Sadly not sold on this one

It is one of the most mentioned dramas, when it comes to recommendations.

Now, after watching it finally, my impressions about this show are … well … mixed.
At the beginning it has gotten some additional love from me just for reminding me of my favorite MM book trilogy Missing Pieces by N.R. Walker.
There the couple needs to navigate the new and changed realities after a traumatic brain injury.
Gladly in this drama the injury wasn’t nearly that serious and resulted “only” in a partial amnesia.

I liked the cast and their acting was good most of the time. The MC conveyed chemistry and the shown intimacy - emotional and physical - was convincing most of the time. The only bummer here was the bedroom scene: if the actors don’t feel comfortable showing physical desire and pleasure in front of a camera, close the door on the scene earlier. Writing and directing should have found a workaround here. That part was awkward.
But that was still only a minuscule blip on my judgement radar.

I had my bigger issues, with how the story was told. It felt choppy and hasty most of the time with important parts missing.
Within 8 or 10 episodes the plot could have been given more depth, which could’ve brought more insights into the characters and their intentions behind their actions and decisions.
Especially the fact, that they had issues as a couple on a level, that they were on the brink of a breakup at the beginning, got nearly completely abandoned in the end.
These issues should have been addressed.
Yes, they were reunited at the end. But without resolving their underlying problems it is a HE without a solid ground to stand on.
That leaves us viewers behind with mixed feelings.

Perfect show for people with undeveloped frontal lobes

If you’re looking for cringe-heavy, Wattpad-style entertainment tailored for media-illiterate teenagers, complete with rubbish dialogue and constant second-hand embarrassment—all fueled by a concerning amount of smoking—this is the perfect show for you.
Everything about this series is extremely lackluster. Calling it one of the best BL (Boys' Love) shows in existence is distasteful and disrespectful to truly incredible series. However, I must give praise where it's due: as one of the first Chinese BLs, they certainly broke ground. Even if they failed the technical aspects, representation matters.
Maybe I’m being overly critical, but you should only watch this if you don't care about the plot making any sense at all.

Don't Waste Your Time

This is one of those dramas that gain hype through short clips on Reels, gaining traction and interest from the global community, not local (because Chinese people appreciate plot more than anything). I guess a lot of people use the term "vertical drama" but this is more like a short cdrama from a lesser known production company...

Anyways, I too was one who came in after seeing their reels, which are all snippets of the leads kissing. They're all quite impactful, I give you that. I also thought I'd give this a try because the two male leads have worked on reputable dramas before. Unfortunately, I had to drop this about halfway and that was a stretch.

The plot makes no sense from the beginning-- there's no explanation of this affinity virus and its origins, and the drama synopsis is completely different from what's being shown on screen. The CGI is NOT even remotely good, contrary to those who claim it is... c'mon it's 2026. That orange octopus coming out of nowhere LITERALLY had me laughing out loud. It looks like a school videography project. And don't get me started on the farfetchedness of some other... creatures😂

The leads aren't the worst actors, and I've seen them all on several other projects, but despite all the skinship they didn't even have good chemistry. Their off-screen chemistry was loads better.

So... to describe this in one word, I'd say cringe. And not the good kind. The embarrassing kind. 🫣

episode 3 ruined episodes 1 and 2

Overall: I quite enjoyed the first 2 episodes, realizing it's a very indie production; however, episode 3 ruined things. 6 episodes about 6 minutes each. Airing on Queer Deep's YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLkrefPXGX2ya2fvYODySdXnGenCnRLMTn

Content Warning: lying/manipulation, non con kissing

What I Liked
- initial set up

Room For Improvement
- I have no interest watching a cheater cheat, they didn't even clear things up in the final episode
- I like kissing/natural noises but the kissing was a bit too loud

well this one was a doozy... really i'm not sure what to say as i've only watched one other drama where the leads has died. the story of this drama was really interesting and complex and I thought it was great to see 차무혁 find his sister and nephew. I wish 오들희 was told about him being her son, but I feel like she knew internally and maybe unconsciously which is why she felt so pulled to 무혁 and 서경. I feel sad to know 송은채 chose that way to go, but I guess it was unavoidable really. I probably wouldn't watch again because I feel like the biggest secret not being out was a bit of a waste of plot. overall, I enjoyed the music.

and sorry I don't know what's the proper name romanizations because it's get spelled differently everywhere.

Rewatching a show at a new point in my life

So I had been an avid reader of the webcomic Yumi's Cells by Donggeon Lee till its ending back in 2020. I loveeee Kim Go eun and try to watch everything she's in and it was such a gift that a webtoon i loved so much was going to star one of my favorite actor.

I started rewatching Yumi's cells a month ago after going through a breakup (i used to fangirl about the webtoon back in 2020 with that person so this show hits hard) and this show has been comforting me for the last month. I just wanted to come here to say how beautiful of a story this really is. Maybe its because its my comfort show but even so, looking at the things Yumi goes through at the end of the seasons and how she handles it through both the seasons and grows has helped me look at my own situation in a better light. There might be Wung shippers, there might be Ba Bi shippers but at the end of the day the line in the show, " There is no male main character. You're the only main character Yumi" hits home. This show is Yumi's cells and watching a character develop through relationships, career changes is just so refreshing and wholesome.

Cant wait for the third season. the casting line up is also so exciting (if what ive seen online is accurate).

Definitely recommend rewatching this show when you need a pick me up or a little comfort corner.

THIS BROKE MY HEART INTO A MILLION PIECES IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE AND I'D DO IT AGAIN ??

I honestly don't even know where to start from. This drama was perfect in every sense from the casting to the chemistry to the special effects to the visuals everything was top notch. The chemistry between the main leads Fan Yue and Bai Shuo was so amazing OMG I loved them together. I also loved Bai Xi and Zhong Chao together. I literally cried so much while watching this drama. WHY DID EVERY SIDE CHARACTER HAD TO DIE WTH😭💔. I'm so happy that at the end they got their happy ending but what was the fault of other characters. Xi and Zhao deserved to live a happy long live with each other my shyalas. She suffered so much on the hands of Zhen Yu and then she didn't even get that much time with Zhao and Shuo. The past story of Xing Yue and Jing Yuan was also so beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. And one thing about me is that I live for these kinds of heartbreaking stories. Like wdym they were fated to meet fall in love and then he was going to die (talking about Fan Yue) . Tian Huo and Mu jiu deserved to live a peaceful calm live travelling the world together (in my mind they are). I honestly loved the writing and how well every character was written. They weren't just there for the plot, the side characters also had depth and were complex with their own backstories. Also the villains weren't just there for the sake of being bad, they had a history and a motive, don't get me WRONG I still hate Mo Li. Overall, this was my first fantasy CDRAMA and it did not disappoint.

Decent Advertisement drama.

I want to watch this drama last year but there is no proper subs until i found the savior Jwells (Thank You for your hard work).

The duration is short (less than 30 minutes) so you can watch when you're on break time.

The plot is about ML who was former factory worker wants to start his noodle shop business with FL. The villain was thug SML who want to destroy ML business and doing black campaign for making his shop getting more customer. But ML noodles was more delicious. SML create bet for ML for making noodle competition. The classic trop.

This drama was down-to-earth drama so the pace was fast. Shu Tong delivers simple, honest, and down-to-earth ML while Zhang Chu Xuan nailed as his feisty wife. The couple balance is like yin yang. Wished they could collaborate in longer drama.

Worth to Watch.

Episodes 9 and 10 mark a profound and emotional turning point for the series, shifting the narrative from a clever heist drama into a high-stakes political tragedy. Following the devastating loss of Min-jik, the story follows Eun-jo (Nam Ji-hyun) as she descends into a state of raw grief and a relentless thirst for revenge. This emotional shift creates a painful rift between her and Prince Yi Yeol (Moon Sang-min), as she pushes away the one person trying to shield her from the palace's mounting dangers.
The tension peaks during a beautifully shot, rain-soaked confrontation where Eun-jo accidentally wounds the Prince, realizing too late that he was acting as her silent protector. This moment showcases the phenomenal chemistry between Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min, particularly the Prince’s heartbreaking decision to offer comfort rather than blame. As the political web unearths the truth behind the King’s "madness"—revealed to be the result of hallucinogenic incense—the stakes reach a boiling point.
In a masterfully timed cliffhanger, the mysterious jade bracelet triggers a second body swap just as Eun-jo is on the verge of a dangerous assassination attempt. Finding herself suddenly trapped in the Prince’s body while standing face-to-face with the King, Eun-jo is forced into a role she is unprepared for. These episodes are being hailed by critics for their relentless pacing and the seamless blend of supernatural elements with historical intrigue, leaving the audience in total suspense for what comes next.

I think

I finished watching all the episodes in one sitting. The conclusion I had in mind at the beginning changed at the end. I just don't understand some people, I'm thinking a lot of things right now. It's just hard to see how someone's light can be extinguished because of some stupid people. oh it's really bothering me .
At the beginning of the movie, I really thought the main character was mentally ill, but not. He probably just wanted to get justice, even though there are a lot of things going on there that I don't know about, but I don't regret his decision at all, and the journalist girl, that girl is really mysterious, why exactly can you see her spirit from high school? Did they have to choose the journalist girl? I thought they looked similar at first, but I guess not. Or maybe she has a special ability or maybe they just connected by moving into the same apartment? But life is really hard,

I had just finished a rewatch of the Chinese drama Filter and this was the first recommendation on MDL.

As much as I love chaotic couples, I only like it when the chaos does not include verbal abuse of any sort. Seo Yi Do called Min Ye Rin worthless in so many different words throughout the first arc of the drama, that I wanted to stop watching.
And it was a good thing, at least I got to see some happy times, the final arc was better.

In the beginning, it felt as if just as she was about to escape her toxic husband she met Seo Yi Do, who was a different kind of red flag on his own. She then fell in love with the said red flag. It is so difficult to describe the duality of Seo Yi Do's character, there are parts of him that I won't ever like, but by the end of the drama he had somewhat won me over and I was so glad for Jae Hee.

A Perfect Life, A Perfect Lie: The Most Satisfying Revenge Drama I’ve Seen

The moment this drama was announced and I saw the casting, I **knew** this was going to be a banger. No doubts. No hesitation. I waited forever to watch it, and finding subtitles felt like a full-time job 😭 but once I finally did… let me just say: this drama made me thirsty and then **overfed me**. If you know, you KNOW.

Plot*
The story follows Minori, a woman who truly believed she had the perfect life. She married her high school sweetheart, Yudai, and they have a son together. From the outside, everything looks stable, loving, and normal. That illusion completely shatters when Minori finds cryptic messages on her husband’s phone. Something feels off, so she decides to follow him. What she witnesses is beyond anything she could have imagined. Her husband meets up with a high school boy. Together, they go to a restaurant where they are joined by a woman. What Minori watches unfold is the perfect picture of a family celebrating the wife’s birthday. That’s how she discovers the truth: Her husband has been cheating on her for 15 years and He has a second family. Instead of confronting him right away, Minori decides to take revenge. She joins the cram school where the high school boy studies, posing as a teacher, determined to uncover everything about her husband’s other life.

Why This Drama Is Different

What makes this drama so clever is its structure. Usually, in revenge dramas, once the revenge is executed, the antagonists disappear and the story wraps up. Not here!
In this drama, we get four full episodes where the “bad guys” strike back. The roles reverse, and suddenly we’re watching Minori deal with the consequences of her own actions. The revenge doesn’t end it mutates.

It is SO hard for me to review this without spoilers because this is one of those dramas you *have* to experience blind. Every twist lands harder because you don’t see it coming.
Honestly?
This surpassed all my expectations. Hands down, one of the best Japanese revenge dramas I’ve ever watched. It gives proper closure to every character, and when it ended, all I wanted was amnesia so I could watch it again for the first time and relive that emotional rollercoaster.

Acting (aka: PERFECTION)

*Takezai Terunosuke* one of my all-time favorite actors, was incredible, as always. He is *so* good at playing morally questionable, unsettling characters. I love him every time, no matter how much I hate his role.

And * Matsumoto Marika* as Minori? Absolutely terrifying. Absolutely brilliant. Marika nails the female rage !
The facial expressions. The controlled madness. The way her anger simmers just beneath the surface. I was genuinely scared of her and I mean that as the highest compliment. She made Minori feel painfully real, and I lived every single emotion with her.

Please, do not miss this drama.
It’s intense, smart, unsettling, emotional, and deeply satisfying.
This one stays with you long after the credits roll.

The ghosts of the past

I'm not really sure if this is a recurring theme - and I don't really want to re-watch some of the last few parts to find out - but there seems to be some common connection between one part of MuTeLuv, and the part that came before it. In this case, it is - a love triangle adjacent and a lead who has some growing up to do.

Love Lock follows Phayu, who is constantly haunted by visions of his ex-girlfriend May after she broke up with him on their third anniversary. He believes the reason he's seeing her is because of an Ema plaque she dedicated to their love in Japan, and decides to go there to remove it from the shrine where she has tied it. Only problem? There are 90+ shrines, and one broken ankle, because as soon as he lands in Japan, he meets with an accident when Thai speaking Satsuki almost runs him over with her scooter. To make up for injuring him, she agrees to go around with him and help him find the Ema plaque, in exchange for him not reporting her to the police.

Love Lock is more about growth than it is about comedy or romance. And I really liked that about it. Yes it did have a few funny moments and was a story about romance, but the common link from the last part? It's a lead that needs some character development, and these four episodes follow his journey of realisation that he in fact does need some.

Bit by bit, we see Phayu recall his relationship with May as he searched for the elusive Ema plaque, and see just how he could have been a better boyfriend, and maybe just a better person. That is quite literally the entire story, with him moving on and gaining closure, and finding a new love interest, but it was quite heartfelt. I would not have minded if it had zero romance but I think I focused more upon Phayu and his journey than the romance so that may be why I feel that way.

As for the characters, even though we barely see much of her, May may have been my favourite. She was smart, kind and mature and she did make a great impression. Jamie played May very well and Kucci was also good as Satsuki. But I think I'm most impressed with Dew because Phayu was the character who carried this story, and he did so well. He's really grown as an actor and it was nice to see him in a more comedic role.

I really liked the major themes of this story, they were ones I always appreciate and they were done quite well in four episodes. The story was not the best, but the characters were likeable, the cinematography was really beautiful and it was, all in all, an enjoyable watch.

The first half of drama were fine but it went downhill afterward

I watched this last year because both actors are likable. You need to know the first scene about the Shower Kiss was that hot. Zhang Shan is one of great kisser in duanju. Sexual Tension between Yao Guanyu and Zhang Shan was there.

The first half of the drama was quite fine when FL wants to stay away from ML and ML tried to get her. The major turnoff was half of this drama until the end of drama, FL didn't have a backbone, she just followed her foster mother advice and ML was to scared to rebel from her mother. It was a snoozefest and dragged the same problem without any proper solution.

Was on verge of dropping this drama and i tried to watch with speed of 1.75x and it's not worth it.

Only for Hardcore fans.
