Wished there was more episodes

The School Trip After Story in this BL drama was EVERYTHING 😭🚌💞 Seeing them together after all the tension and slow burn felt so rewarding 🫶 The way they were more comfortable with each other, the soft smiles 😊, casual touches 🤍, and quiet romantic moments had me melting the whole time 🫠💘 It felt warm, natural, and full of love 💓 like we were watching their relationship grow in the sweetest way possible. This after story gave closure AND fed the fans 🥹✨ Truly the perfect gift for BL lovers — my heart is so full 😭💙

That ending was awful :')

What the heck were those last few episodes 😭 and whyyy was Anna at the wedding 🙃 Super unrealistic, and how on earth would the leads allow that truly 😆 Stuck it out when it started going downhill in hopes that there would be a satisfying ending, but man it was so rushed...I'm disappointed 🥲 This is a one and done for me, but I'm sad because I was pretty invested and thought the leads had good chemistry. I did get butterflies 🦋😂 but oof do not really recommend especially if you don't like several misunderstandings happening. I'm going to check out The Eternal Love by the same leads though!

A show that has a bit of something for everyone

Loving Strangers will always be compared to the original. For me, it was a show that started so well, dipped in the second half but finished with some of the most beautiful moments in any drama.

In short, the acting was superb. Mark Chao and Zhang Zi Feng were at their finest. In fact, Fi Zheng deserves an award for the portrayal of the most down trodden of all characters in drama history. Zhang Chao as Gu Chen was also very good - a despicable human being. Jiang Yi Yan as Yi Jun really carried her role well but perhaps the writing softened her too much.

Where it lost some of its shine was Jia Qi’s brother and uncle. They were fine enough but overbearing at times and did not have the depth of the Korean originals. The brother was over the top in his views. The uncle took too long to stop being a procrastinator. Yu Yu, the aspiring actress, and girlfriend of the brother, was terrific. She played the best drunk I have ever seen. It was a heartbreaking performance. Her redemption a pure delight.

It’s true the original had longer episodes of 16 episodes @ 1 hr 15 min or 20 hours as opposed to 28 episodes @ 45 minutes or 21 hours in terms of viewing output. The issue, with Loving Strangers, is that it seemed not as taught in the second half and the story over inflated. Also, some of the key character elements from My Mister regarding a couple of characters are missing.

This show was beautifully filmed. The writing lacked clarity at times but not when it came to the best performances. It was choppy at times and the soccer moments didn’t quite blend in.

If you haven’t seen My Mister, I think you will find this show is, despite its heartbreaking moments, a triumph. It’s just that for me, I was comparing it to the original, and I make no apology for that. It could have been great 😊

Can This Love Be Translated? Review - ZyKuu

"Love is a language that requires two interpreters" - The story is very unique and has no errors. As the series progressed, I found myself becoming fascinated by how the plot continuously thickened and the twists were revealing itself throughout. I found the relation between translator and actress to be very distinct. Although there was one plot twist that was unnecessary and diminished the total value of the script. The main leads Cha Mu-hee and Joo Ho-jin were absolutely phenomenal in their roles. Mu-hee illustrated the image of Do Ra-mi majestically and her ability to switch between both egos was otherworldly. She displayed her versatility as an actress at a high level and she deserves flowers for this performance. Ho-jin acting skills are remarkable and apart from nailing his role, he possessed the ability to speak multiple languages fluently. That in itself is should attest to the amount of work he had to put into this role. The romance between Mu-hee and Ho-jin was chefs kiss. Their relationship formed from an innocent gesture as a stranger which grew into a requited one sided love that eventually translated into a relationship. Hiro was my favourite cast member as I grew to love his character in the show. In addition, I found him to be the funniest through his acting ability and facial expressions. His dynamic with other members were also very unique and entertaining. Nanami, Kim Yong-u and Shin Ji-sun were the other key cast members that stood out for me in particular. The OST is absolutely amazing as there is so much variety from this project. This project was shot across three countries and it was executed beautifully. The sceneries and environments captured on screen were breathtaking and really inspire you to travel as well. This drama is everything and it is beautiful in every single way!

What we could've had.

I went into this show really excited. Saw some of the promo with the premise being about two guys rekindling and old love. HOW WRONG THAT WAS. Let me discuss the elephant in the room which is the STORYLINE. The main issue was stupid and a simple convo or even argument could have solved it. I get maybe akin being hurt but with how long they drew it out all it did was make both of them look like pushovers. Because for akin he raise the man he thought cheated on him kid to let him have a better future 🤦‍♀️. Not even that continued to engage with him when they re met and gave no reason as to why he was so mad at him. This could have been a good plot if they had the conflict for a few ep then made the rest about them navigating the after and trying to rekindle.

Now I'll get into the reasoning for me dropping. After 4/5 ep of the main cp drama i completely gave up because it was obvious they were pointing to the Mawin not being Thans. I really enjoyed the second couple. Their plot was interesting and I quite enjoyed their chemistry. I will say the who change from casual to bf's was not that well discussed but overall they were fun and fresh air from the mains. Then ep 8. When they had to ruin what was good with whatever that was. Killing him off threw me off the show completely. I had no desire to continue after that even with people saying their may be a fake death plot. Because that alone would have been stupid.

Side note:
I did end up skimming the last two ep and I am glad I choose to drop. It was nothing if not in the same fashion as the rest of the show.

the best series so far, and deep spoiler alert!

Wabi Sabi really doesnt disappoint when it comes to the heartbreaking and tear-jerking story plot.

I love how the actors portrayed Typhoon and Tonfah characters. It's like they really came out of the novel (yes, I read the novel). The chemistry between them is really top-notch. Every time they look at each other, you can feel the yearning without them saying a single word (it's so rare to have actors that can act by using the eyes only). But what I really love about this series is that it shows the importance of acceptance and putting yourself first, especially in loving yourself. even the friendship is a chef's kiss!

It's about this innocent Cutie Patottie camera lover and love letter, Typhoon (character's name), who is his asshole womanizer, not suited to becoming a parent father abused him his entire childhood and now blamed him for everything and the death of his sister so because of this, he developed a deep-rooted trauma and his nyctophobia. He got reunited after 3 years of no-contact separation with childhood friend (and crush) Tonfah (character's name), the nerd, and a wolf in sheep's clothing. So, when the good-for-nothing father found out that typhoon had gone after Tonfah, he forbade and manipulated him again to not meet Tonfah ever again because the father was afraid his secrets would come out. Then typhoon, the ever, so innocent, chose his father's manipulation, which left Tonfah questioning himself about why the child ignoring him when he did his best to take care and spent his time tutoring his not so-"little brother" and even losing his self-confidence. This is when the story really starts.

So overall, after watching the entire 8 episodes, dare I say this is the best series I've watched so far. While watching, I was crying, laughing, stressing, shouting, then crying and laughing again. The couple is the fluffiest pair in fourever you parallel, and I love it. Even though there's some important parts from the novel that they did not put or follow regardless, they still nailed it. Kudos to the team that made this adaptation beautiful.

The ost, both the Thai and Japanese ones, are a 10/10.

Green flag ML, bad ass FL and a satisfying end

One of my favourite couples. Like a warm up of soup on a cold day. Ive yapped about this show so much to anyone who happens to be in my life and Im not sorry. Great cast, well executed. The weakness is the first 5 eps. I had to talk my Dad into continuing because the college backstory is so different to the main storyline. He did and enjoyed it (ha told you so)

Reliable consistent fun with great leads

In the last 12 months a lot of kdramas suffered with incontinencey this isnt 10/10 but it is consistent and has two wonderful compelling leads. The FL has a singing career but Im left wondering why we haven't seen more from the ML he clearly has the charisma and ability. This show has heart and as a fangirl I respect the way it showed the best and the worst of parasocial relationships.

Most Underrated Drama of 2025

If you have not seen this drama, you are definitely missing out!!! I have watched this drama twice already!!
The three females (including the doc) gave 5 start performances. The same goes for the three male actors!! I WISH there could somehow be a spinoff (like Yanxi palace adventures) focusing on the Xia Meng and Qin Tian.

An excellent drama!

A top drama not to be missed. Treat yourself to this rare gem. The storyline is interesting, no tropes, with top notch acting. The male lead is eye candy, for sure. The plot will hold your interest as a murder mystery is unraveled and you’ll enjoy the love story that develops. It covers corruption in government prosecutions, the harsh realities of celebrity life and the corporate domination over the lives of performers in the music industry. It deserves its high ratings. There’s a lot to digest in the 12 episodes that keeps the story interesting and moving along.

She was his Sunshine and He was her's.

Shine on me is a slow burn drama.

Maimai and Weilong were cute together.
The second lead appears the msot in the first few epsidoes. I was frustrated with with in the first few episodes but as the story went forth I felt bad for him. But again, he was responsible for whatever he did. And then our male lead is a whole green forest.
Your standards are going to raise. My god SONG WEI LONG the man he is. He kille dme with his smiles.
And i think the story had a different way of presentation. So initially few episode its just the second lead and then the male leads office meet ups (while he secretly likes her). He only decides to pursue her /court her after episode 10. So you need to wait a lot with patience. But while he was courting her it felt like they were actually dating but it was just not official.
And confession only comes in ep 24.
But but but but its worth it. Its worth it.
Its cute. Just watch it with patience. Dont give up mid way.

Cons for me.
•It is draggy. The sking trip they had lasted for ages i felt.
•They kept shifting from time to time. And dint pick where they left.
• The ending was good but draggy again.
• I think 25 to 30 episodes were enough for thsi drama. They just extended it a lot .

So good drama. Good vibe.
Speaking mention is the " You are the sun in my life" ost and 'Raindrop' an english ost.
They added a speacial mood to the scenes

A story that is cliche but yet brings out a new shade.

(Short- fast reading review)

So, Love between lines was my awaited drama. I was so happy when it finaly started airing. Its been days since i finished it and only now i came to write a review.
Its a good story. The visuals are amazing.
The plot that they meet in the muder mystery game and in real life -first has tenants and then as subordinates at work is cliched but nevertheless sweet.
This drama had the most amazing cinematography.
The visuals were amazing.
The music was amazing.
Its got funny stuffs in between as well. Ofc the family story is bit boring and repetitive but LU YU XIAO and XINGXU arent. I could watch them all day.
My god... they look so good together.
I want to watch morenof their drama.

So, finally
Short and simple review: WATCH IT. YOU'LL FEEL AT EASE DOING SO. ITS WORTH IT.

Its so bad its funny

We laughed so hard we almost cried. We probably should have cried. Why did we watch it? You know the expression watching a car crash in slow motion and not being able to look away... that's what just happened. I deeply concerned that someone who has never watched BL will see this and think this is normal. Its something else. But credit where credit is due it was a memorable experience and gave us something to talk about. Now if only I could forget.

Disappointed

This, to me, was life-changingly bad. I'm so sorry. I really, really wanted to like it. The best part of the show were the kids and the side-couple (who were done so dirty. like come on). This show definitely had potential but the writing fucked up. This show ain't for everybody cause i know a few people who do like it, but it just wasn’t for me.

You will not regret watching this Drama❣️

From team productions, visuals, plot twists, and characters portraying everything is very excellent. Especially Bailu and Wangxingyue they match very well. And it's only 8 episodes, how much more the upcoming ones. The cases and mysteries they're going to solve are getting intense and difficult. Although I'm hoping for a happy ending but the most important for me is for Bailu to find justice for her family at the end.
