They didn't show any of his training and I doubt he'd be able to under FL's watchful eye. He also didn't mention it after the duel, just that he got back on his feet recently. After 8 years in a wheelchair he should have been very rusty.

ML fighting like he's been training non-stop, instead of sitting in a wheelchair for 8 years was def a cdrama moment, if there ever was one. Also, that wheelchair kungfu 🤣

Btw, I don’t recall it was being shown, what’s the backstory of FL’s helper captain guy? Is he also a graduate from the mountain? She’s been working with him from the very beginning, but he doesn’t know what happened up there. How she immediately found him after descending and included him in all of her revenge plans so quickly without reservations? She’s been very secretive with everybody else.

Sets here scream lack of budget unfortunately. Especially compared to some other recent cdramas.

I think it's the first drama I've ever watched featuring severe PTSD that tries to show something positive.
And dramas about schizos are usually either about psychos or total crazies like in Shutter Island, but overall very depressing.

I'm just hoping the main couple wouldn't turn into a trainwreck, tbh. The rest'd be a nice bonus.

I as I've said above, I don't think the writers would dare going schizophrenia route. Also, there was one medical guy's reply somewhere down below saying it can all be attributed to PTSD and it's 50/50 treatable. In drama terms it's 100%.

So out of all the side couples which ones will make it in the end?
So far we have:
-SFL and assassin guy
-Travelogue noble girl and marquis's illegitimate son
-Rival country's princess and ML's merchant friend

SML is forever alone btw, as they always are, lol.

Here's hoping her helper guy will go up the mountain to investigate and will return with news soon. Not sure what's gonna be her reaction though, probably denial.

Also, the writers wouldn't dare tread into schizophrenia, I think. Nobody wants to watch tragedies nowadays.

She assosiates herself with her martial arts teacher. It's all in her head. She's the one that's actually fighting.

It's not schizophrenia, but PTSD with DID symptomps. Schizophrenia would have manifested even in her childhood, but she was a normal kid before.
And it wasn't many years, what happened at the mountain already had spoiler teasers - she was grown up there when it happened. PTSD is treatable with varying success. And since it's a drama, it's guaranteed she'll get better with ML's help. Typical "power of love" trope that actually works irl.

I'm more incredulous of ML's recovery in like 3 months. They were married for half a year, he got his legs rebroken somewhere halfway through. With his injuries 3 months is bare minimum for bones to heal, any sort of physiotherapy nonwithstanding. But the guy here already can walk all day and gonna fight that other general guy in the next episode while not having trained for years.

It's all ridiculous for drama's sake. Gotta suspend some disbelief to enjoy it, I guess.
