The FL felt a bit frustrating at times. She chased the wrong man for years without confirming who actually saved her, never defended the ML when he was bullied, and kept rejecting his affection even after marriage despite seeing how much he cared for her. Later, she ran away without trusting him and even gave her friend access to their home without telling her husband, which constantly disrupted their newlywed privacy. Because of these actions, she often came across as immature, while the ML remained calm, patient, and emotionally steady, which is what kept their relationship moving forward.

The ML, however, was an absolute sweetheart—handsome, gentle, caring, and incredibly strong despite the mistreatment from his father and half-brother. Both actors look great together and have solid chemistry.

While the overall plot is a familiar one—FL loving a man who doesn’t love her back, getting heartbroken, then meeting the ML who marries her—the drama adds a nice twist by revealing their childhood connection and the ML’s long-lasting devotion. He has quietly protected her all his life, and she slowly grows to recognize his goodness.

There’s no heavy toxicity or extreme drama; even the ex-fiancé and the other woman back off peacefully. The FL’s family is supportive, and the ending is warm and satisfying.

Overall, it’s a well-made drama with a sweet couple and an emotionally steady ML who truly carries the story. Highly enjoyable.

Flashes (but unsustainable) of Excellence with many raw, witty and sarcastic dialogs

Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25

I was excited to watch another good sismance show as it’s been a while. The first episode showed great promise! I love the witty, sarcastic dialogs, showing how these best ‘friends’ are not the typical I-will-die-for-my-girlfriend-type vibes. My favorite sismance drama is “Remembrance of Things Past” and I’ve been trying to find another one that hits me the same emotionally. Unfortunately, “Dear Enemy” is not that. Maybe the more slice-of-life feel to it doesn’t hit me the same way with a more dramatic plot in the other drama.

Sismance/Sisterhood (for the most part)
As I said, I love the first episode. The dinner between the 3 ladies and Zhou Mu Sun was excellent. The fake smiles, the fake praises, the subtle and not-so-subtle jabs at each other created this delicious scene. I love it when Luo Man and Chen Kai Xi are at odds with each other. I love how they can lay everything down, yell at each other, hit where it hurts the most. And of course, at the end of the day, they are still best friends for life, and will do everything to support each other. Their friendship is precious, even after not seeing each other for years after college. However, there are also many scenes where it feels dragged out. There’s a lot of talking and not a lot of action. Sometimes they sound quite preachy.

Chemistry between Luo Man and Zhou Mu Sun
I was eating up the chemistry between the two since the very beginning. They are mature, intellectual, sarcastic and like word gymnastics and twisters. Their push-and-pull was excellent. But above all, they are honest with each other, and expectations are set at the very beginning. I don’t really know if I should say their romance is slow burn or not. As a romance lover, I do like to see their romance take up more screen time than anticipated. Yet at times, it feels like the back-and-forth lasted too long, with the pauses breaking the rhythm and chemistry. But that very last scene of them together at the restaurant was excellent. It was so honest, so true and what a slap-in-the-face wake up call.

Luo Man vs Chen Kai Xi
What a fun character she is! I love her and the actress, Gai Ye. This is the first time I’ve seen Gao Ye in a main role and I don’t remember her at all in the two guest roles I’ve seen her. Luo Man is the fun at the party. I look forward to whatever comes out of her mouth next. Such a firecracker who doesn’t give a damn (or pretends not to). Because she’s such a fun character, her friend Chen Kai Xi feels like such a boring housewife to me. I am not sure if I like Michelle Chen’s acting here, or just dislike how her character is written. When Chen Kai Xi is not having a confrontation or heart-to-heart with Luo Man, I find her super bland. Her storyline does not bring anything new or any excitement. Compared to the fun work life and romance Luo Man has, hers is when I feel the drama drags on.

Chemistry between Luo Man and Fang Chi
Their story could have been better if given a little more time to develop. The first encounter was interesting, but that awkwardness didn’t quite carry through to the initial development of their relationship. Fang Chi is cute and adorable, shy but not shy. I actually quite like his character and it’s a great contrast to the chemistry between Luo Man and Zhou Mu Sun. The shooting of the documentary is my second least favorite part of the drama (1st is the marital problem). It only provides Luo Man and Fang Chi to be at the same place at the same time, but not enough depth to build on a possible romance.

Zhong Qing Cheng
Wang Peng is so beautiful in this drama as Zhong Qin Cheng. I haven’t seen her in a while, and I like a more mature Wang Peng. I enjoyed her story and her scenes in the first half of the drama, but then she seems to have fallen off the face of the earth, and only pops up when needed to advance the other storylines. I wish Zhong Qing Cheng has a more integral part in the sisterhood. Her part in the last couple episodes feel really rushed and incomplete.

Despite this not being a perfect drama, I would still recommend “Dear Enemy” if you are looking for a strong sismance/sisterhood drama. When it was good, it was really good. The three women are strong and smart. They have their own background story, adventures and challenges in life. It’s lovely to see how far they have come and the growth and understanding they have of themselves. But if I still feel a little distracted and bored during these short 24 episodes, then something is not hitting me right emotionally.

Cute but nothing special

That was a nice short series with a lot of wholesome and funny moments.
Due to it being so short, everything felt really rushed, but it was still an enjoyable watch.

The whole vampire thing was extremely underwhelming, not gonna lie. I wasn't a fan of how their eyes looked when they smelled blood. And as far as I'm concerned, it was supposed to be a romance series about vampires, but to be honest, it felt like just a classic “forbidden love” series. Even if we took away them being the vampires, not much would've changed about the plot.
I really liked the side couple, even though they barely had any screen time. I still loved them.

Overall it was an enjoyable watch, cute and funny at times, but as I said, nothing special, just a classic short BL series.

frankly? ...boring

I don't why but I couldn't get into this drama. On paper there is everything: two passionate leads, a sad backstory, a trauma to resolve, some cheeky moments but in reality I didn't feel anything.
The plot revolves around 2 childhood friends that for some unknown reason to the viewer (until episode 3) are unable to connect again after years.
We follow these characters while they open up their hearts and let go of a painful past.. sounds good? On paper.. yes.
The male lead is obnoxious and the female lead is annoyingly stubborn , basicly a tsundere.
Even though the drama is filled with "heart breaking" moments I didn't feel anything for them.
The drama is full of flashbacks that interrupt the natural flow of the drama. 2 characters are in the middle of a conversation and the time goes back to the past to feed us some details to better understand what it is going on. I get that this style of story telling can be interesting but it was overused in this drama.
It is a constant back and forth, back and forth and at the end it became annoying.
The theme of the drama is "summer" because the protagonists used to meet only in this season because of circumstances but the talking about summer, seasons in general, stars is too much.
They keep repeating the same stuff over and over again.

Spoiler: the main actors plays 2 roles, 2 twin brothers and I must admit he did a pretty bad job. I like the actor but his portrait of the 2 twins was confusing. Is some scenes I was confused about who was who or maybe they did in purpose just to confuse the audience and make things more "dramatic".
The love story is typical of this kind of drama. Very surface level love between two childhood friends. I didn't feel a strong connection. The fact the actors didn't have much chemistry didn't help.
Mid drama I was more interested in the second couple.
The main leads were annoying , repetitive and boring even though they have interesting back stories but we don't explore them too much in depth.
I watched the last 2 episodes skipping here and there because I lost interest in the story.

This a standard drama and if you don't have anything on your watch list or don't care about "explosiveness" I think you might enjoy it.

GOOD SHOW! GREAT ACTING

I’m always in wonder of what people are looking for, when reviewing shows and movies. Yes, some scripts are terrible, but great acting can still make it worthwhile. I did not find the Typhoon Family script to be bad, as I’ve read in some reviews. However, I wanted more of Sung Dong-il and Kim Hye-eun’s characters. I love them in everything! Stellar actors! Outstanding in Typhoon Family were various relationships and their inter-workings. I discovered Lee Jun-Ho (Tae-poong) in the show, “Rain & Shine”; knew nothing of his background-just thought the kid did a great job. “King the Land” made me research his other works, due to all the hoopla about the show. Interestingly, Jun-ho has mastered romancing, not only his ingenues, but the camera, which appears to love him. Kim Min-ha (Mi-seon) came to my attention in “Pachinko”. I was mesmerized by her work. She presented then, and now, as authentic, with soft strength and mature beauty. I enjoyed their on screen performances. The show provided opportunities for each character, in the role of employees at Typhoon Co., to showcase acting skills. Bak-ho and his son, Jin-sung, had a powerful interaction to their father/son relationship, in the end. It was great witnessing the revelations and growth in Nam-mo (Tae-poong’s best friend) and those connected to him. I loved the show and anxiously awaited each episode. Rewatchable for me. Hated when it ended.

What the hell is wrong with Min Joon?

At first I was super confused about whether it was really the first episode because it already starts off spicy, I never expect that from a KOREAN BL, at that, LOL. But then more context came in, although I found the choice of timeline complex and confusing, but I got used to it. Now, about the characters. Jin Hwan is a character who was put in a position of being a player from the beginning by Min Joon, but he never actually gave any indication of it; he was just affectionate with his friends (and very handsome). Now about Min Joon. Simply the MOST unbearable character I've ever seen in my life. From the beginning, he let his insecurities get the better of him and never bothered with communication. After 8 years, the disagreements were explained, and EVEN THEN, despite him repeatedly saying he wasn't the same, that he had changed, blah blah blah, he still acted like a jerk. After sleeping with the boy again, as soon as Jin Hwan answered Woo Hyeok's call, he started acting all fussy again??? And this was ON THE WAY TO WOO HYEOK'S WEDDING, like??????? What the hell is wrong with him? Then after all that, he got worried about Jin Hwan, and then when he saw him, he told him to get lost????????? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIM? After he finally got some shame and went after Jin Hwan, guess what? Again, he's creating problems where THERE ARE NONE. Damn, how I hate him. He is super aggressive, rude, and toxic towards Jin Hwan, I hate him SO MUCH.

AT LEAST the acting was good.

a/n: I wrote this after watching just the first few minutes of the last episode, and I initially gave it 4 stars. However, Min Joon was talking about how he bought a cake that you can put other things on like cheese and sausage in, and Jin Hwan simply replied: "We already have it here" (while looking down, referring to his genitals... 😨).... I'm changing it to 3 stars.

Finally, a K-Drama with lead who loves rock/metal music ?

If you're a sucker for K-drama clichés galore like me (and let's be real, who isn't?), "My Dearest Nemesis" is serving them up with a side of swoon and giggles for sure. And I would be lying if I said I wasn’t hooked from the very first episode.

Things I enjoyed: I really liked the delightful blend of humor and heart. The banter between the leads is sharp and witty. It's a wonder they didn't set off my smoke alarms. There’s no unnecessary fillers or any secondary plots. Writers waste no time, which is always a plus in my book (I skip/fast forward a lot when I watch).

The female lead is feisty and smart and can handle herself. Plus I’m a fan of Moon Ga-Young. I really loved her in “True Beauty” and she doesn’t disappoint here. As a character she is consistent.

Now let’s talk about the adorable male lead (played by Choi Hyun-Wook). He is nerdry, liked rock music, goes to concert, reads comic books, collects toys, and of course pining over his ice queen of a coworker? Swoon-worthy, I tell you!

Despite the drama only being 10 episodes long (a rarity in the K-drama world since they are typically 16 episodes), the character backstories and motivations were refreshingly well-developed. No needless separation at the end, either—just a wholesome, fuzzy-feeling conclusion that left me grinning like a sixteen year old.

Things that I think could have been better: Many longer K-dramas always wobble in the last quarter. Perhaps because writers run out of steam. Not sure. "My Dearest Nemesis" doesn’t really suffer from this much but the last couple of eposides could have used a little zing. While we get a lot of snippets of their HEA, the resolution with the main antagonist feels a little rushed and there seems to be no actual climax. However, I am not upset over this. This is better than that the separation trope where one of them disappears because he/she things it’s going to make their loved ones life better. Then magically appears 5 years later and everything is okay. Instead, in “My Dearest Nemesis,” the leads actually communicate (not without some secrets) and support each other like a real couple.

Overall:

"My Dearest Nemesis" is a solid 8.5/10 laugh-out-loud rom com with tons of cute situations. If you're looking for a rom com that's equal parts funny and heartwarming, this drama is the perfect antidote to all those angsty, melodramatic K-dramas out there.

Trust me, your inner K-drama addict will thank you.

P.S. Since I’m a music nerd, I want to say the soundtrack is amazing. Special Mention goes to Stay by NELL. I added it to my playlist.

A Delightful Blend of Laughs, Romance, and Superpowers

If you're in the mood for a romantic comedy that's firing on all cylinders, then look no further. The 2017 K-drama "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" delivers just that.
This is one of those rare shows with no bad/boring episodes. It has it all: plenty of laugh-out-loud moments, sizzling chemistry between all three leads, swoon-worthy romance, and a dash of superhero-esque fantasy.
The premise is simple. Do Bong Soon (played by Park Bo Young) is a petite and kind-hearted woman who just so happens to possess Herculean strength, a gift passed down through the women in her family. When she catches the eye of the handsome and eccentric CEO of a gaming company Ahn Min Hyuk (played by Park Hyung Sik), who is in need of a bodyguard, Bong Sun's life is thrown into chaos.
Ahn Min Hyuk is a simp for our girl from the moment he sees her. He probably doesn’t even get yet that’s he’s fallen, but it doesn’t take him long. What’s stopping their relationship from flourishing early on is her crush on her childhood friend, policeman In Guk Du (played by Kim Ji Soo). Gu Do however keeps our girl Bong Soon in the friendzone while seeing someone else. Still, he’s a caring friend and when Ahn Min Hyuk enters the picture, we have a crash of that alpha energy… and really hilarious moments between all three due to the little misunderstanding about Ahn Min Hyuk’s sexual orientation. There are so many opportunities here to make it entertaining and the writers do just that.
Love triangle (if done right) is my favorite trope and this drama delivers. Our heroine is confused and has to make a choice between the two and they are both equally great man.
We also have a serial kidnapper in the neighborhood and our characters get entangled in that as well. This add a little more flair to the show.
The writing is top-notch, with countless little details that all come together in a cohesive and compelling way. Bong Soon is an incredibly relatable heroine, and we can't help but root for her as she undergoes a wonderful journey of self-discovery and empowerment, learning how to use her powers for good. The two male leads—the playful Min Hyuk and the earnest police officer In Guk Du—provide the perfect foils, each bringing their own unique charms to the table. I’m also going to say that the chemistry between male leads is amazing. Sometimes, I had no idea if I wanted either one of them to end up with our girl.
Check out what I’m talking about here.
Park Hyung Sik was born to do comedy, in my opinion. He’s a charming, silly, smitten, and adorable in this role. He and Park Bo Young sparkle on screen, delivering gut-busting moments that never feel forced. And the way the show balances the humor with heartfelt themes of family, friendship, and justice is nothing short of masterful.
I honestly, enjoyed this drama so much, I can talk about it for days. I can’t remember when I laughed so hard when I watched romantic comedy. K-dramas also tend to get all mushy toward the end with the comedic elements being pushed back to give room for other things. Here, it’s not the case and I think this was the right choice.
Kim Won Hae who played Team Leader O and his gangster doppelgänger needs an award for his dual role in this. He nailed it. I think Team Leader O is my favorite side character in all of the K-dramas I’ve seen. And I’ve seen a lot.
Overall, if you're in the market for a romantic comedy that will keep you thoroughly entertained from start to finish, "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" is an absolute must-watch. With its winning combination of relatable characters, swoon-worthy romance, and just the right amount of superhero flair, this drama is pure perfection. We also have a really good wrap with with everyone involved and no loose ends or unnecessary break up between the lead couple. You’ll have that awesome fuzzy feeling after finishing that will lift up your mood for sure.
P.S. I do have to say that while I’d like to see Ji Soo (he was great in Moon Lovers) return to screen, you need to make your own decision about the actor and if you want to support him. In 2021, school bullying and assault accusations were made against him and his career stalled. While, it appears that most of the accusations were cleared out, the controversy caused him to lose his contract. I find it sad. I think there are worse (and proven) things actors in Korean industry has done. Compared to some, this is in my opinion is not worth losing a career if the person is truly sorry and tries to somehow atone for what he’s done. In any case, this is just my opinion. I encourage everyone to think for themselves.
Otherwise, enjoy the drama and laugh a little.

The chemistry was chemistrying, but the romance wasn’t romancing for the main couple

As someone who's been dipping my toes into the Thai BL dramas for a few years, I have been expecting a lot more from Khemjira. Let me tell you, this series had me feeling some pretty mixed emotions.

On one hand, I truly enjoyed watching the rich cultural and supernatural elements woven throughout the story. The show's deep dive into Thai mythology, shamanism, and the paranormal was a refreshing change of pace from the typical BL fare.

It was like a crash course in fascinating local folklore, and I ate it up. The production quality was also top-notch, with the longer episode runtime allowing the narrative to unfold at a more leisurely pace. As someone who appreciates a slow burn, I definitely liked that we had a lot of fleshed out scenes.

However, despite all these enticing aspects, I have to admit that Khemjira didn't quite live up to the hype for me. When I saw that rating here was 8.8, I was really expecting something extra extraordinary, especially in the romance department.

And the biggest issue I had with the drama is the lack of properly developed romance between the main leads, Khem and Peem. While their connection was rooted in a past-life narrative, the present-day development of their relationship felt incomplete and almost one-sided. Khem, in particular, came across as a passive and rather uninteresting character, failing to garner my sympathy and investment in his journey.

Khem's character development, or lack thereof was very disappointing. Of course, I did not expect from him to be doing some unnatural acrobatics, but he was reduced to cooking and washing dishes. He didn't seem to have any other interests. I think if the storyline about him being into art was developed a little bit more that would probably make him at least a bit more interesting.

Compared to Knockout," where the physically weaker protagonist actively participates in problem-solving and team efforts, Khem's passivity and reliance on others felt frustrating. As a viewer, I found it challenging to root for a character who seemed to be merely a "damsel in distress" rather than an active participant in his own story. I basically agree with everyone that I have seen said the same thing about the character.

Acting:

Keng’s performance of the shaman was a particular highlight. His Master was way too believable. I also am not going to put down Namping’s acting because I think he had to work with whatever was in the script. And as I have mentioned above, his character was not written very well. So I am not going to compare their acting because I haven't seen them in any other drama before.

In contrast, the secondary couple's storyline felt much more well-rounded and engaging, with a stronger sense of chemistry and emotional investment. This disparity between the main and supporting narratives was a bit jarring. I mean, the writers missed an opportunity to truly capitalize on the potential of the central romance.

NC scenes: they were well done, especially Charn and Jet’s scene. I thought it was the best one of the series. The NC in the final episode for lead couple wasn’t as good as the first scene they had in the earlier episode. But that’s just me.

Let’s put it this way: the chemistry was chemistrying, but the romance wasn’t romancing for the lead couple.

That being said, I did like the series for its bold departure from the traditional BL formula. Its cultural depth and production value is great, but ultimately the drama falls short in the crucial area of the well-developed romance between the main characters. While it may not have lived up to the hype for me, the series still offers a unique and thought-provoking experience. With more attention to the main character development and a stronger central romance it could have been a 15 out of ten for me. It's still worth a watch if you like slow burn.

mixed feelings ?

if you are in it for the romance it's great , the plot not so much .
you get a great start with all mystery around lin xirou , earth fiends, South mountain hunters and our ML and FL.

we got to know yan tou's and nie jiluo' background which was great .
the characters' individual growth and development was great

in the end we were left with some unanswered questions what happened to yan tou 's sister is she dead , how did jieluo's mother become that white haired earth demon ? what is she doing in the twilight chasm ?

the ending was so anticlimactic , from lin xirou's death , deaths of hunters and how the ending turned out as a whole , for me the ending was disappointing, it's like that kept building up for nothing .

yet glad it was a happy ending , FL losing her memory of ML was so uncessary .

New to BL or LF Youth, Healing & Light?

The random funny sound effects are unexpectedly delightful and add a charming layer of fun.

Beyond that, the show radiates a warmth that explains why it’s so beloved. Although a few awkward scenes pulled me out of the show.

It’s still a good recommendation for anyone looking for a light, youthful, healing or new to bl.

Everything was good... Until it wasn't

If there is two tropes in BL that I really hate, they'd be 1- Everyone is gay and 2- Straight people turn gay for no reason at all.

This drama has the latter.
On one side we have this very disciplined, very mature, and extremely level headed STRAIGHT Jae Yeon, and on the other we have the very childish, rude and annoying Do Ha.
Guess who turns gay in the last 3 mins because of the other one... *Facepalm*

I mean this is a BL and I KNOW that so I'm not gonna sit here and expect to see straight couple, but at least make it realistic a little.

I'd understand if it was Jae Yeon who is gay and you know, try to seduce Do Ha and Doha falls for his mature personality and his manly character, but what did Doha do exactly to make the totally normal Jae Yeon changes his sexuality and falls for him! He was rude to him in front of many people, he misunderstood him and judged him for that misunderstanding, he bothered him all the time, the confession was the worst I've seen ever, and they didn't get close enough for any sort of feelings to arise....

Through the whole thing I was waiting for their feelings to grow, we can clearly see DH falling for JY, deservedly, but the whole time JY treated DH as a friend, barely so, and suddenly all of a sudden a confession, change of sexuality and the beginning of a love story, and we are supposed to believe that!? Alright.... Whatever you say ~~

Giving it a 4 because I liked JY, he was a dream guy.

One of best GL released on 2025

This series is too underrated, seriously.

Top tier writing and directing.
Great pacing, layers, and build up. Cinematography and editing are on point too.
The actresses are doing great job! Especially during emotional moments. They nailed the comedic ones too. God, I'm obsessed!

A few first episode is light and fun with some comedic scene, gradually becomes a little bit more sweet and heartwarming, then angsty heart wrenching in the later episodes.
Each episode is like giving me a or some pieces of puzzle that makes me understand the characters action more, what they have been through and shaped them, while never justify what they've done.

If you want toxic grey character yuri, this is for you.
Please watch it until the end and pay attention to their dialogues.
Some people might dropped it in the early episode because they thought it's just a plain romcom, no it's not.

Great Chemistry Between the Leads and Entertaining Premise . . .

This drama just drops you in right away. The world is thinly sketched out world and assumes you know the basic tropes of the genre.

What keeps you hooked is excellent chemistry between the leads and multiple stacked plot/mysteries:

1) When will it be revealed Ming Yi is actually the enemy?
2) How will both Ming Yi and Ji Bozai survive multiple poisonings and plots against them? Will they both be able to survive?
3) Who will confess their love first and how?

There's LOTS of angst, protectiveness, rescuing and a smattering of jealousy. Plus a good secondary romance as well. I also appreciated the theme that whatever trauma you suffered growing up, you still have a choice on your morals, ethics paths in life as an adult.

The costumes and settings are a bit more creative and unusual than other shows. I do wish they shot a bit more in the real world almost everything is CGI.

One of my favorite couples modeling an equal partnership, an entertaining watch even if it slows in the last 5-10 episodes. Highly recommend!
