This drama had so much potential
I really wanted to like this drama more and it had so much potential to be great, but for me it fell short. The story never fully developes and the reasons the male lead had for not getting together early on was kind of ridiculous! This could have been a classic, but instead it was a bit of a struggle to finish. There were too many moments when I would shake my head for their reasoning ti not get together. It just didn't make sense! Really great locations, shooting in Canada and Italy with high production values, but that wasn't enough because after all... its all about the story!

A melo-drama masterpiece with deep meaning
Joo Ha-jin and Cha Moo-hee are, at their core, the same kind of person—one conceals fragility behind madness, the other masks avoidant panic with logic and calm. Although Ha-jin can translate multiple languages, understanding Moo-hee’s heart proves far more difficult. What may appear to some viewers as repeated misunderstandings or emotional distance is, in fact, a deliberate exploration of Moo-hee’s coping mechanisms—her tendency to test love through withdrawal and self-sabotage. Her inner conflict reflects a constant struggle between reason and desire, fear and longing.
Through this dynamic, the drama gradually reveals how emotional walls are built and, more importantly, how they can be approached with patience rather than correction. Ha-jin’s journey with the support of Do Ra-mi becomes one of learning empathy, emotional presence, and acceptance, leading to one of the most compelling portrayals of mutual healing in recent melodrama.
Thought-provoking, emotionally resonant, and deeply satisfying, this is an ideal watch for viewers seeking a meaningful and rewarding weekend drama.

Stunning Louise!!!
********** ( ^ ^ )***************The Story
this narrative is very unique because it dives into a life of a multilingual translator, this right here is already unique
how many series in asia focus on multilingual translator as the main lead,
Please guess
.
.
.
.
That's right almost none, I know bilingual we have either chinese/korean or Japanese/Korean or English/Korean (most)
but Kor/IT/FR/Eng/Chi/JP, I think this is the first time
the life of a translator is pretty difficult but sometimes very rewarding just like our main male lead
what are the chances, 0.000001% this coincidence can happen in real life, the reward is the male lead gets to meet his future partner. , a very unique story and that alone says a lot,
NOT UNTIL, after the climax which is Lake Louise,
goodness gracious that first 8 episode alone can be the whole series.
after Lake Louise
the story looks like a spin off of the first 8 episode,
CASTING
casting is good, nothing i can say about the casting , the hong sisters knows who to cast
if the first male lead choice of hong sisters was cast and played the role, i don't think think it fits Ju Ho Jin role and I don't think it will spark any chemistry with Go Youn Jung,
MUSIC
I don't want to talk about this because it's decent but it felt like we are missing something
WOULD WE REWATCH
Yes for the first 8 epsiode
Overall - its a good series
if you are into travel series just like me with a little bit of love for the scenery and landscape,
this series is for you,
if you are a fan of Kim Seo Ho and Go Youn Jung, this is for you
Luckily I am both but i cannot stand that the music felt missing on this series

A solid watch. I definitely recommend
I just finished Can This Love Be Translated?, and yeah, this is a solid 9/10 for me.I’m gonna be real for a second, a lot of the complaints I’ve seen about this drama feel incredibly surface-level. It’s like people walked in expecting a light, spoon-fed romcom and got frustrated when the show asked them to actually sit with its pacing and read between the lines. Not everything is meant to be loud, fast, and immediately gratifying, and this drama definitely isn’t trying to be that.
The pacing? I actually thought it was great. It takes its time, but in a way that lets the emotions settle and the characters feel real instead of rushed. If anything, I wish it had more time. 12 episodes felt a little too short for what it was trying to do. This easily could’ve stretched into 14 or even 16 episodes if they wanted to explore certain moments more deeply.
And the chemistry? Yeah… undeniable. Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung absolutely carried. Their performances weren’t over-the-top; they were controlled and subtle, and honestly more impactful because of it. You could feel everything in the pauses, the glances, the silence.
Also, calling this just a romcom feels… wrong. The Hong Sisters didn’t just write a fluffy romance; they built something way more layered. There’s this really delicate balance between romcom and melodrama, with just a hint of tension running underneath the whole time. It’s soft, but it cuts when it needs to.
At the end of the day, this drama isn’t about big, obvious moments; it’s about nuance. About miscommunication, emotional distance, and the way people try (and fail) to understand each other. If you’re not paying attention, yeah, it might feel slow or underwhelming. But if you are? It hits.

beautiful ?
Too beautiful everything recommended to see it they have a spectacular chemistry between both actors that if they have to understand what the series is about because it is psychological but it is definitely beautiful the landscapes are too beautiful not to say spectacular the secondary actor very good story. How they handled the language very good script, the good thing is that the mother's problem was not made wide after that the romance of the secondary was very fast and they did not develop the story well but from there everything else the romance the music was beautiful everything performed a 1-day marathon to see her laugh and cryWas this review helpful to you?

A difficult topic handled lightly — or maybe a bit too lightly?
When I started this series, I was expecting something completely different: a calm rom-com with pretty scenery. And, to be fair, I did get that — partially. But the writers decided to throw in a little “bonus” in the form of ... Spoiler alert!... serious mental health issues.
In general, I think addressing such topics is a good thing and helps break taboos around them. However, in this series it all felt far too light. The female lead doesn’t struggle with minor issues that can be magically cured by love and emotional support — she has a personality disorder. Multiple personality disorder is not something that just goes away.
I understand the idea of destigmatizing mental illness, but one visit to a psychiatrist does not solve everything. The heroine says that, following the Japanese psychiatrist’s advice, she continued treatment, had an MRI, talked to a doctor… and was basically told that nothing can be done and she just has to live with it. Did I understand that correctly? No treatment, just deal with it?
Another issue appears in episode 6 — a conversation between the leads that I honestly didn’t understand. Why do they break up despite mutual confessions of love? Overall, the chemistry between them is great, the male lead is adorable, and the female lead is stunning — her beauty and acting already captivated me in Alchemy of Souls. The characters themselves are great, but the story sometimes simply doesn’t make sense.
The ending is also… strange.
All in all, I’m a bit disappointed. Instead of the rom-com I was waiting for, I got something closer to It’s Okay to Not Be Okay. Some of the heroine’s behaviors are genuinely dangerous (like giving sleeping pills), and nothing is done about it — which I found confusing.
On the plus side: as mentioned before, the acting of both main and supporting characters is very good, and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.

4 leaf clover
Wow. I just finished binging this drama in 2 days. The production was amazing.
Especially the cinematography!!!
I'm from Alberta, and Calgary and Banff are an hour and a half drive from the city, so the representation of Canada in this drama is realistic.
If any reader finds the scenery beautiful, I would definitely suggest visiting Calgary as your next travel destination.
We are cheaper than the US. We are kinder and more respectful. Hehe.
Anyway, the drama itself is WONDERFUL.
I love the story. Their first encounter. And how the story went smoothly.
Those little moments of jealousy. Us, viewers, noticing when he is falling for her... and all the little things he does that make him so wholehearted.
The confusing part for me is Do Ra Mi's part. It was explained, but I guess my brain is not processing it.
Hiro as the second lead is so CUTE HAHA.
I love his character, from a hater of MunHee to actually falling for her.
I just love everything about this drama.
Kim SeonHo with his four languages and his accents ARE ♡
YounJung portraying two characters is giving the DEAR X drama.
I've been a fan of YounJung since ALCHEMY OF THE SOUL SEASON 1. She may not be the main character, but the way she demonstrated her character is just jaw-dropping.
Ever since, I've been looking forward to her future roles.
And I'm proud of her work in this drama.
She definitely deserves all the recognition.
Truly proud of my unnie!
To my SEONHO, I AM PROUD OF YOU AS WELL.
From 2 Days and 1 Night to becoming a successful actor, all your struggles and hard work have paid off.
Proud of you, Jagiya!!♤♡♡
This drama definitely deserves awards!

Drama Review: Can This Love Be Translated?
Can This Love Be Translated? presents a unique storyline by highlighting the profession of a translator, a role that is rarely explored in dramas. This fresh concept makes the story stand out from typical romantic series. The drama offers an engaging and well-paced narrative, combining light romance with emotional moments that keep viewers interested without feeling overwhelming.
One of the biggest strengths of the drama is Kim Seon Ho’s acting. He delivers a natural and heartfelt performance, showing the same charm that audiences loved in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Start-Up. His portrayal adds depth and warmth to the character, making the story even more enjoyable.
Overall, Can This Love Be Translated? is a recommended watch for viewers who are looking for a romance drama with a fresh perspective and strong acting performances.

great love story
i loved the premise, the cast, the story itself but i felt like it dragged on a bit too long in the latter half. imo it would have worked better as 10 episodes and trim out some unnecessary short lived plot points / repeated scenes. i also found do ra-mi a bit jarring at the end there and wished her parts were somewhat reduced although i do understand that it served the narrative. but overall its still a great and enjoyable watchWas this review helpful to you?

✨ K-DREAMER’S CUT: Can This Love Be Translated? / The Consecration of Go Youn-Jung
[Overall Rating: ⭐ 8.0/10]⚡ THE HOOK (In a nutshell)
"Both in languages and love, everything is simpler when you try to understand and comprehend the idiosyncrasies that define them"
🔋 BINGE-WATCH LEVEL
[🔋🔋🔋🔋🔋] — The banter between a top actress and a multilingual translator is peak Rom-Com gold. You won't want to hit pause.
🔥 CHEMISTRY CHECK
[5/5 Sparks] — Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung are a visual explosion. Their comedic timing makes the "slow burn" feel like a wildfire.
🚩 THE RED FLAG
"Classic Hong Sisters tropes: expect some 'misunderstanding' fillers in the middle episodes that might test your patience."

📓 THE DEEP DIVE (kdreamer’s Analysis)
What makes this drama stand out in the crowded Rom-Com genre is the clever use of language as a barrier and a bridge. Watching Kim Seon-ho play a genius translator who ironically struggles to interpret the "love language" of a superstar is both hilarious and heartwarming. The writing is witty, and the international setting adds a fresh, cinematic layer that we don't always get in standard K-dramas.
Go Youn-jung shines as the 'unreachable' star, bringing a mix of vulnerability and sass that balances the male lead's more grounded character. While the plot follows some familiar "celebrity meets commoner" beats, the cultural nuances and the high-quality production make it feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s a love letter to communication—and the lack of it.
The ease with which the drama manages to be original, even while following tropes seen in many others, is what makes it truly special.
And we have to talk about the OST, because it is absolutely top-tier. Usually, a soundtrack just supports the scene, but here, the music feels like a third lead character.
SPOILER METRICS
To be honest, I walked into this expecting a "scenic trap"—a drama relying on a star-studded cast and dreamlike landscapes just to guarantee ratings. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
We all know Kim Seon-ho’s legendary commitment. Seeing him master multiple languages for this role is no surprise; he’s an actor who "eats" his roles, often overshadowing everyone else (who could forget the Start-Up syndrome?). However, for the first time ever, I felt he met his match. In fact, he might have been slightly eclipsed.
Go Youn-jung delivers a precision performance I’ve never seen from her before. Playing two characters is a challenge, but her execution is sublime. From the start, she weaves subtle shared gestures between both roles—nothing is accidental. As the episodes progress, she draws a perfect circle: Do Ra-Mi and Mu-Hee start as opposites, drift apart in episode 7, only to slowly converge in a way that feels incredibly organic. Watching this transformation was simply breathtaking.
I’m genuinely fascinated by her growth. This isn't just a popular actress in a pretty setting; this is a masterclass in character evolution.
P.S. I can’t close this review without mentioning something that’s been living rent-free in my head… am I the only one who thinks Go Youn-jung could be Kim Ji-won’s long-lost twin?! The resemblance is uncanny!
