A Completed Goal That Lead To Romance! One Of The Best BL Of 2025!

(I was told to copy and paste my review here since I posted in the comment section here. Thanks to commentator for pointing it out lol)

Alright so here is my final review. This series is hands down one of the BEST BL I've seen in a long time. One of the best BL of 2025!!! This is easily one of my top favorite BL overall. I am adding this one to my favorite BL series!!! I should have started this sooner and now I can't get over it! I am obsessed with this show!!! I can understand the hype of this show now! I will say this. It may be the BEST BL for me this year. Some of the other ones I am watching currently doesn't really give me the feeling like I have for this series! What have this show done to me!!??

First thing first, I am glad that Chai Ji Dan choose to remake this BL telling the whole story without cutting out all the "explict" and men's kissing scenes! It doesn't feel complete without it honestly. Counterattack (the old version) was good and also funny, but this version is 10x better, 10x funnier, and the chemistry is top notch! I remember years ago, I was so devastated that they didn't continue Counterattack and left at a cliff hanger. I was so heart-broken then, but now I am healed from all those years of the cliff hangers. I got to see the entire story now! I am so happy and so emotional because I always wanted to see a completed Chinese BL that wasn't censored or anything like that. "Addicted" hurted me a lot cuz the story was cut in half and it was a Chinese BL I was so into back then too. At least this show gave me the satisfaction! Literally! I'm so happy that I am about to cry now! If Chinese BL were not censored, they would easily beat a lot of the BL from other countries.

There's some issue and toxicity on this show, but honestly, it adds to the story lol. I usually don't care for the 2nd couple, but this show got me wanting the happy ending for both the main couple and side couple. All of the casts were eye-candy af and they were all really good actors overall. Tian Xu Ning as Chi Cheng is literally his role. The emotions he conveys throughout the show as Chi Cheng was one of the big factor on making this show really great I feel. I love all the actors equally honestly though. I'm sure at this point the actors gain lots of popularity and they truly deserve it because they did really good in this show! I really wish them the best and they quite fearless to still act in a BL honestly. I pray the best for all of the actors and crew behind this incredible show!

The story and pacing was on point. Never did I felt like the story seems dry or boring at any point. This show had good amount of the sexiness, the sexual tensions, and the build-ups. It also have equal amount of comedy scenes, lovey-dovey scenes, heart-warming scenes, and scenes that moves the entire story really well. The ending was perfect on it's own because all the characters re-united for one last time. All I wanted was a happy ending and I got that too lol. Now that I finished the show, the OST is growing onto me too. It's gonna take me awhile to get over this show now 😞.

If they have a boxset or some kind of official merchandise, I am literally supporting them. Take my money!!! Lol

Revenged Love: A Story That Stays in the Heart

Revenged Love is truly a masterpiece that touched my heart from beginning to end. The plot is filled with emotions, intensity and beautifully crafted storytelling that keeps you connected with every scene. The chemistry between the actors is absolutely amazing, especially between Tian Xuning (as Chi Cheng) and Ziyu (as Wo Suwei). Their performances felt so natural and genuine that I couldn’t stop rooting for their characters. They brought the emotions of love, pain and healing to life in such a powerful way.I want to give special love and respect to my favorite actor Tian Xuning. His acting was outstanding every expression, every moment felt so real and heartfelt. He has a unique way of pulling the audience into the character’s emotions and I truly admire his talent and dedication. The entire cast and crew deserve appreciation for creating such a beautiful drama. From the direction, writing, cinematography to the music everything came together perfectly. Thank you for giving us Revenged Love a story that will stay with fans for a long time.

To fall in love with a rival... but as for who that rival is, Wu Su Wei isn't telling.

"Revenged Love" is certainly a peculiar show. My viewing experience with it was very different from other series. It’s been a long time since I followed a show weekly as it aired, only to then take a long break and wait for it to finish before binging the final 10 episodes. It was a fragmented viewing journey and not my usual style, but thankfully, the show did not disappoint.

I think a series like "Revenged Love" in 2025 is a truly unique breath of fresh air. It combines character tropes straight out of 2015 with plot points that feel uniquely its own, all filtered through modern sensibilities. This blend creates a show that is simultaneously humorous, endearingly silly and cringey, cliché, and charming. The funny thing is, I always felt like I was watching novel characters performing a play, as the series is so strongly reminiscent of danmei (BL) from a decade ago. And I mean that as a compliment; it's been a while since I've seen a show that pushed its character archetypes to the absolute maximum like this.

When talking about "Revenged Love," I want to divide it into three parts—the beginning, middle, and end—each with its own adjective: Interesting, Conflicting, and Serene.

The first part, roughly the first 10 episodes, was perfectly paced for weekly viewing, leaving you eager to watch the behind-the-scenes footage while you waited. The character interactions were cute in that cringey, shy, and awkward way that makes you both laugh and squirm with delight. Wu Su Wei's journey to woo his rival was a process I’ve never seen in any show before, simply because the characters' train of thought is truly one-of-a-kind. It was incredibly cute and silly.

The second part began to unravel the past of the main trio: Chi Cheng, Wang Shuo, and Guo Cheng Yu. This is the section that made me put the series on hold. Partly because I didn't want my opinion to be swayed by others, and partly because the piled-up misunderstandings felt a bit illogical and weren't quite to my taste. I'm a big fan of angst, but these angsty arcs felt dragged out and the execution was peculiar, unfolding in ways I didn't expect. The complicated relationships of their past made me a bit hesitant.
Fortunately, when I binged the entire second half in one go, the initial warmth and charm returned, concluding the series with a sun-drenched warmth that successfully warmed my heart.

After saying all that, I just want to affirm that "Revenged Love" is a very different kind of show, both in my subjective viewing experience and in a more objective sense. It is a rare Chinese BL drama in today's market, pioneering a new path for a genre that has been "shunned" in mainland China. The show caused quite a stir during its run, and witnessing that, I feel it has truly laid a brick in the road ahead. Where that road leads is anyone's guess—it could be a resurgence of BL dramas in China and the world, or it could lead to even harsher censorship. But regardless of the path, I believe "Revenged Love" has undeniably etched its name onto the landscape of television.

Honestly, "Revenged Love" is a simple series, meant purely for entertainment. It succeeded in its role of delivering laughter, fluttery feelings, emotion, and food for thought to its audience. And that's everything a show like this needs to be.
As for the cast and characters, the chemistry is solid, especially the main couple in the early episodes and the side couple in the later ones (and throughout the whole show). I hate to admit it, but I found myself leaning a little more towards the side couple by the end. And, though I know it's an impossible wish, I often thought that Zi Yu and Tian Hu Ning would be perfect for a campus romance series; perhaps a role like that would feel more effortless than their characters here.

This bl deserves hype like thai bl so that other chinese bl would be amazing like this . It really shows how a person can act differently towards the one who he really likes.

From ‘Not My Thing’ to Peak Obsession

I honestly didn’t expect this kind of BL to get me. To be fair, I used to stick to censored BL and wasn’t interested in “straight-up” BL stories. Back then, I avoided this one… until TikTok edits kept attacking my FYP like a personal mission. So, I caved. And wow.

This is my second BL drama watched (the first was Meet You at the Blossom), and right from episode one, I was surprised — not only because of the plot, but because Tian Xuning and Zhan Xuan popped up, and I’d already seen them in other dramas. The first episode? Peak. I blinked and suddenly it was the middle of the night because I couldn’t stop watching.

Every character here gives something. The plot is tight, and that’s honestly what kept me invested until the end. I’m not really into watching behind-the-scenes stuff — it just feels awkward to me even though I know the actors are close — but the onscreen chemistry? Chef’s kiss. Every couple has a unique storyline, no filler fluff.

I do feel bad about the hate this drama got during its release. There were even rumors about the writer disliking Zi Yu (which I did not see coming), but regardless, I’m rooting for either a reunion project or a Season 2. Highly recommended — this drama really went from “not my thing” to “you’ll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.”

“I have a home again”

Omg this series killed me😭😭😭😭 I love it so much and the characters are so close to my heart now - I’m gonna miss it so much.

The vibe of the series really changed over the episodes. The beginning was a lot more dark and secretive and it got so much lighter, especially with the plot.

I had no problem with it. Honestly the pacing was perfect for me and the small moments that were cheesy made it all the more enjoyable💗💗💗

Revenge Transformed: How Heartbreak Becomes Healing, A Twisted Road to Love

Revenge Love follows the story of Wu Suo Wei, who, after being dumped for his lack of wealth, sets out to improve himself, only to realize he’s too late and his girlfriend has already moved on. By fate, he crosses paths with Chi Cheng, but their first encounters are anything but friendly. When Wu Suo Wei discovers Chi Cheng is now dating his ex, he enlists the help of Jiang Xiao Shuai to plot revenge. However, what begins as a scheme soon takes an unexpected turn when Wu Suo Wei starts falling for Chi Cheng for real.

The series does an excellent job of weaving together themes of heartbreak, personal growth, family struggles, and the hesitations that come with opening up to love again. It feels grounded and relatable, particularly in how it portrays the difficulty of moving on and learning to trust after betrayal. Each character has their own backstory and struggles, and their arcs are brought to meaningful closure, some joyful, others bittersweet.

The dynamics between the couples stand out as a highlight. Guo Cheng Yu initially tried to win Xiao Shuai’s heart through games, but what truly stood out was the quiet devotion he showed behind the scenes, his affection was tender, genuine, and deeply endearing. Meanwhile, Wei Wei and Chi Cheng’s relationship was turbulent yet compelling, they pushed through misunderstandings, insecurities, and emotional walls to finally find balance. Chi Cheng’s struggle with vulnerability and Wei Wei’s fear of new emotions felt genuine and layered.

Not every character left a positive impression. Wang Shuo’s character was particularly frustrating. While his illness adds context to his behavior, it does not excuse the manipulative and calculated choices he made. And does not justify the way his love warped into obsession and possessiveness. Regardless, the show allowed him closure, ensuring he no longer interfered in Wei Wei and Chi Cheng’s lives. Also, Yue Yue’s failed schemes felt deserved, and her arc served as a cautionary note about selfish desire.

That said, the series isn’t without flaws. The inclusion of an early SA scene felt unnecessary. Additionally, a recurring issue was the characters’ inability to communicate (all of them), despite constantly having their phones on them. While this lack of communication heightened the drama and misunderstandings, it occasionally felt overused. But it sure did thicken the story making it impossible (at least for me) to stop watching, waiting for everything to come out.

On the technical side, the soundtrack was a standout, elevating the emotional moments beautifully. The cinematography, however, could have been sharper, though the realistic costume design, with each character re-wearing outfits instead of showcasing a new wardrobe every episode, added authenticity and relatability.

Overall, Revenge Love delivers more than just romance; it explores complex emotions, flawed relationships, and the courage it takes to move forward. The series is heartfelt, engaging, memorable and full of emotional ups and downs. It leaves you reflecting not only on love but also on the struggles of growth, forgiveness, and vulnerability.

A wonderful story about self-sacrificing love with a happy ending.

It's actually a very nice story. A aimless dreamer and a bored realist find each other through a series of detours, both get their lives in order, learn to love and trust. The two main and supporting characters fit together perfectly, it feels organic. The emotions are very convincing and well acted, the music is well chosen and the series is beautifully filmed. Unfortunately, the script has some weaknesses. Some twists come too suddenly, such as the financial audit of the art company. I also find it a little difficult to keep track of time within the series. In the penultimate episode, Wei Wei says that two years have passed, but I find that little in the script or the cinematic implementation indicates this, with no signs of seasons that could indicate how much time has passed. That's a shame, but it only detracts slightly from the enjoyment of the series.
A really beautiful series that shows how love can change people for the better (Wei Wei, Chi, Guo, Xiao) but also for the worse (Wang Shuo). It contains a lot of social criticism (old family values, non-acceptance of homosexuality, people who are only interested in money and not love), yet the series impressively shows that positive love also has a positive influence on the people around them. I really enjoyed the series and could imagine watching it again soon.

Even though the following does not belong to the series per se, I would like to say this once (referring to the terrible scenes with Zi Yu at the airport): These stalker-like, so-called fans are not fans but sick, delusional people. Approaching artists in this way and frightening them is not respectful behaviour. They should be happy and grateful to see their stars in real life at all (and be respectful and kind accordingly); many international fans like me will probably never have the pleasure of seeing the artists live. Please be respectful to your idols and people in general! Best regards from Germany.
