yeah - i dont really care if she turns back to MQG or stays SRR since theyre the same person imo but i would be slightly bothered if they left MQG's personality with SRR voice. haha i love SRR voice but it wouldnt feel right if she dress like MQG hahaha

haha yup he definitely was! I dont mind the blood spitting, but the only problem I had with TTEOTM blood spitting is that it's all over their teeth and they still continue to talk and scream hahaha so it was distracting to me T__T

I think to him, he sees them as the exact same person even with the personality change. And to be fair...they are the same person. Just different personality due to different life experiences. I just thought it would be interesting of a discussion to see if he were to meet both of them at the same time who would he have preferred ;p

TBH i think in terms of blood spitting I feel like there was a lot more in TTEOTM

I was rewatching one of the trailers, and it does seem like SRR will eventually regained not just her memory but kinda everything about MQG. So even her voice, dressing habits, and personality (in red with same hairstyle). There was scene where she confronted SY and when she shouted his name, she said "Xiao Yu!" in MQG's voice.
Not like I really care since I love them both but I know some ppl in this sub seems to prefer MQG personality so dw you'll get her back lol

After thinking about this... at the end of the day, even though their personalities differ, their morals, mindset, and values are more or less the same.

Both love and treasure their world, and both believe that with great power comes great responsibility. They see every life as worth saving and deserving of love. Even though they both have the potential to become celestials, as they’ve both stated, they prefer the liveliness of the human world. All they truly want is to be free—enjoy good food, admire handsome men, drink fine alcohol, and be with the people they love. This mentality is the complete opposite of SYS who was once very selfish and wants great power to trample over people and make them beg for mercy... which was why I think he finds her very fascinating/charming.

So, I guess an argument can be made that what SYS truly loves is their soul, regardless of who they are.

If ran ran wasn't MQG and just one of his regular disciple, do you think he'll fall in love with her?

I really like MQG, and I’ve noticed that most people seem to prefer her over Ran Ran (though Ran Ran is also quite popular). I think one reason MQG is favored is that her story was more action-packed and fast-paced, which helped convey the past quickly without making it feel dragged out. Now that the story has reached the present, it seems like the focus is shifting toward developing all the characters and fleshing out the story which is why we’re seeing more screen time and backstory for the side characters as well. I appreciate this because it makes the world building a lot more enjoyable.

That said, I think Ran Ran is a great character. She may be a bit naive, but she’s also very clever. Plus, as the story progresses, she’s becoming more powerful, which makes me love her character even more.

NOWWW the actual question is.....who does SYS prefers? hahaha like if he had to choose one...hmm

well...there's really no rule to xianxia so a master and disciple relationship is fine. Though most xianxia novels do like to make it forbidden for plot

I think it's because a lot of xianxia dramas tend to be repetitive, so people who are already bored with the genre dismiss them as soon as they see "xianxia" in the description.

I agree that there are a lot of xianxia dramas, but that’s true for every genre. Over the past year, how many revenge dramas have been released? What about mystery/crime-solving dramas, wuxia, time travel, or body-switch stories? Plenty! The difference is that these genres aren’t as popular or get a lot of promotions (usually do to lower budgets), so people don’t notice them as much. In reality, they get released just as often—if not more—than xianxia. I can easily count a dozen female-led revenge dramas, wuxia series, and so on even in the last 3 months. They don’t get as much attention, leading people to believe that xianxia is overwhelming the market when it's really not
