her daughters, the couples, the brothers in law. Even WXY and his assistant MJ have zero chemistry and that master/sidekick dynamic is usually the funniest one! The actors individually were great it's just none of them meshed well at any point in the 12 episodes I've finished so I'm just going to drop this because it's not worth it.

KIM YOO JUNG era, thee actress

A Soundtrack That Resonates

I have to start by saying how much I fell in love with Dear X’s soundtrack. Each song felt like the perfect companion to the action on screen. When Ah-jin was on the move, Lim Kim’s energetic “Run & Run” had my adrenaline pumping and made me feel like I was right there with her. In the quiet, intense moments, Elaine’s soulful “Insane” and Olivia Marsh’s gentle “Eyes on Me” brought tears to my eyes—I found myself humming those melodies long after the episode ended. And Sam Ock’s “Goodbye”… oh, I literally had to pause and catch my breath when that haunting piano and his voice echoed Ah-jin’s heartbreak. The music didn’t just sit in the background—it became a part of the story, pulling me into every emotion of the show.

Twists in the Tale (Story and Divergence)

The plot of Dear X kept me hooked from start to finish. Watching Baek Ah-jin rise from a wounded girl to a ruthless top actress was endlessly gripping, and I loved that the story never let me rest—the pacing was sharp, and each episode had me gasping for more. Just when I thought I knew where it was going, it threw me a wild curveball. I hadn’t read the webtoon it’s based on, but I could tell the drama was weaving its own path. For example, in the final act when Jun-seo’s fate unfolds in a way I didn’t expect—wow, it left me breathless. It was one of those endings that had me muttering, “You’ve got to be kidding me,” and then applauding the writers for taking such a daring turn. I’m still thinking about it days later.
Character :
What I loved most about Dear X was how real and complicated the characters felt. Baek Ah-jin isn’t your typical heroine – she’s brilliant, ambitious, and full of survival instinct. I actually felt sorry for her because of the hell she went through as a child, and was impressed with her for being so ruthless. Kim Yoo-jung brought out every layer of Ah-jin’s personality so completely that I was torn between sympathy and intrgue throughout the show. Then there’s Yoon Jun-seo (Kim Young-dae), Ah-jin’s loyal friend. Watching his unwavering love slowly turn into heartbreak literally made my eyes tear up. And Kim Jae-oh (Kim Do-hoon), the gentle shadow always by her side – his quiet loyalty and grief devastated me. Even Im Re-na (Lee Yul-eum), the rival actress, was more than a typical villain; her jealousy and pain made her feel real and tragic. All these characters felt so human that I kept wondering Diving Into Darkness (Bold Themes)

This show didn’t hold back on the dark stuff, and I loved it for that. Dear X is brave – it plunges into trauma, sociopathy, betrayal, and obsession without sugarcoating a thing. I remember one scene where Ah-jin confronts her past and it literally made my skin crawl (in the best way). It’s the kind of series that makes you stop and ask yourself tough questions about right and wrong. Honestly, I found myself thinking, “Why do people dont get her, i root for her?” That kind of moral grey area kept me thinking long after I turned off the TV. The show’s willingness to tackle such heavy themes is what makes it unforgettable to me.

This Show Isn’t for Everyone

I have to admit, Dear X is not an easy watch, and it definitely won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. If you go in expecting a sweet romance or a clear-cut hero, you might be shocked (and maybe even upset) by how twisted it gets. I remember reading comments from fans and critics who said they began watching expecting something completely different – and honestly, they are lame. The show is intense and relentless. But for me, that’s what made it special. Yes, it can be brutal and unforgiving, but those very qualities made it so compelling. I will recommend it everyone, coz its art.

An Underrated Gem Deserving More Love

I’ve been telling everyone I know: Dear X is criminally underrated and deserves a lot more attention. Seriously, this is the kind of show that should sweep awards season. The writing, the directing, the soundtrack – everything came together so beautifully. I found myself replaying scenes and quoting lines because I was so blown away. It breaks my heart that more people aren’t talking about it. I truly hope word of mouth will spread, because the cast and crew absolutely deserve the spotlight. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in a few years, it’s talked about as a hidden masterpiece.

Final Thoughts: More Kim Yoo-jung, Please!

I could go on and on, but I’ll wrap it up by saying: Dear X was a ride unlike any other. It made me feel a whirlwind of emotions – excitement, heartbreak, anger, awe – and it stayed with me long after the final credits. It was intense, it was beautiful, and it was so incredibly well-crafted. And Kim Yoo-jung… wow, she really knocked it out of the park as Ah-jin. Watching her fully own that complex role was electrifying. I’m already first in line for anything she does next, especially if it’s as dark and challenging as this. Dear X might not be for everyone, but to me it’s pure gold.who I was really supposed to root for.

Performances That Blew Me Away

I can’t gush enough about the acting in this drama. Kim Yoo-jung as Ah-jin? Absolutely stunning. She had this eerie grace – one moment she’d charm you with a smile, the next she’d give you the coldest stare – and I believed it every single time. I was on the edge of my seat during her scenes, wondering which side of Ah-jin we’d see. Kim Young-dae tore my heart out as Jun-seo; every time he looked at Ah-jin with love and confusion, I felt his pain too. Kim Do-hoon’s portrayal of Jae-oh was heartbreakingly gentle – his devotion and sadness were palpable. Even Lee Yul-eum made the icy Re-na feel real and tragic. Seriously, the entire cast owned these roles and made me feel every emotion alongside them.

Weird and lonely

I loved this so much! Wong Kar Wai is so great at making films about loneliness and feeling outcast in the society.

I could see a lot of references to Chungking Express and it made me laugh every time.

I don’t know exactly how I felt while watching this movie. I just know that loved it. Maybe because I’m also a weirdo, and this is a story about ‘the night’s full of weirdos’.

I definitely need to rewatch it more and maybe I will write a longer review then.

boring

It’s fine to watch once, but not something I’d want to rewatch. The acting and the chemistry between the characters are good, but the storyline feels generic and overused. A wealthy heir with childhood trauma, a sweet innocent poor girl, a fake relationship, and a childhood connection — all the usual elements you see in many dramas. Because of this repetitive plot, I ended up dropping it without watching the last two episodes.Overall, the plot becomes predictable starting from episode 6, so it gets a bit boring. But if you’re looking for something light and time-killing, give this one a try.

Ai Zai Ye Mu Jiang Zhi Shi - Fake Dating, Real Feelings: A Romantic Comedy of Errors

📝 Review (WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Emotional Damage)

I enjoy dramas like these to some extent. The part I don’t like is that FLs are usually portrayed as smart women, except when piecing together that their flash marriage husband is the “Big Boss” person. Mad props for not being a full-on weak FL, but minus points for being clueless, even after hints and hints, and then getting mad when she finally realizes the truth. Then I get mad at her for getting mad at Ma Xiao Yu — maybe I’m slightly biased, but he’s just too adorable.

Her bestie originally wanted to send her to one bar, but she ended up at another — that’s where the story started, and it’s quite humorous. And it’s fun to see these guys, usually in Cold CEO or Mafia Boss roles, playing a more submissive or flustered kind of role here.

💭 Final Mood:

“Cute, chaotic, and a tiny bit frustrating — 4.5/5 hearts. Would watch again if I needed a quick pick-me-up.”

sorry -this was really bad script and delivery-dissapointing

gosh this was banal from the beginning (1.25x speed) and painful from about halfway through (1x speed) to be insufferable toward the end (skip 10 sec skip 20 sec skip 30 sec). It still felt like self-inflicted punishment - and I stopped at least 3 times to decide if I should drop again. Decided to write a review to warn others.

The script was horrendous - while the idea in general would have been great to watch - this was not. The plot was going places that hardly anybody likes going - incoherent, out of the blue and inconsistent. Both the story line and the characters. It was messy and all over the place with too many things trying to be played as important and yet losing the impact with cramming way too many things that really did not matter overall. The ending was just plain disappointing. Nothing felt like it made sense.

I like the leads as actors (I am currently finishing He Jian Qi's spree and watched probably 20 dramas with them, combined), but they did not do much here other than standard 5th grader modern woman and cold ancient man. Feel sorry for them to have to play in this monstrosity.

Don't waste your time on this unless you really like torturing yourself.

Doona! — Snooze me Please

📝 Review (WARNING: Potential Spoilers — I’m Not Saving You from Emotional Damage)

Honestly… what hype? This was slow, bleak, and excruciatingly boring. The FL is a walking red flag parade, the ML has zero chemistry with her, and the plot? Weightless. Just a boy falling for a girl because she’s “pretty,” while she toys with him for absolutely no reason. Not being cookie-cutter doesn’t excuse making your audience want to gouge their eyes out. Every episode dragged like molasses.

Even the supposedly “interesting” cast couldn’t rescue this snoozefest. Some reviews claimed people “didn’t understand it,” but I got it—and still wanted to throw my phone across the room. This one’s going straight onto my DO NOT EVER WATCH AGAIN list.

💭 Final Mood:
“Boring, tedious, soul-sapping… and somehow painfully smug about it.”
