I actually like that the recent episode explored other characters' pasts, giving us a glimpse into their backstories. I’ve always believed that a good drama, especially xianxia, needs well-developed villains; otherwise, there’s an imbalance. Understanding why they became the way they are and why they chose their path makes the show much more compelling, rather than just presenting a villain and simply telling us they're evil
Can I just say that Deng Wei’s micro-expressions are amazing? He doesn’t even need to speak—you can instantly tell if he’s happy, sad, jealous, angry, or proud. His eye acting is amazing! And XRR is so cute! I usually don’t like these type of characters, but she feels genuinely adorable, Also, I think the pacing is just right. The relationships are progressing naturally—not just for the main couple but also for the side couples and side chars.
It's soooo boring and I don't feel any chemistry and ugh insta love is one of my biggest pet peeve too

SYS explained it on ep 8 around the 14 mins mark. He placed a spell on her so her appearance looks different so that people won't recognize and disturb her
It's kinda tragic when you think about the reason why SYS wants MQG back. There's definitely his love for her as well as his regrets for causing her death, but I think a big part of it is that he wants her back to bestow punishment on him. He gave up ascension, broke half of his golden core, went through life and death just to revive her. And it wasn't so that they can be together or that he can apologize to her, or that she can forgive him, but more to do with wanting her to impose judgement on him. At least that's what I think. He thought of all the possibilities that could happen when she comes back..."If she wants to kill me, i'll give her the knife. If she wants to leave, i'll prepare all the things and send her off". But he never imagined a scenario where his master would forgive him or even love him.

haha yeah he is! I actually really like him. His reason for being a villian or at least what triggers his hate to MQG is so ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. It's the most unvillian villian thing ever xD ...He's basically the person that lived their whole life and never got NO for an answer.
I'm actually excited that this happened because it makes the interaction with the SML much more interesting since he's obssessed with MQG. He'll be soooo furious when he finds out hahahha

he was cultivating, if you watched ep one, they said it was his first time leaving that mountain. So it's the first time he even interacted with her. And yes, she emerged as a baby and went through life - but like i said, she was still expected to retain her memory. Why? because if you watch later eps, it will be explained. And he did move on after ep 1 so i'm not sure what's confusing lol
I swear ep 10 where SYS is being more evil than the villian is so satisfying yet funny. The villian literally has watery eyes and complaining kills me xDDD

yes finally SOME type of promotion. I feel like this drama is relying entirely on word of mouth for promotions haha. From most reviews, it's all positive so I think the main problem right now is getting passer-by to watch and give it a chance. Hopefully the story continues to be good and we get more ppl coming in!
