Amazing!! Bellissimo!
The angst, the yearning, the cinematography, the visuals, the chemistry, the slow burn???It was so unpredictable and different which I loved especially the complexity of thecharacters. I stayed up all night to binge watch it, it really surprised me because I thought it was going to be one of those regular romcom but it's honestly one of the best kdrama I've ever seen!!! I related so much with avoidant
attachment and understands Chu Mu hee
character so well. Honestly seeing the hate CTLBT is receiving is honestly so sad because i absolutely enjoyed it and it honestly took me out of my kdrama slump. But I wish we could've gotten more of their dating era. My new obsession, I'm going to binge watch it again 😆

A refreshing and an origial series
What I liked the most about this series that it captured the magic of new meetings beautifully, specially abroad. ✨✈️It had me smiling like an idiot throughout my watch. 🤭
It wasn't boring at all, in contrast, it had a lot of things going on at the same time and then surprises you at the end when you think you've figured it all out.
The acting was superior and don't get me started on the cinematography that captured all the scenes artistically. Every scene felt like a potential background.
☺️💕
It has been a long time since I have last seen a relatable female character who has or had at the beginning of the series relatable flaws. Talking too much nonsense in an awkward situation, for example.
And the ML character as well when he sometimes finds her overwhelming and makes an effort to understand her.
These all made the show more enjoyable.
What I didn't particularly like was the continuous loop of conflict. Once they resolve something another thing pops up.
Like give them a break!🙄
Plus, I constantly had the feeling of it being a plot inside another plot which made it heavy sometimes.
And lastly, the ending felt rushed somehow.
It left me with a lot of questions and didn't like the jump in time either.
Other than that, it was a refreshing story with comforting scenes that captures the eyes and hearts of the watchers.
Totally Recommended! 👍✨

Can This Be Two Different Movies?
I did not find this poetic or beautiful. I had so many what the hell is happening moments. I feel like these were two competing stories that shouldn’t have to have compete. I’m glad it spoke to other people. It was lost in translation for me.The casting was great. I really feel like this did a disservice to their talent. I wanted to drop this halfway through, but I’m not a quitter and needed to see it through.
I wanted to like this so much, but sadly did not. I don’t want to yuck somebody’s yum because it seems like there were people who really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I did not.

Love Not the Same Stamp for Everyone!
Well, done! Bravo! Bellissimo!I think if everyone goes in with the mindset of your "typical" romance that is your first mistake, which I believe we all did. Once you get past the first few episodes in everyone's mind, "WTH am I watching? This makes no sense." Right? Come on, you all know you did because I felt that way after episode 8. I'll admit it.
Something eventually "clicked" after really listening and paying attention to what was trying to be "translated" after that episode to me as the viewer.
The translation of love between them was not your "typical" love or love story. Fate brought them together as strangers. Then to eventually lovers. But all the baggage that they both had to decompartmentalize especially CMH, she had to do on her own. He had taken her far enough.
Chance meeting, fate, call it what you like but they figured out their translation to love.
Love does not have the same stamp for everyone; this drama certainly taught us that.

I especially loved how the main characters, particularly the female lead, were written and framed. It was easy to empathize with her and feel what she was going through. I love that the story isn’t just about finding love, but about finding solace and understanding in another person. It reminds us that no matter how many languages you know, learning to understand just one person’s language can make everything shine in a different light.
If you’re looking for a sign to watch this drama, this is it. The chemistry between the main couple is incredibly swoon-worthy even with it being a slow burn.

A K-Drama that felt like it was made for me.
First of all, such a good cast. The roles for Kim Seon-Ho, Go Youn-Jung, and Sota Fukushi feel perfect. One of the things I loved about this series was the beautiful countries and the overall languages. For me, I'm really into learning languages, and curious about the job interpreter. I could say this K-drama was heavily for me. The visuals felt like I'm actually traveling with them. The aesthetics of Japan, Canada, and Italy differed from one another, mirroring the unique and evolving relationships between Ju Ho-Jin and Cha Mu-Hee in each country. Hiro was such a funny character to me, starting from him hating Mu-Hee but changing over time. What was confusing for me was the Do Ra-Mi plot, and the ending felt rushed. It could be 13 episodes but it's not a big deal. I would have finished this series much faster if I didn't have to study all the time TvTWas this review helpful to you?
Storyline felt like a shawarma with too many topings, but in a good way
The scenery was nice, same with the editing, the colorgrading and how they played around with perspectives.I knew it'd be a hit the moment Kim Seon-ho was revealed to be the love interest (seriously, this guy's eyes are absolutely mesmerising, and don't even get me started on the dimples). It's the first time I've seen Go Youn-jung, but her performances couldnt let me rip my eyes away from the screen. Her duality was insane, but it didn't feel forced and both characters felt like their own person, despite essentially being the same person.
The premise is interesting.. especially for the second plotline.
As for the cons: I feel like they tried to add a lot of information and ended up going on a tangent with the main storyline at some point in Italy and a bit after. Still, to some degree it felt natural, so not too bad.
Definitely worth watching!

PEAK WRITING
This drama has such peak writing OMG (HUGE SPOILERS AHEAD)The first episode set everything up so well, I love how the characters were immediately put into a situation where they had to interact and find out things about each other that they would rather hide, it was already hella romantic how they basically went on a date together and the way they parted foreshadowed the problems that they would continue to encounter in their relationship. Obviously this has been done cpuntlessly before but what hasn't been done before? It's about the execution and how you do it, and for me, it didn't feel like the clichés were just being repeated mindlessly. The awkward moments felt genuinely awkward but you can tell it was done intentionally and that's what the writing for the entire show felt like, everything felt intentional and purposeful. I loved howthe development of the plot felt so natural, they didn't feel forced like "oh what? you're here? haha" it genuinely felt like a situation that could happen. The clichés felt used very intentionally and with great care rather than being forced into a scene just to drive the plot. For example, her kissing him next to the "waterfall", it didn't feel like "oh let's have them kiss here" it instead felt like they were naturally in a situation where the atmosphere could've developed in such a way that she ends up kissing him. Even in the scene where she turns off the lamp and he gets closer to her, they could've easily just had them kiss or something but they knew it wasn't the right time.
Also, I want to point out just how real the characters felt, Hiro didn't feel like some Japanese actor guy that was put in to drive the plot and to just end up rejected, he felt like a real person who ended up being interested in Mu Hee because he found her strange at first but then realised the beauty of her soul. Ji Seon didn't feel like just the girl that Ho Jin had liked but she felt like she was her own person, even her ex-fiancé didn't feel like just some one dimensional bad guy.
And omg the last few episodes, Hong sisters are so fucking crazy for having resolved everything and I mean EVERYTHING, like there was so much I had forgotten about that I would'nt have thought about at all if they just moved on and focused on the main couple being lovey-dovey, etc. but noooo they were like "oh yeah Hiro? they're going to have a proper conversation and closure, we're going to show how he's matured too, oh her toxic uncle and aunt? we're going to show exactly why they didn't want to have a relationship with her but we're also going to show how they're also people at the end of the day and they even helped Mu Hee find her mother, oh Ji Seon? her and Ho Jin will have a two hour convo about everything that happened while on a train, oh Yong Woo? they're going to have a thorough convo and she's going to go with him to Europe to study and they're eventually going to get engaged" Like HUUUHHH?? that's such peak writing and also really fucking difficult to get right, having to resolve all those plotlines properly without making it feel like it was done carelessly. It felt like a piece of classical music that takes you on this wonderful journey and then completely and satisfyingly resolves everything in the end.
The Hong sisters really went all out on this. Mu Hee rising to fame while in a coma, her seeing hallucinations not just being a way to portray her Jungian shadow but to show that she's got DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) which we thought was Do Ra Mi but was actually her mother. The writers definitely did their research on psychology for this and it shows. That's what good writers do, they can make a really interesting premise and also execute it flawlessly.
And omg THE PICTURE?? WHO TF IS THE DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY?? AND WHO ARE THE STYLISTS?? The scenes were soooo pretty not just because of the natural beauty of the place but how they were lit and shot. The characters were always dressed in clothes that complimented them and went super well with the background. So many scenes felt sooo picturesque and ideal. They must've been either blessed with the perfect conditions or they planned really well or both.
10/10 would love to forget everything so that I can experience this show once again.

Love does need translating!
This drama caught me by surprise. I like both the leads individually so I watched this upon release but without much expectation (I've been having a romantic comedy slump and have been unable to finish or connect with any recent releases of the genre), but I binged this drama over the weekend. It's thoughtful and poignant, though I get that if people come into it expecting a typical romcom they might be disappointed. Because it's not that. To me it's beautiful though — navigating mental health, personal traumas, healing, and understanding different languages of love. The leads nailed their roles and they will have you feeling terribly single with their chemistry and interactions. I do think there are some unnecessary bits, especially towards the end, hence it's not really a perfect 10 to me. I would definitely rewatch and recommend, though. Was this review helpful to you?

I pressed play and now I’m mentally buffering
I’m not exaggerating when I say after finishing Can This Love Be Translated?, I just… stared into space. Zoned out. Empty. Emotionally vacant. You know that post-drama void where your soul hasn’t caught up yet? Yeah. That one. This drama is genuinely so good. Not perfect, but wow—it hits. First of all, the production??? Beautiful. Clean. Expensive-looking. And the casting??? INSANE. Go Youn Jung and Kim Seon Ho fit Cha Mu Hee and Ju Ho Jin like they were custom-made for these roles. I especially loved their acting, both of them are crazy good at microexpressions. Like, half the emotions are in their eyes, their pauses, the way they breathe before speaking. No overacting, just vibes and pain. The first half of the drama had me LOCKED IN. From episode one, I was curious, invested, and fully seated. And that says a lot because lately I’ve been so bored with dramas, I drop them left and right. But this one? Nope. Had my full attention. The story is about Cha Mu Hee, an unknown actress who travels to Japan and somehow ends up meeting Ju Ho Jin, an interpreter assigned to help her. From there, their lives get slowly but messily entangled. I won’t lie, the writing isn’t always tight. Sometimes it feels a bit loose, and there were moments where I was like, “Wait… did I miss something or is the translation just bad?” There are SO many misunderstandings and miscommunications (like sir please just TALK). I was honestly thankful all 12 episodes dropped at once, because if this was weekly, I would’ve been confused and annoyed fr.
Ju Ho Jin though??? Green flag. Green forest. Photosynthesis level green. He’s rich rich, old-money rich, but somehow still kind, gentle, and emotionally respectful. At first, he comes off avoidant—classic guy who ran away from his first love and never confessed. But when he falls for Mu Hee, even while confused, he never plays with her feelings. I loved how he accepts all of her past, gives her space, and lets her heal instead of trying to “fix” her. We love a SECURE man. Cha Mu Hee is lively, bubbly, and ridiculously pretty, but emotionally shattered inside. She wants love so badly, but the moment she gets it, she’s terrified it’ll disappear. Very real. Very “ouch that’s me.” Her fear shows up as her alter ego, Do Ra Mi, whenever she wants to run. Do Ra Mi is bold, free, outspoken, everything Mu Hee wishes she could be. She’s basically Mu Hee’s inner voice with courage unlocked. Honestly, Do Ra Mi felt like Mu Hee’s interpreter, the one who understands what Mu Hee can’t say out loud. Her confession to Ju Ho Jin? Brave as hell.
BUT. This is where I started feeling kinda mad. When the drama revealed that Do Ra Mi is actually Mu Hee’s mother… yeah, that didn’t sit right with me. I feel like sometimes we don’t need answers spoon-fed to us. The alter ego worked so well as a symbolic thing... something deep inside Mu Hee. Making it literal lowkey ruined the emotional build-up. And don’t even get me started on the parents. Finding out both of Mu Hee’s parents are alive and NEVER tried to find her after the accident that traumatized her for life??? That’s actually insane. So cruel. And the drama just kind of… moved on from that??? I hated that. Also, considering how close this story is to psychological trauma, I wish there were more professional perspectives. I know it’s not the main focus, but when you’re dealing with dissociation and deep trauma, a little grounding from professionals wouldn’t hurt. The second male lead, Hiro, surprised me a lot. At first he’s childish and annoying, but his character development goes crazy. Watching him slowly fall for Mu Hee was sad in a quiet way, especially with the language barrier. Him learning Korean just to talk to her directly??? Pain. Even though we all knew he’d get rejected, it still hurt.
Now let’s talk visuals. Because WOW. The scenery is insane. Canada, Italy, Japan I was ready to book flights I CAN'T afford. Every shot is gorgeous. The OSTs too??? Finally some music that actually sticks. Lately, K-drama OSTs have been so bland and forgettable, but this one? No. The songs linger. Costumes, settings, cinematography, everything ATE. And honestly? What I loved most is how natural this drama feels. I’ve been so tired of childhood connections and fate-overload theories in K-dramas. I just want strangers meeting, traveling, and falling in love naturally. And this drama DELIVERED.
At its core, Can This Love Be Translated? is really about language. Everyone speaks differently. Sometimes we don’t even understand what we’re trying to say ourselves. Translating feelings is exhausting. This drama made me hope that one day, we’ll find someone who speaks our language, so we don’t have to spend a lifetime translating our soul.
