A Tale of Thousand Lies
An unpredictable phycological thriller drama that manages to keep you in the dark almost until the end. The mystery part is very interesting and suspenseful. Highly detailed with many twists and turns, the story requires the audience's full attention from the very beginning, because a lot of information is not going to be repeated more than once and everything said will be important later on.Regarding the romantic aspect of the series, I wasn't as convinced. It needed a stronger build-up or less space in the plot by skipping any unnecessary scenes, so it felt more naturally integrated to the rest of the story and its style, rather than like a separate storyline. The fusion of the two genres just wasn't very successful, in my opinion.
As for the characters, they were well-developed overall, very intriguing, with some interesting traits. They were neither two-dimensional nor without depth, and everyone had their own goals and motivations.
The acting was good as well. Every actor did a fine job and I was more than happy to see Force and Book in roles that were very different from the ones they are usually cast in.
Overall, I do recommend this series, especially to fans of mysteries and complex plots. It has some issues with the whole execution and the writing, but it's still a drama with a lot of layers that will keep your attention, and the payoff will be worth it.

Confused and Not Having Fun
I told myself this year that I would stop forcing myself to continue shows that don’t resonate with me in the slightest, and Melody of Secrets is exactly that kind of series. It’s confusing, perplexing, and having to constantly rewatch scenes just to figure out what on earth is happening is not fun. A solid -1/10 experience for me.Let’s Dive In.
I wanted to like this because I genuinely enjoy ForceBook as a duo, but this was exhausting. If you love theorizing, interpreting, and piecing together a puzzle where nothing is immediately clear, this might be your show. For me, though, I need a plot that makes sense, preferably sooner rather than later. Surrealism and mystery are fine, but they still need internal logic, and this series simply doesn’t have it.
The editing is especially rough. One moment we’re in one location, the next we’ve jumped somewhere else entirely. Characters change clothes and then revert back in the very next scene. It’s disorienting in a way that feels careless rather than intentional, and I don’t have the patience to keep rewinding just to understand basic continuity.
ForceBook also feel oddly forced here. The chemistry isn’t landing, everything feels a bit awkward, and Force is once again stuck in the “stoic man with one facial expression” role. I found myself watching just for the sake of finishing, and I’ve decided I’m not doing another year of regret-watching.
Ratings:
Story: 3/10 - Far too disorienting, and I don’t enjoy being confused for confusion’s sake. Also, why didn’t they cast actual teenagers for the younger versions? I’m sorry, but you cannot convince me that Force, Book, or Junior pass as teens.
Acting: 7/10 - Not terrible, but not impressive either. No one truly stood out.
Music: 5/10 - Honestly? I don’t remember it.
Recommendation Value: 2/10 - Maybe if your love for ForceBook is unshakable, or if you’re craving unnecessary complications in your life. For me, I do not (and yes, thank you Force for taking your shirt off several times, but that alone cannot keep me here).

Title: Back to the Beginning — D.C.
For ten years, he lived as someone else. When Thontarn learned that the life he had been living as Photleng was never truly his own, he chose to walk away — even from Tankhun, the person who loved him the most. Not because he stopped loving him, but because he needed to find himself first.
What makes this finale powerful is not the resolution of the murder mystery, nor the answers to the long-buried secrets.
It is about identity.
Thontarn’s entire life had been shaped by other people’s sacrifices, lies, and desperate attempts to protect him. He carried guilt for surviving. He carried the weight of a name that was never meant to be his.
But when the truth finally surfaced, he also discovered something else:
He had never been alone.
Photleng tried to save him.
Mrs. Kang loved him as her own son.
His father committed an unforgivable act to protect him.
And Tankhun — from the very beginning — loved him as himself.
Not as a replacement.
Not as a shadow.
But as Thontarn.
The title of the final episode, “D.C. (Da Capo)”, means “back to the beginning.” It is not about returning to the past — it is about starting again, properly this time.
The previous episodes were heavy with revelations, almost overwhelming in their pace. But looking back, that density existed to clear the stage for this quiet, emotional restoration.
Tankhun does not rescue Thontarn.
He waits.
And that choice — to wait — might be the most romantic gesture in the entire series.
The lake that once witnessed tragedy now witnesses rebirth. The melody that once carried secrets now carries acceptance.
This drama was never simply about suspense. The murders and memory loss were mechanisms — painful ones — that forced the characters to confront who they truly were.
The ending is not a fairy tale. Loss remains. The past cannot be erased.
But Thontarn chooses to live as himself.
And that is enough.

Secrets have never been more melodic
Melody of Secrets is good, trust me.It started out vague and weird. Because you don't really recieve a diary you kept ten years ago from your ex-boyfriend, who suddenly wants to revisit your relationship. That ended ten years ago. I'm real life, this is the work of a serial killer and you should only go meet this person up of you are a police officer. But Botphleng is a journalist and he's curious, so he goes to the woods near his house (serial killer location by the way) and that's where he meets Tankhun. And because I'm always right, the two of them also find a dead body. Now this is where the plot starts up - but I'm not going to spoil anything for anybody. Except this one last thing. Botphleng lost all his memories ten years ago.
Now I won't spoil anything because the twists and turns in this series genuinely had me gagged. Some of them even earned an audible gasp from me and before you ask, yes. It will make you want to tear your hair out, but it's worth it (not literally, it's a figure of speech). The shocks keep coming, almost every episode and they keep you on your toes. You don't even have to pay attention to every single detail here! You can zone out for a minute and it wouldn't matter because the story is solid and it's not too complicated in a way that makes you want to drop the series. Just confusing.
And you will zone out too! They had a ton of filler scenes and pacing issues, one of the weak points of this series by the way, but who doesn't enjoy a series where you can take a tiny nap while an unnecessary second couple are forced to flirt with each other?
Because I won't complain about the lead pairing. Nope, one of the brightest spots in the series, especially considering how weirdly their relationship starts out, even without them being shared witnesses to a murder. It gets so weird until you actually feel creeped out because you're rooting for this weirdness?? But they're so cute and once everything is out in the open, you can actually see that they're perfect for each other. And no notes about Force and Book's chemistry either. Botphleng and Tankhun are the pair you get when you balance Top/Mew and Arc/Arm - perfect amounts of toxic cuteness.
It is strangely comforting, the whole vibe of it - with the dramatic OST, the gestures of grandeur, and the whispers and the secrets, it shouldn't be a weekly comfort watch by any means, but I'm weird and it worked.
And I do recommend this. I'm not sure how convincing my arguments are, and I may be led to believe that this is very much a watch down to people's preferences, but I will recommend. Melody of Secrets is good. Trust me.

How to tell a story without telling a story...
The first episode delivers impressively nuanced storytelling, weaving together emotional mystery and criminal intrigue with a confidence that immediately pulls the viewer in. By pairing Botphleng’s memory loss with Tankhun’s claim of being his first love, the narrative creates an instant emotional charge, one that feels both intimate and unsettling. The diary adds another clever layer, serving not only as a fragment of Botphleng’s past but also as a potential tool of manipulation, leaving us unsure which character is telling the truth. Tankhun’s line “If you were faking your memory loss, you wouldn’t have come here” lands with striking ambiguity: it could be reassurance, a confession of longing, or a subtle attempt to control the situation. This blend of vulnerability, suspicion and unresolved affection gives the episode an emotional depth that feels genuinely human. It’s a smart, compelling foundation that promises a complex and emotionally charged story to come. Interestingly, this is just about how most of the trailer looks like, meaning there is much more for us to know in coming weeks!
The dynamic between Botphleng and Tankhun is clearly positioned to deepen, whether toward genuine love, emotional manipulation, or a revelation that recontextualizes everything we’ve seen. The diary hints at a storyline where memories, secrets, and evidence become increasingly intertwined, especially as the criminal investigation advances. Most importantly, the episode’s willingness to leave questions open rather than rushing toward answers shows that future episodes are likely to peel back layers slowly, revealing new motives, shifting power dynamics, and emotional complexities. In short, episode one promises a series that values tension, ambiguity, and slow-burning character development, suggesting we’re only at the surface of something far more intricate.
The strength of this first episode sets up a future that feels emotionally rich and narratively unpredictable. Its careful balance of romance, mystery, and psychological tension suggests that the series will continue to blur the line between truth and perception, keeping viewers unsure of who to trust and what Botphleng’s past really contains.

Melody of Multiverse Level Timelines
This was great, overall I would suggest anybody to give a chance. You'll definitely have to pay attention though, because the storyline can get kind of convoluted throughout. It was hard to follow at points, but it wraps back around so most likely you'll be on track by the end. I think Force and Book's relationship was semi-rushed at the beginning so it didn't hit quite as hard as it could've. But I understand with the lost memory and twists it makes more sense. I think Book did a fantastic job with the complex emotions thrown at his character throughout this plot. As well as Junior too, it was wild some of the things they showed in this involving mental health crisis. And Mark...anytime I get to see Mark I'm happy. Was this review helpful to you?

I Dropped It
I see a lot of people in the comments so eager to defend their favs they can't even tolerate people not enjoying this.So let me tell you right now before you use your predetermined defense to ignore my points that I LOVE a good mystery. I loved the 1st half of DFF, all the Knives Out films, am thoroughly enjoying GBYFD and also sorta intrigued by DYTD; I watch murder mysteries and documentaries all the time, one of my all time favourite series is The Haunting (both Hill House and Bly Manor).
The problem with Melody of Secrets? The mystery simply hasn't proven itself to be good.
Nor did anything else, really.
The chemistry is non-existing, the plot doesn't move one bit, the characters barely even work at their jobs. They keep trynna sell you confusion but what they're selling you is actually frustration because nothing happens, nothing changes, nothing moves.
And then after this lukewarm still water 3 episodes they try to get you with a predictable plot twist and a hand full of nothing. How am I supposed to say it's good? Honestly? It sucks. That's it. It just sucks.

Melody of secrets — Music to the ears of a thriller x romance lover
I usually don't write reviews, but this one is SO underrated and has so much unnecessary hate that I HAD to write oneU got it right, this is indeed music to a thriller series lover's ears. I say this because there were so many plot twists after plot twists, and they all made sense. When you sit down and watch it once it's done airing, it's gonna make a lot more sense, and you'll GENUINELY love it.
Sure, maybe the series isn't for everyone, mostly because of the plot twists and all, and I've seen a lot of people say that they couldn't comprehend the plot, and sure, I will say that there were some confusing parts, but they were usually making sense over the next few episodes, SO UR DOUBTS WILL BE CLEARED.
I've also seen comments that say the director shouldn't have played an important role, but I personally think he ate his role and I think all the actors did a fine job, be it the main actors, Force and Book, the support actors Jan, Junior (ESPECIALLY JUNIOR), Boun, Ployphach, Botpleng's mom (she did SOO good to), Botpleng's grandma and Jamie. The guest roles also did really well (whom we will not name for the sake of not ruining the plot)
Everyone did SO well, and I definitely recommend this series. PLEASEEE don't sleep on this series. Give it a chance.
That being said, every drama DOES have its bad sides. I will admit that the first two episodes felt a little dragged and somewhat vague. It wasn't holding that THRILLING aspect yk, but the more the characters didn't trust each other, and the more the plot started revealing, the story got WAY way better. Most of the plot twists were so uncalled for, and it wasn't that easy to figure out what was next, so you'd be shocked every single plot twist (hopefully 🤞)
THANK YOU FOR READINGG, please give it a try 🫶

When Chemistry Hits but the Mystery Keeps You Guessing
Okey, This is my first time reviewing! i had to do it because people are sleeping on this seriesI’m literally hooked. Four episodes in, and this drama has me completely curious about how the story is going to unwrap as it progresses. Every episode leaves me wanting answers while also throwing more questions at me, and honestly, that’s part of the charm.
The plot feels fresh, especially for a BL. The memory loss angle combined with the mystery element is something I haven’t really seen explored like this before, and it immediately sets the drama apart. Each episode has its own impact, making me feel more intrigued and, at times, confused in a good way. The kind of confusion that makes you replay scenes and analyze every detail.
The pacing, though, is a bit mixed. It feels like a strange combination of slow burn and rushed at the same time. While I do enjoy the kisses and romantic moments, I personally wish the story slowed down a little more. I’m very much into yearning, desperation, and emotional tension, and I feel like the angst of Tanpleng could have been explored more deeply if the pacing allowed it.
The mystery layer is definitely on the confusing side, especially for viewers who don’t analyze much. Since I already know some major spoilers, I can follow where the story is headed, but I can see how people with less concentration might struggle. That said, this confusion only makes me want to watch more and connect the dots myself.
Now, the chemistry. Absolutely on point. From episode one itself, the chemistry between Force and Book is serving, and yes, I might be a little biased, but it genuinely works. Their dynamic pulls you in immediately and keeps you invested.
Performance-wise, everyone is doing a great job. Book having multiple people crushing on him is always a win, and the confession scenes were especially enjoyable. There honestly isn’t a single bad actor in this series; everyone shines in their own way. The leads, in particular, surprised me. After Peaceful Property, seeing them cry this much and deliver such emotional scenes really shows how much their acting has improved.
Visually, the drama is beautiful. The cinematography, lighting, and aesthetics give the series a special glow. The OSTs are another highlight; ForceBook absolutely nailed them, and both songs have already become favorites for me. While the pilot trailer felt darker, the current lighter tone gives the drama its true romantic thriller vibe, which works really well.
Emotionally, episode 4 hit hard. When they cried, I cried with them. The angst is finally showing up, and the actors are nailing those moments, though I definitely want more angst moving forward.
Some standout positives for me are the cameos and, of course, the kissing scenes. They’re genuinely eating up the screen every time. My only real complaint so far is the pacing. With just 10 episodes, the story feels like it’s moving too fast, and I can’t help but think it would’ve hit even harder with more room to breathe.
Going forward, I’m hoping for more plot twists, more emotional depth, and definitely more cameos. I’m even manifesting one particular actor to show up.
Overall, Melody of Secrets is intriguing, emotionally engaging, and visually pleasing. It’s already shaping up to be a memorable BL, and I’m very excited to see how the mystery unfolds

A ForceBook series that is one of a kind.
The storyline was so good. Makes you think, predict, or theorized what really happened in the past. Something that would make you think critically while having fun watching the series. Actors acting skills were very good, too. Really served us with different emotions that makes us, viewers, felt satisfied. ForceBook as actors are really doing great and put a lot of effort not just MOS but also all the other series they have. From episode 1 till episode 7, I am still hooked up with this series. Can't wait for the next episodes.
Watch it. You'll love it too.
