ex-lovers and rivals in an immortal fight ?

finished 9/10 🌟

For me, a Bailu drama equals drama, angst, a good dose of kissing, and stabbing 🤭
But seriously, I have to say that overall, I really liked the drama.
In terms of special effects, acting and scenery, they were a 10/10 🫶
As for chemistry, I can only say that it achieved its purpose 🔥
Both Joseph and Bailu gave us a couple of ex-lovers + rivals worthy of mentioning with a background that exceded my expectations which in itself were not many 👏
I think what I liked least was the script and how it was approached.
There were some very boring secondary plots, I would have liked some characters to have had more importance than others
I had to watch many scenes in x2 because of the annoyance I felt watching them 😬
The ending was much better than I imagined 😅
They managed to turn it around and make it not seem so forced, which had me somewhat worried
Maybe the cuts took their toll on some things, but I'm not complaining that much ✨

Lacklustre script with an extremely slow and boring start with most of the episodes being subpar.

This show looked promising from the trailers, so me and my friends took the plunge on this. (This is probably my first time watching any show without waiting for it to complete airing)
AND is also the first show I've found to be severely lacking in direction. It's an extremely slow start from episode 1 to 9-12-ish. It took a total of about 10-11 episodes for us to get an idea what the hell was going on and the direction of the show.

From there, there's only about 1 episode which we found to be keeping our asses at the edge of our seats and we thought to ourselves that it's only going to get better from here. But HELL no. Right after that 1 episode (which I think was episode 11 or 12), the direction of the show goes back to that slow start and from episode 13 onwards, it seems to be repeating whatever happened in the initial episodes. E.g Main character backstabs another main character and this continues towards the last few episodes of this show. The romance in this show was nearly non-existence since everyone's fighting "in the name of dark love".

To summarize. this show disappointed us, if not for the 2x fast forward/speed up button, we wouldn't have made it through. Some of my friends were interested in the FL (we agree she looks f-ing cute) and the ML. We all agree, if not for them we wouldn't have made it through the entire show. Unfortunately good casting, is unable to save a show with a boring script. If you're in it for looks of the actress or the actor, check this show out, but now that I've watched this show, I can't recommend it. I will probably forget what this show is about after 1-2 weeks as it is not memorable. Will check out the FL's other shows.

Way of Storytelling kills dynamic Flow

The idea of FEUD might be interesting - the way the story is told isn't.

Everytime when the setting develops some thrill and dynamic, it's interrupted by a time swap, e.g. to the boring daily life in the mortal world.

Another weakness of FEUD is that a great actress Bai Lu is paired with a male actor that's good in playing a little kid's mind (last episodes) but fails in playing a divine being.

Overall this drama was disappointing and the weakest Chinese fantasy I've seen so far.

Lives up to it's name

The show gives you exactly what it is titled - a feud and it comes with several twists and turns! I enjoyed the pacing of most episodes and the story was captivating. I watched for Bai Lu and what a great job she did in this! In fact, Feud is fu.l of very strong female charactefs which is wonderful to see.

Although there are few points which I felt were plot holes, it was quite entertaining to watch. I loved the fights and special effects. The side characters have also portrayed their characters exceptionally.

The theme song is quite peaceful. The sets and costume designs are excellent.

Feud is fun and binge-worthy!

Feud is beyond disappointing, it's an abusive, toxic, repetitive, recycled trash!

"The Goods"
Pretty faces (Of course not the dude with the white hair, though my sister loves him)
Sound & Color Grading

"The Trash"
Plot that loops over and over and over again. He betrays her, she stabs him, she pretends to love him, she stabs him again, rinse and repeat till the end where they make peace.
Abusive spouse (Both spouse/main characters use violence against the other)
They expect us to believe one of the main character was simply pretending to be a reincarnate/different person without any visual depiction. The reveal and the explanation were from multiple characters talking about it.
Entire factions/organizations/cult going to war against one another, because of the main couple's love spat. Imagine Country A and Country B nuking each other because their presidents who were husband and wife had a fall out.

Do I recommend this trash? Yes if you've just taken a dump and need to clear out some trash. But in all seriousness, this show is just plain bad with such a basic amateur concept stretched out into 32 freaking episodes! It's just lazy writing or they are doing this for a quick payday. The fact that someone greenlit this atrocious script is appalling! It's of an intern-level scriptwriter's work. I paid for the subscriptions, give us better quality shows for our money!

Epic Love Story of Yin And Yang: Love Conquers All

The plot is so good and you cannot expect everything that happens and the amazing thing here is the story mainly revolves around the main couple which is rare in cdrama land. I won't share any more because I want you to watch the whole series but I just want to share my thoughts on the little GODDESS:

Warning: Some Spoilers, Read at your Own Risk.

The goddess of time, is not just the goddess of time (atleast for me) I believe she is the karma or likely the creator herself. She could also be the tribulation goddess for whats it worth, her little screentime speak so much details for me. I know a lot of people have been hating the Heavenly Realm because none of them were helping, but if you really understood: ALL OF THESE WERE THE TRIBULATION OF HRY AND BJS, those two are the protectors of the three realms, both existing and dying, if the other exist so does the other one. They live as long as the sun and moon or as the universe. The heavenly realm knew it wouldnt do any good if they interfere since they all have their obligations and honestly they are not that important in the plot because its all about the FEUD of the two most poweful gods in the three realms, if you realize, the two SHOULDNT HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE IN THE FIRST PLACE, But BJS broke that divinity and fell in love with HRY, although HRY fell in love at first sight, she did not know love at first or what exaclty love is, until they descended. Thats why the heavenly realm and the goddess of time is implying to us or showing us the tribulation and the epic love story of HRY and BJS. They are the manifestation of YIN AND YANG but even though they are the opposite of each other, it can tell us that LOVE CONQUERS ALL. Love is the strongest power the three realms could ever hope for and I believe the goddess of time is also the Love and Hate Goddess, moreso, like she is the Mother God that created the YIN and YANG, which is obviously HRY AND BJS. That is also why she revived BJS because they cannot exist without the other and she loves them both equally.

10 yrs of physical pain vs 300 years of emotional pain. Who can say which hurt more?

This dramas seems to be very polarizing for a lot of people. Reviews range from this being a masterpiece to a redone xianxia plot with the same characters that they've seen hundreds of times before.

For casual viewers, the story might seem like a recycled xianxia plot that they've seen before and they're not necessarily wrong. Superficially, the ML and FL have misunderstanding which causes them to exact revenge, nothing new. What makes this drama different is knowing that not everything is as it seems. Knowing that there will be many plot twists forces you to almost become a detective and to engage and notice every single detail from the seemingly innocent actions to the microexpression on the actors' faces.

Many people are either looking for something to pass their time or they're not willing to give the drama a chance. Nothing wrong with that, Feud just won't be your cup of tea.

This is the first drama that I have ever felt compelled to write a review on. Seeing so many people either blaming/siding with BJS or HRY, I would like to put my two cents in.

While I agree that communication could have solved some tension between the couple. The underlying issue is far harder to resolve. People are forgetting that they are the representation of yin and yang. One is fire, the other is water. One is warm in nature, the other is cold in nature. Their views and priority have never been the same. There was a reason they fought for thousands of years before finally calling a truce. The only common denominator between them was and is their love for each other.

HRY had wandered civilization for thousands of years before awakening BJS; so she is able to empathize more with humans. Whereas the first thing BJS saw when he opened his eyes was HRY, and all he ever cared about was her. She was the only one in his eyes and everything he has done was to keep her safe.

Both of their actions are valid in accordance to what they believe and see (BJS heartlessly abandoning her in the mortal realm vs HRY coming back after 10 yrs and trying to kill him seemingly out of nowhere). No one should be playing the blame game. No one can say who is hurt more. No one can negate nor dismiss either one's experience and pain. Neither of them are wrong.

All that said, I would highly recommend this drama for viewers. To come in with an open mind and attention to detail. BL and ZSX, along with the rest of the cast have done a wonderful job in depicting their characters.

Recommended Emotional rollercoaster

Great drama if you are in the mood for a good cry but don’t worry…our couple has a happy ending. If you’re on the fence, give it a go….just have tissues ready.

Synapsis: : Please stick with it!!!! without spoiling it too much, it’s about 2 immortals and their cycles of love and hate. It’s about sacrifice, regret, revenge, forgiveness, new beginnings, and old grudges. I say give it until ep 24!!!! I know it’s only 32 episodes and watching 24 episodes is more than halfway and a big chunk of time..but If you aren’t fully invested by ep 24, then drop the remaining 8..but like most viewers, you’ll become obsessed! It can be confusing because the story alternates between Past and present but for the most part, everything comes together.

Characters:

FL : Hua Ruyue is righteous and strong willed. She goes through hell and comes out stronger than ever. You will definitely cry with and for her. There were so many times I just wanted to give her a hug. Honestly, I felt she deserved MORE than what she got in the end but I’m just happy she ended up with our ML in the finale. Not only is Bailu beautiful but does such a great job acting-wise!!! She really is in the top of her game!👏🏼

ML: Bai Jusui is orderly, intelligent, and cold but you can see in his eyes his heartbreak, loyalty, and love for our FL. He breaks our FL’s heart over and over again so I get why she’s angry and hates him. He’s probably just a tragic as the FL, some would say even more so, but despite him hurting her and being the cause of what she went through, I very happy that he gets a happy ending with the FL too. *also, omfg. Joseph Zeng is just gorgeous with white hair. Minimal makeup and styling just made him more regal! Def looking forward to more of his dramas😍

Side characters were mostly done well. Some were annoying but overall, they didn’t overwhelm the main couples journey and they also had engaging storylines. If you watch, you’ll understand.

I’m so sad this drama is over. It definitely was a journey and not for the weak. Very likely to rewatch again. Although it had some hiccups, I still give it a 10/10 because it hit my heart in all the right places.

Not the Epic War I Expected, but a Worthy Watch

Feud, starring Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng, was my first-ever wuxia or fantasy drama and overall, I think it’s a pretty solid drama. I wouldn’t say I absolutely loved it, but I also wouldn’t call it bad. It was okay.

To be honest, I came in expecting an epic story about wars between cities or kingdoms. But it turned out that the main focus of the plot is actually their marriage. The drama mostly revolves around their broken relationship and all the misunderstandings between them. So if you’re hoping for large scale battles, that’s not really what this drama is about.

That said, I still think it’s a good drama. Bai Lu plays a strong, intelligent woman, a little cunning at times, but in a way that makes sense. Her actions are driven by revenge, but also by a desire to open the male lead’s eyes to his mistakes. Meanwhile, Joseph Zeng also gives a great performance. His character truly wants to fix their marriage and doesn’t give up on chasing after his ex-wife, which is touching in its own way.

I think Feud is a good pick if you enjoy fantasy settings, though I personally find it hard to review fantasy dramas in general. Would I rewatch it? Probably not, because the plot feels like it goes in circles at times, and the pacing can get a little frustrating. But overall, it’s still a good drama with strong performances and beautiful visuals.

Twisted fate

I am quite unsettled by this series. The plot twists, especially in the first part of the series, were just diabolical. I can say those really came unexpected. Not sure if it was in a good or bad way, but it did push the story further.

The whole story is very interesting. Definitely not for everyone and it takes some getting used to. If you're not typically into stories about immortals and mortals who cultivate mystical powers, this might go way over your head. It does take a lot for the world building to settle and be more relatable.

I have generally liked Bai Lu, she did an amazing job as A'Yue/Li quing yue. That character has to be the most exhausting and frustrating with all that it had gone through. But I really came to watch this for Joseph Zeng. That man can do no wrong. He was the perfect Bai Jiu Si (bae juicy!) He played the role of tsundere deity like he was born for it. I am a little disappointed with their chemistry though - I mean, they are a good looking couple but I didn't really feel excited about their romance at all. If they give me Bai Lu and Joseph Zeng in a modern drama, I would definitely watch them together again.

Again, this series is a lot. It is pretty emotional. It tries to teach a lesson about love, forgiveness, revenge, and choices, among other things. I was let down with the ending, because what the hell happened? It just felt like it was all over the place, some characters were not fully developed, and some storyline subplots were dropped or completely forgotten.

I recommend this if you are a masochist. This is definitely a good series for you.

The story could have been good.

If you remove 1 character in the story.
The misunderstandings would be solved easily.
This Dude aint even a villain or anything.
He is just a LOW IQ side character that serves the purpose of worsening the situations.

Good story destroyed by an absolute cringe character. Cant take the story seriously because of him tbh. Zero rewatch value. (Cant place zero)
